  • I like the teams you gave made. Here's one I came up with:

    Charizard (Mega X)
    - Flamethrower
    - Crunch
    - Earthquake
    - Dragon Pulse

    Ninetales
    - Flamethrower
    - Will-o-wisp
    - Energy Ball
    - Extrasensory

    Blaziken (Mega)
    - Blaze Kick
    - Sky Uppercut
    - Stone Edge
    - Thunderpunch

Three of my favorite Fire-types with good type coverage.

Also, feel free to add my friend code if you want in my sig.

For Charizard X, it's recommended to only have physical moves so that it could take full advantage of its Tough Claws ability. So, if I were you, I'd replace Flamethrower and Dragon Pulse with Flare Blitz and either Dragon Claw or Outrage. Aside from that, everything else seems great. :)

    Hmm...

I see your point and its a very good one, but I just can't see myself with a Charizard not using Flamethrower. Probably just because I've been doing it for 15 years. Man I'm getting old...

Speaking of, if anyone would be willing to trade me a Charizardite X (I picked Squirtle in X since I was using Fennekin and Torchic already), feel free to message me. I've got a TON of Pokémon on my HeartGold game that I'd be willing to give up and I don't really mind if you end up giving me a Rattata in return, I just need the stone.

You should be able to buy a Charizardite X (only in X, of course) from the Stone Emporium in Lumiose City if didn't pick Charmander. Prices start from 1mil, and they can drop as low as 10k if your character has max style.

  • That's what I'm trying to avoid. Honestly, I don't really know the best way to get to that point (every google search I've done is very vague) and, well, I'm impatient. :P If it comes to that point, I'll definitely do that.

Name: Dominick AKA Dom AKA Doom AKA Dr.Doom

Those who I like the most are charizard (Mega evolved with Y stone), because He's so strong, mighty and fierce and Quilava because He's so adorable.
Those two can show different sides of fire, that it can burn you but also warm your heart.

    Reason(s) for liking Fire-types: I'm a Pyrophile. [Probably XD]
Fire can both burn and warm your heart. I love this... err... Contrast.

The pokemon I would choose to melt ice is Greymon. NO I MEAN MEGA CHARIZARD.
He's so strong and hot blooded~ He will burn EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING I SAID!!! MUWAHAHAHAHA

Welcome! Very good point with the contrast, it's all about what you do with the flame.

Pick two Fire-type Partner Pokémon: Mega/Blaziken, and Victini
Reason(s) for liking Fire-types: Probably because my first starter was Torchic

To melt snow away as fast as possible, which fire-type would think do the job best?
Victini, since it can use V-Create!

What is your favorite Fire-type starter?
Easily a three-way tie between Torchic, Charmander, and Fennekin!

Of the two Charizard forms introduced in X&Y, which is your most favorite?
    Uhm, they're both cool?

What type would you like to see paired with Fire-type?
    Fairy or Ice I guess?

What is your favorite Fire-Type legendary?
    Moltres

Which Fire type Pokémon has the best design?
Victini! IT IS SO ADORABLE! Also, the Litwik line... I remember making a Fakemon similar to Litwik before Gen 5 was a thing, so :3

Welcome! Wow, a lot of topics you covered there. In order:

    - I never thought of Victini, but I guess a 180 power move would do the job.
    - Those 3 starters are my favorites too.
    - X > Y for me, but both is an acceptable answer.
    - I don't like Fairy-types, but a Fairy-type covered in flames sounds really cool to me. Fire/Ice would be a fun little experiment.
    - Moltres is my favorite legendary, period.
    - I can't really argue with the cute factor of Victini, but man, V-create makes me think twice about cuteness.

  • If you had a Fire-type only team of at least three Pokémon, what Pokémon would you use and what moves would you give them?

Oh boy. Blaziken, Charizard, Houndoom, Chandelere, Delfox, and Pyroar?

Moves? Oh boy, I have no idea =/

Not sure about the others, but as far as Chandelure goes, I would suggest going with the following moves: Overheat, Shadow Ball, Hidden Power Fighting, and either Trick or Energy Ball. With Trick, you could cripple down opponents by giving them Choice item (if you're holding one), and with Energy Ball, you'd be able to take down many opposing water, rock, and ground-types. One of the biggest threats for this Pokémon is Swampert, and Energy Ball could make it vanish in an instant. :) I'd pick Timid for nature, and for EVs, I would go with 252 Special Attack, 4 Special Defense, and 252 Speed. I've used this set plenty of times before, and it works quite wonderfully.

Very interesting movesets, probably not ones I would've thought of, but they definitely cover a lot of types.

That is an AWESOME team. You cover pretty much everything with those guys.

Welcome! You did not miss out, we are still active and burning! I love the partner Pokémon, by the way.

All of your teams are really cool. Now for an interesting topic:

What do you think of Twitch plays Pokémon, and were you disappointed that there was a lack of Fire-types in the first game?

Personally I was very upset with the fact that Charmeleon got released, but I really did enjoy the culture that came out of it (just because I'm a Pokémon freak) and the fan art as well.

  • Happy Friday everyone! How about a new topic to get us going for the weekend?

If you were to give a pre-evolution or evolution to any Fire-types, which would it be?

Curious to see what you guys come up with. (Thanks to Peitharchia for this idea in another club)

I would give rapidash an evolution. It would be a flaming pegasus.

If legendaries could have evolutions, I would give Ho-oh a pre evo and Victini an evolution.

I can get behind a flaming Pegasus as a Rapidash evo. That sounds really cool actually. A Ho-oh pre-evo would be neat too, and a Victini evo would be interesting. It could go from cute little rabbit-thing to something intimidating...ok maybe not, but still :P

Definitely Torkoal. Its pre-evolved form would be sort of like a mutated Squirtle; instead of having blue body color, it would be red. Plus, its eyes would be smaller, exactly like how Torkoal's are. Numel would be a good option, too. Its pre-evolution would be a baby camel. n_n"
