Your character is currently pending, so all you have to do is edit your SU to reflect the changes I mentioned earlier (add some strengths and weaknesses to her personality section) and you'll be in too! While waiting for the IC thread to be approved, I wrote up the first route! You can peek below to see what'll be up. Please don't post in the IC thread yet when it goes up so I can post this there first!

ROUTE 1

Heading north from Pallet Town, Trainers must make their way around a large but very primitive route, that will become their very first route they will explore on their journey. The route is riddled with large patches of tall grass, and ledges that contour from far east to all to the far west, blocking off most of the route making it hard to travel north, only to have small gaps by which the road has been broken into it.

You will already have received your Pokémon from Professor Oak (or wherever else you may have gotten it) and are now ready to set out. Your first goal will be to traverse Route 1 and go to Viridian City, where the first Gym challenge awaits you! As such, it may be wise to catch some Pokémon too...

1. The main road is blocked by a fallen tree, causing the Pokémart representative to be unable to return to Viridian. As it turns out, hidden in its leaves was a nest of Silcoon and Cascoon... They now litter the road and have grown agitated! Clear the road, and the rep may just reward you with a free Super Potion. If multiple people participate, you'll each get one.

2. A lone Cottonnee has gotten separated from its flock by the windmill in Pallet Town, and drifted off course. Help it find its group again, and they'll be happy to give you some of their cotton, which may just come in handy later...

3. You may also choose to not participate in an event, and just travel through the route, maybe catch a Pokémon.

EDIT: The IC thread is up, and I put the first route for all to see. Feel free to start posting! Use this thread to coordinate who is going to do which mission (if any) and work together. Keep in mind that posts have to be at least 100 words in length, even when you're interacting with each other!

Sorry for the triple post, but I wanted to get my own SU up, so you can see exactly what kind of Leader you're dealing with! (Also I realise there's no background yet but I have to go for now xD)

Name: Ritsu 'Ritz' Ashborne

Age: 15

Gender: Female

Hometown: Viridian City, Kanto

Physical Appearance: At 5'4'', she's only just below average height for a 15-year-old, but Ritsu considers herself to simply be too short. Her jet black hair is accompanied by grey eyes, and fair skin, save for a number of birthmarks spread over her body. Her posture is thin, and underdeveloped for her age one would say - just another factor causing people to underestimate her age. Ritsu doesn't wear any make-up, simply because she doesn't feel the need to.

Her clothing consists of a schoolgirl-esque outfit, with a grey sweater over a white blouse and black tie. Underneath she wears a dark green skirt, with black tights and grey sneakers on her feet. Additionally, she carries a brown fabric backpack on her back.

Personality: Ritsu usually keeps to the background, not because she lacks social skills but because she simply doesn't feel like putting in the effort to make friends. People tend to be more annoying than helpful to be around, anyway. Another odd quirk she has is her horrible nicknaming sense. Even the two Pokémon she's with now had to be renamed because she had inadvertently given them somewhat... inappropriate names.

Strengths:
+ Serious
Ritsu tends to take things very seriously and personally. This aids her as it makes her meticulous and perfectionistic as well, and she'll always strive to reach the best possible outcome for her endeavors.

+ Sneaky
Because of her reclusive attitude and short stature, Ritsu tends to naturally fall to the background and be nigh-unnoticable if she chooses to be. This also means it takes some extra effort for her be noticed when she does want to, though.

+ Strategic
Though she has much to learn, by being chosen as the inheritor of the Viridian Gym, Ritsu has proven herself to be a proficient battler. She has good knowledge of the abilities of her own Pokémon as well as the opponents, and is known to use the terrain to her benefit too.

Weaknesses:
- Stubborn
She tends to take things personally, and can be stubborn as a mule when told she is wrong or should go about things differently. Rather than taking others' advice, even if well-meant, she has a tendency to go completely against their words if they don't line up with her own way of thinking.

- Short Fuse
Tying into this, Ritsu can have a very short fuse and make snide comments when something consistently annoys her. She's a no-nonsense kind of person, and can seem unfriendly when trying to cut to the chase in conversation.

- Scared of the Dark
One thing that scares her more than anything is Ritsu's fear of the dark. Or rather, her fear of the unknown. Ritsu is very stuck in her ways and is only really comfortable with anything she's already familiar with. She has a hard time adjusting to unforeseen circumstances, which is only amplified in absolute darkness.

I'd intended for all players to discuss which missions they were going to take and coordinate cooperation together here in this thread as well, but clearly that has not been happening one bit. Is that simply because everyone's so accustomed to skype here?

