Yeah, im not too much into the GoTY hype myself. I dont remember buying a game titled GoTY nor actually paying attention to them. IMO they are just simple popularity contests like any contest show on TV.

I think few people really do care, it's basically just a basis for empty bragging rights.

But it can be fun to see various GOTYs simply for the fun of it, even if you only take it at face value.

Also, the Steam Winter Sale has officially started! Once again, I've posted a small guide on how one should go about buying games during the sale, so as to save money (and prevent possible regret).

Yeah i have noticed that around my living place aswell and even some of my friends texted me mad that GTA didnt win lol.

Also i just realized i DO have a GoTY titled game, though its a really old one xD

Ah thats great, i might get some new games, but it depends on if those games also have a sale.

As with Shadow here, GoTY means nothing to me.

My tastes are my tastes, and whether a game has been awarded that type of "prestige" does not influence that. I feel the same way I feel about this as I do about reviewers. Just because IGN says a certain game is Game of the Year doesnt make it true. The Game of the Year is based on a string of opinionated reviews. And as I have said elsewhere, I don't allow others opinions to influence my purchases or my tastes.

Exactly, i do not buy a game cause someone else likes it, though i do watch some first-impression series to at least see what the game is like and how it plays.

There are some people who do that though, mainly when the one who gives the opnion is someone popular.

You have to have no will of your own to take someone's review so literally. But as Shadow said, some such people do exist.

Im really hoping, though its very unlikely, that Blizzard will release the last chapter of the StarCraft II Triology in 2014, but seeing the time difference between the first and the second... it might end up in 2016 D:

God, I hope not. Lmao. They have enough Naruto's as it is. Part 1 Naruto, Naruto Rasen Shuriken, Naruto Kyuubi Rasengan, Sage Naruto, Sage Naruto with his father's cloak, Naruto Rasengan Mega Barrage, Naruto Kyuubi Bullet and Son Goku Naruto if you include DLC. Way too many.

Of course there will be, much like there will eventually be a fifa 2016. Only thing is, CoD died with WaW. Then black ops happened and everything went downhill.

Well it has a reason for FIFA honestly, cause it's based on the year the season ends. But this is just laughably stupid from Treyarch.
