I suppose this is an eye of the beholder situation haha I find that Skrelp, Skorupi, Venonat, the Nidorans, Bulbasaur, and Stunky all have a cuteness factor to them

when I think poison, they aren't the first to come to mind for me anyways. I think koffing, weezing, the gastly line, tentacool/tentacruel, and the bug pokemon (weedle is cute though)

Lol thats true for most, the obvious ones usually are like ekans, koffing, drapion, grimer etc... but there are some diamonds in the rough, as illustrated above, especially Bulbasaur and Stunky

I think I know why I don't like pre evolutions. (and just some cute pokemon in general)
1. They seem like filler to me.
Think about it: They have lower stats, and don't add anything to the game. I think the only reason for adding these pokemon in gen 2 was to showcase and force people to use the new breeding feature.

2. Real Life Counterparts:
This might be just me, but I think if a pokemon resembles a real-life creature, then it appeals to me. The marill line for example:
Azumarill looks like a rabbit, so it is cute in my opinion.
Marill looks like a mouse, so it is cute in my opinion
Azurill looks like... What the heck?
(although azurill is one of the cuter pre-evo's in my opinion.)

Same thing with the pikachu line. they all resemble electric mice.

Since rabbits and mice are cute in real life, when I see a blue rabbit, it's not that different, and I can relate.

But we get to the clefairy line... it's a "fairy pokemon" ok, but what does a fairy look like?
Since I have nothing to relate to, It doesn't seem as cute.

and that's the case with most pre-evo's. they just don't look like their evolutions, or like anything at all.
3. Some of them are just ugly/creepy
Smoochum is creepy. enough said.
igglybuff, well that thing on its head creeps me out, and I just find it ugly in general.

Elekid is... not that bad. it resembles a plug, which is good, but I find it more cool than cute.
Magby: It's pose is sorta weird, especially in earlier games, where they didn't move at all.
Bonsly: I find it cute. it looks like its evolution, it has decent stats, and it looks all happy :D
Munchlax: of course! it looks like its evolution, it has good stats, and well, who doesn't like something that does nothing but eat and sleep? XD

That doesn't mean Ihate all pre-evolutions. I like Munchlax, elekid, azurill, and tyrouge. (and togepi, but that's not really a pre-evo)

speaking of My first reason: tyrouge is one of the few that don't fit ointo this category, because now you can get all 3 evlutions, and if tyrouge wasn't invented, and you could only get 1 hitmon in a game, you would have to trade.
(wait, I'm going off topic! this is supposed to be about cuteness!)

But anyway, everyone asks me why I hate them, and I thought this would be a good place to say it. it's an opinion,
ok people? I just don't find small pink things with eggs that are way too big for them to be cute.

Also, I've been thinking about pokemon with the least cute ones, and I got to... I think steel. only has 3 cute ones: klefki, mawile, and jirachi.

But for some Pokemon's case like Tyrogue, Smoochum, Elekid and Magby, they were to tone down the fierce or mature image of their evolutionary forms. (: It's odd, Kangakhan, Scyther, Lapras, Onix were left out.

As for subsequent introduced babies like Budew, Azurill, Wynaut and so on, they are more 'useful' than their predecessor babies from Gen II. For example, Budew is able to inherit Extrasensory and Azurill is able to receive Sing, Tickle, Encore as Egg Moves while their evolution forms can't. (: Some pre-evolution form are also created to balance the in-game progress, imagine if Riley gave you a Lucario Egg in DPt, you'd be able to beat the game with complete ease.

This is a tough question. I judge pokemon on appearence, and there aren't many I don't like. Maybe the ground type, although have have nidoran, diglett, dugtrio ect.

Ya know...Im really not that big a fan of Rock types. Just never really used them or found the ones i did us to not be super useful (except Tyrantrum) as what they were strong against were also weak to much more useful types, like Electric or Water or Ground. That being said though, I find Roggenrola, Amaura and Tyrunt to be extremely cute and adorable and love picking them up in-game when I can!

And on cute and tough for future generations: YES PLEASE!

Azumarill seems worthless at a glance, but a deeper look reveals hidden strength(Praise Marie the Azumarill, savior of nuzlockes). Many future Cute Bruisers could be similar, with Game Freak designing them very well, but not with obvious strength.

And lastly, if I can, Marie the Azumarill is my partner of supreme cuteness.

Happiny is.. okay. Not a Pokémon I find that cute either, Chansey and Blissey are pretty cute-looking but Clefairy will always be my favorite of the small, pink normals. And that in-game cry! Guh!

Of course because then I'd have so many more viable options for places like the Battle Maison. It gets tough when you love Pokémon like Delcatty and Raichu since they don't have anything they really excel at when you start getting into the more competitive side of things. Give me a mega Delcatty, GameFreak. ; ;

I really think they should, because I think we've been getting a few cute Pokemon that are able to hit hard, like Ampharos, Clefable, Eeveelutions and also Mega Lopunny and Mega Slowbro having some decently strong competitive use. I definitely want to see more that make you want to underestimate them but deep down have some a force to be reckoned with, which is why Azumarill did a good job giving off that impression.

If Empoleon is considered cute and tough, then yes! Cute and tough are more than welcome to me!

But they have to be tough.

Azumarill is comparatively weaker in my opinion and not even that cute. So, it is not my favorite.

But, Mawile sure is!! :D

So, yes- very much... Pokémon goes on mostly because it attracts people with it quirky cuteness.

But, I pay a lot of importance to strength in my games too.

Huge Power says hello. It's an ability that has been helping Azumarill's damage output, and with the introduction of physical/special split and now Fairy-type, it has helped make Azumarill quite the killer rabbit that it is today.

Dont they deserve some more power? I dont mean like a full on mega evolution but maybe just some more power or defining stats like exceedingly high speed or you know LETTING THE POKEMON WITH HIGH SPATK LEARN A SPATK AND NOT A PHYSICAL ATTACK. *cough* excuse me, but ya they really should especially the ones that are like to low tiered like ru and pu.

This is so true. Dedenne truly deserves Dazzling Gleam! Even Delphox can learn it in ORAS, so why not the hamster? I swear the developers love trolling the Fairies. Just look at Togekiss, it doesn't get Moonblast. But Oddish has it from ORAS and the Swablu line has it from Gen VI... :o

I think the electric rodents should be evolutions of Pichu. If possible, make them strong too.

My thought: Xerneas and Reshiram arguably the cutest mascot so far. But they looks more regal, serene and beautiful. Not that cute, but the cutest mascots so far indeed. So yes, we need a real cute mascot! I don't see the harm on having a cute mascot.
