  • Basically it's not saving the new position. AMAP shows it in its new position when I load the saved ROM, but VBA playing the ROM doesn't and it behaves as it should had I done nothing.

    If you saved at the map where you're changing that cut tree's location, then get out of that map by going inside a house or into another map, and go back again. This will "refresh" the map and reflect the changes that you have made.

    Also, I'd suggest you use A-Map 1.92.
    But if you're so dead-set on 1.95, then oh well~

    Also he should make sure it's the correct rom too and not a copy :P

    And I use both. 1.92 doesn't allow the player to type 0x01000000 offsets and plus I hate that there is no red border on the warps for 1.92 when you take the warps and also in a-map the sprite positions aren't shown .. They remain facing down whereas 1.95 also changes that. Plus 1.95 safely allows level scripts too for 0x1000000s I mainly use 1.92 for when I insert tile sets or maps or blocks or change map dimensions or map names... Since for emerald I have to manually repoint those. 1.95 is better though for anything else besides inserting and repoints imo.

  • I'm curious about a few little things about FireRed.
    Like how do we change the level of when eggs hatch from Level 5 to Level 1?
    Also change what moves are used with Nature Power depending on the terrain.

    It might be a problem with AdvanceMap, I don't know, but I just kind of noticed this early when I started using Advance Map. The game won't freeze if you actually use any "Look down" behaviour except the highest one I think. Also, one of the "Hidden" behaviours will cause the game to reset when you enter the map or get close to the hidden sprite, so watch out for that as well.

    Guess what. It happened again. :8: Freeze upon entering Route 2 from the second town. When it freezes, some blue gitchy color covers some tiles nearby the hero. Map connection is fine, nobody's on look down or hidden. I have 2 NPC's on look up, one on walk up and down, and one on walk around. Only new features added to the town is tiles, which I can't really see freezing up anything, and wild pokemon. Here's the event map if it gives any clues:

    I believe the buggy sprite to the left is doduo, whom does not have any script assigned. Don't know if he is part of a result, or a cause.
    I don't know what a level script is, so I'm not sure if I've added any. Any other specific things that tend to freeze maps like this?

    Have not touched a thing on the Route 2 map. Did some edits in Viridian Forest though, but that's another warp. However, the first time the freeze occured was when I was returning from Viridian forest to route 2, and back down to the second city, at which point I froze. When I tried testing again, the freezing occurred at second town - Route 2.

    Here's a screencap of the freeze. I believe the effed up sprite to the left is the doduo. Perhaps doduo is the reason? It doesn't have a script assigned to it.

    I'd avoid having any people/pokémon close to the map connections, as the map needs some time to load properly, so they won't show as soon as you enter the map if it's through a connection.

    Do you think that may be a cause? I moved Doduo down alligned with the lady that contributes to blocking your path. As well as Dream Eater guy, moved him down quite a bit. Freeze still remains.

    Sorry... didn't read your post properly. Yeah I've encountered that glitch a couple of times. But I think the freeze is what causes the glitchy sprite showing up at a random spot in my map.

    If level script is the same as map script then I only had the one that was originally there. Route 2 had none. Tried deleting the map script I found as well, didn't solve it.
    I made my last backup just one edit too late... Seems like the rom needs a fresh start.

    Hello, this is my first post. And I hope this is the right place.

    The events tab on some of my maps is blank. Anyone know a fix?

    I tried googling it, but all I could find was map making tutorials.

    If it's a map without events and you want to add some just click add events, if it does have the events but says P then you'd have to click the little brendan sprite up top to view them or go in settings and untick hide person events. Use amap 1.92 please :D

    To clarify, I'm looking for the patch that shows this screen when the hack is loaded.

  • Okay, this is a stupid question, but....

    How many pixels do I need to make the Emerald title screen? I assume it's the amount as Ruby and Sapphire, but I looked through a million tutorials and they all seem to skip over that.......

    Well you can insert it yourself (really easily) since there aren't many things necessary to do so.

    Well I know how to change the copyright screen, but what I want to do is add a whole 'nother screen before that. One that is like the screen in Mystery Dungeon, if you've played it. It forces you to press "A", so you will likely end up reading part of it first.

    Anyway, how would I insert another screen like that?
