Hmmmm, I wasn't able to get much from that trailer (cuz I don't really understand Japanese), but.....
-it seems that several members of the main cast belongs to the same army
-the graphics are really nice
-something about dragons
At least this trailer was loads better than the one they showed for ORAS the other day.

I liked the animations in that trailer. It's been a while and I've skipped many of the new games but I still like the older cel shaded look of Symphonia and Vesperia

Though, my best friend does, I might have to watch him play it, since he was talking about getting it.

The characters seem likable too, and I kinda wanna watch LPs for it once it comes out, since I can't play it for myself.

I'm liking the HUD, but I do feel it needs to be slightly bigger than it currently is. Also, I'm curious to why it seems like two characters are paired up in the HUD in battle. I wonder if it's just a an aesthetic choice, or we have some Linking like in Xillia; it also seems like only Human and Heavenly Tribe characters are "linked" in the HUD.
It seems like Tales of Graces side-step mechanic is making a comeback for Zestiria. Honestly, I hope it gets a nerf or resembles more like Xillia 2's version, since in Graces it was horribly overpowered. The more I see the battle system, the more I believe air combos aren't going to be in the game, which slightly worries me (for clarification, I love air combos. It's the main reason why I love Judith, haha). Judging from the HUD, it also looks we'll have a similar CC + MP battle system to Xillia's.
Some story details have also been released. Replace doshi with monk, since I don't know a better word that can be substituted.

In general, I like the series. I'm not over-fond of the battle system, but it's not bad or anything, just not to my tastes. But better the battle system they have than SRPG/Tactics or something, else I'd never have played any of them.
The first one I played was Legendia (though I think I never finished Grune's post-game quest), and I rather liked it despite what seems like everyone else hating it.
The second was Abyss, and I still haven't finished it, though I do plan to some day.
Third was Symphonia, which I quickly discovered was epic. I still can't figure out what makes it any better than any of the others, but it is, somehow. My one and only complaint is that Kratos and Zelos are mutually exclusive. My running theory on that is they're both so awesome that if they were in the party at the same time the game would explode out of sheer awesomeness overload. (Though IIRC there's a short time where they are both in your party, but that's probably all the game could take -nodnod-) And I fully intend on buying the HD version once the price comes down some more. Because I'm a cheapskate. Planning on getting at least one of the other PS3 Tales games eventually, too, though I haven't decided which one(s) yet.
And I've been playing Innocence, which isn't bad but has kind of lost my interest at the moment.

I think my favourite opening is Tales of Symphonia's Starry Heavens.
It's the first one I ever got really attached to and, even though it wasn't until Symphonia Chronicles that I actually got to watch the opening with this song attached to it while booting up the game myself, it's still really nostalgic for me. Abyss's Karma is a very close second.
If Xillia's opening were more orchestral like the very beginning of it is, I'd like it a LOT more but as it is... it grew on me, but I don't find it memorable otherwise, unfortunately.

I think one of the appeals of the Tales series are the Mystic Artes. Usually a badass move coupled with a nice anime cut-in. So, just wondering.
What are your favourite Mystic Artes in the series?
I don't have a definite favourite, so I'm going to have to use an assorted list.
Tales of Destiny DC - Stahn's Zankuu Tenshouken: I know this is a reference to Kyle's version in ToD2, but I never played ToD2. Despite that, this was still epic to do in the final boss fight.
Tales of Graces F - Sophie's Shadow Moment (hanakana version plz): I love Sophie, and this was one of the more stylish Mystic Artes (or Blast Caliburs, whatever) that looked so awesome. I have a preference for the Japanese version of this though, because HanaKana, haha.
Tales of Vesperia PS3 - Yuri and Flynn's Bushin Soutenaha: When I first saw this in the trailer for the PS3 version, I squealed like a little girl. I mean, look at it. It's so vibrant and so majestic (and does a crapton of damage holy, but it better for 8 bars of overlimit). I know it's not the first dual Mystic Artes, because Rebirth did them first, but still it was pretty shocking to see Yuri and Flynn were given a dual Mystic Arte.

Zestiria news! Actually, it's two days old. I totally meant to post this on Saturday though, haha. But anyways, here is the newest and third trailer for Zestiria.
We get introduced to presumably, an antagonist who might or might not join the party (I'm guessing he's going to be like Zagi) that goes by the name of Zabida, Zavida or Zabeeda (whatever, you read the romaji however you want). He seems to use guns in conjunctions with whips as his weapons. Footage of Alicia forming a pact with Lailah, which in turn allows her to see other members of the Heavenly Tribe. We have some battle footage with the HUD in action. The first Mystic Arte has been shown! And it belongs to Lailah.

It allows a Human character and a Heavenly Tribe character to fuse together to create one character. At what cost is currently unknown, but it seems like the video below shows that there is no penalty in fusing and defusing in battle. Currently, only Slay and Lailah have been shown to fuse together. But one can presume that Alicia and the other Heavenly Tribe members are able to utilize Kamui as well. Also, totally called that a Human and Heavenly Tribe character is linked up in the battle HUD for a reason!

Same ;___; I really want to play this and Xillia (and a whole bunch of Sony games I missed because 360 was the better system for like 75% of last gen)
Triforce, right, though? Whenever I wanna play specific games, I always have to go over to my friend's house and kidnap his PS3 for a few hours. XD; He's okay with it, but it'd be really cool to have my own and play things whenever I wanted. ;; Eventual goal.
