Assassin's Creed is also getting a movie adaptation. I don't really play the game, so I don't know if I will see it. It all depends on the trailer :P

Well, mutant turtles aren't supposed to be pretty, right? xD
The one in the 90's looked more appealing to me imo, but they were more leaned towards kids, which is why in the 2nd and 3rd movie, they didn't really use their weapons that much because parents complained that the 1st movie was too violent, which is why it was more darker than the 2 others that came out.

Tbh, if Michael Bay didn't produce the TMNT movie and everything was kinda different, I would've gone and seen it.

As far as the "they're not supposed to be pretty", I read an interesting article about that the other day - I can't remember where it was, but it was arguing that the reason people love the turtles is because of their charm and relatability in the show. They looked and acted goofy, not creepy. In the movie, they try to keep the goofy acting but replace the goofy looks with creepy which, while it's more "realistic" (you know, to how turtles would actually look if they mutated I guess), makes the goofy seem out of place and makes it less fun.

  • With TMNT being a Nickelodeon movie, the fact that it's been receiving bad rep doesn't surprise me (okay, that's not the most accurate reasoning). But still, if Ninja Turtles III was anything to go by, this isn't something i'd be too thrilled about. And Kevin Eastman called it "easily the best Turtles movie yet", which honestly is pretty sad.

I just found out what the hell The Purge is, and what the hell was going on last night in Louisville. God damn it America, why are you letting media get a hold of you?

That's always been reality, though. This just happens to be more on the illegal side. I haven't even seen the second movie but apparently it was a lot more impactful conceptually than the first.

  • More and more cities are starting to do the same thing -.-

People just watch movies and they wanna copy everything they see, pretty stupid one minded people if you ask me. Like when Project X came out, I started seeing events on Facebook saying Project X #2, Project X (city name). And now that The Purge hit the theaters and got a bigger commercial release than the first one, people are doing that too.

Sometimes the world just amaze me of how dumber human beings can get.

  • People are just having their [obnoxious, illegal] fun I imagine. I can bet you there won't be a third installation.

  • Despite being better than the first film, The Purge still has an over 50% average score on Rotten Tomatoes. Also, wasn't that event turned out to be a hoax or something? This isn't the first time movies influence the audience's mindset. After JAWS came out in theaters, a large population of sharks decreased by human activity, putting them on the endangered species list. They've been slowly increasing their numbers since protective laws were put in place.

So I've recently watched this video regarding Disney Villains secretly being the good guys all along, and I've been wondering what are your thoughts on this and movie villains in general actually having good intentions.

I have no sound, but let me guess. That Ursula bit in the start is fueled by the fact that Ariel is a whiny ***** who wants everything but never expects any consequences, right?

It's more along the lines of Ursula actually helping her poor unfortunately souls that high-risk rewards is how life works, reflecting real life, whereas Triton opposes this mindset and banished her.

I just watched the trailer and I was excited for a second because I thought it was Jessica Lange. :( Oh well, the trailer still looks reaaally good. I always get super hyped about Sundance films and this one doesn't seem like it'll be a disappointment. It feels like one of those that will lack atmosphere (see: Moneyball) but since it's a horror film contrarily it should be filled with tense moments.

idk I think it looks pretty good, can't judge it for more than it is

Anyone seen the Simpsons/Family Guy crossover, because:

    This is legitimately horrifying.

Lacking atmosphere? If the tense nature of the trailer wasn't enough, then you are either super critical or I'm super easy to please.

I dunno, I find this beautification of obese men quite refreshing, and I truly hope that we see more of this in the future! /s

The crossover is awful and had some really bad "jokes".

    +1

I just felt like a modern Family Guy episode just set with Simpson characters. Honestly would've preferred a American Dad crossover as it isn't as mean-spirited as Family Guy. Oh well, at least there's the Simpsons/Futurama crossover coming next month.

  • Will likely check out gone girl but I barely enjoyed fight club/social network when I watched them. American Dad is now owned by another channel so it might be hard to do.

Speaking of the Simpsons/Futurama crossover, wouldn't that contradict that one Simpsons episode My Big Fat Geek Wedding, where Futurama was a show in the Simpson's universe and vice versa in the Futurama universe? It sickens me to see long-running shows making so many retcons/negative continuities that ruin previously established canon from their early episodes.

I would if it wasn't on Sundance films and instead had a theatrical release, just so the voices of horror fans demanding pure original films can be heard via box office grossing.

  • I saw If I Stay when it came out. It was a good movie.

That's about all I can say about it, too. I thought the relationship in the movie was cute, despite being as destructive as could be emotionally with not a lot of GOOD reasoning behind them getting back together in the end/at any given point after they fought. unpredictable ending, though. I mean, who knew she would