4. Since I've been wondering a little about the pace, I'll be installing the rule that to catch a Pokémon, you will need to end your post with the ball shaking. I'll then post in the OOC thread whether your capture was a success. Don't worry, I won't be strict... but I'd like you to put some effort into battle posts.

If you're opening sign-ups again, I'd consider making a character. Can't complain about a standard journey RP with a few missions sprinkled here or there.

But I do have two questions:
1.) Is there a reason for why characters must be under twenty years old?
2.) Will all the Gym Leaders be GM-controlled?

Hello! Yes please, we'd love to have you join (: To answer your questions:

1: For no better reason than the fact everyone is supposed to be a beginning trainer who only recently received their first Pokémon. If you can think up a reason why an older character would only now receive a Pokémon and go on a journey, I'd allow you to make one though.

2: This first one will be GM-controlled because it's my own character, and I like to take the opportunity to measure the players in a way... but future Gym Leaders I intended to leave up to the players themselves to control. Of course if you'd like someone to play against for ease of writing, I'd be more than happy to comply.

I don't specifically have an adult character in mind but an older beginner could be fun to work with. I'm really just brainstorming ideas for a Trainer at this point. But I'll start working on my app ASAP! Let's see if I can crank something out tonight, hehehe

And nice to hear about the Gym Leaders. I'd personally prefer if I were given control over later ones. Regardless, I know my Trainer will be taking the League Challenge.

I think it gives me more ideas for playing something non-conventional and genuinely enjoying myself for a time, but only should you allow it.

Arthur Heathmann​

Age: Twelve.
Gender: Male.
Hometown: Pallet Town, Kanto.​

Appearance: 5'3" ; mesomorph in the making ; messy brown hair and perpetual wide-eyed look abides by a very average wardrobe with jeans, sports shoes and typical tees ; wears the same travel-friendly jacket everywhere he goes ; hoards necessities in a yellow Trainer's backpack.

Personality: An impressionable youth with questionable backbone doing what he is told comes naturally. Arthur is lackadaisical in the way he carries himself, choosing to take life one step at a time. Like any child, he gets frustrated, but Arthur is especially good at standing back and clearing his head, knowing when he has been beaten. He does not face failure determinedly, rather surrenders with arms raised above his head; he takes loss in stride but also, when the going gets tough for him, he leaves. Arthur has a passive and mainly neutral demeanor when it comes to other people and to friendly relationships his answer is, more often than not, "Why not?" He is not hard to impress but he is also not difficult to upset, at least for an extended time. This makes him both a solid companion and a extendable rag doll, combined with his denseness, particularly when concerning indirect language or other people's opinions of him. In a sense, Arthur innocently assumes everyone to be automatically good. His compliance can be both a weakness and a strength.

Background: In short, it's for financial reasons that Arthur chose to be a Trainer, that and a number of well-timed occurrences. Arthur's parents had enrolled him in Training classes in Pewter City for a few months' times, which has readied him with the knowledge he needed. It was a risky investment to do so, for the two fishermen were but that: humble fishermen living their carefree lives by the water. Jack and Ennis Heathmann truly enjoyed their shared occupation, no matter how non-profitable it was, compared to both of their old, rustic, hectic lives outside of Kanto. Money was never really a concern until Arthur came into their lives and there were now three hungry men to feed. It hurt to send him away, in the end, but Arthur was as adaptable as ever and supposed being a Trainer was quite alright with him, especially if it was beneficial to everyone.
-------Ultimately, it was Lavender that inflicted Arthur with a true passion for Pokemon Training, otherwise it would have felt like a ponderous assignment. Having a Pokemon, to him, put everything in perspective, everything that he'd been told by his tutors and elders, how fun and accomplishing it would be. The Hoppip appeared spontaneously one morning during the migration season. A research assistant analyzed that she'd been separated from her cluster by a wind over the mountains and thrown down into Pallet by coincidence. Arthur immediately claimed her as his partner. There was something about Lavender that spoke to him more than any Magikarp or Barboach that his fathers offered him ever could. Nonetheless, they provided him with his very own Old Rod, "just in case he changed his mind."

Sharing your general idea with me would be useful if you don't wish to go through the effort of writing a full SU yet, yeah. I'm looking forward to seeing what you've come up with.

Try zooming out, if you're using Chrome. All the hassle would be avoided if we simply had a table tag.

Hopefully the hassle didn't make reading on your part too difficult. I'm pretty excited to start playing Arthur and I have an idea already for my first post, so I'll get to laying it out as soon as I can!

Heads up: Arthur'll be starting on the route east of Viridian before attempting to challenge the Gym.
