    1) Is driving while using a phone not illegal in the US? If not, it certainly should be. It's hardly Pokemon Go's fault, these people probably text and all sort on their journey anyway.
    2) Psychos can be triggered by anything, it wasn't pokemon go that killed a boy - it was his damaged older brother.
    3) The last piece, dramatic as it is, is just a general musing and not an actual report of an incident.

(Ohay VG I rarely show up here :c)

Okay, so I've decided to give Pokemon Go a try. I picked Charmander as a starter because I'm a sheep.

Apparently there is a Pidgey nearby, but I'm not properly dressed and I was going out too far into the neighborhood in my pajamas. So I just dropped some incense and hopefully that'll get the little shit to come to me instead.

  • Course it would be hell on earth not a paradise for those that are not into niche waifu kusoge games.

    Like me!

That would mean no challenging puzzle games

    No meaningful story games

    No adrenaline action games

And no more intelligent strategy games.

Only games for people who can only think with their d**k and have a questionable urge to f**k digital oddly proportioned animated characters.

Didn't we only get, like, 3 of these out of the non-indie portion of the West in the past 5 years?

I mean, to be honest, neither of the sides' AAA games are sparkling examples of any of these things. Save for the thinking with your dick. Both sides had that in spades, though while the East took to design, the West took to legit fucking, so you really pick your poison, there.

  • Ill admit the last 5 or so years have kind of sucked.

I'm more thinking your C&CG, Half-Life/portal, Tomb Raider reboot, hell even Splinter Cell Blacklist.

  • Mmmm I wouldn't mind such a world tbh! I mean during the ps3 era at least I played some japanese export games that I really enjoyed. So I'd be up for trying some more over western releases!

And from the East we had the Zero Escape series with compelling story and challenging puzzles (that even weave quite nicely into the story), the Souls series which does some of the best environmental storytelling that the game industry's seen in a long time, and literally anything that Platinum makes that isn't licensed (sans Devestation), because they know how to do wide appeal, with sexualized designs, without, and even by subverting the very idea of it.

Yeah, moe's loud in Japan, but it certainly isn't what it lives and dies on. Hell, in some cases games use moe as a means to pull in the whales and then take the aesthetic design where they want in subsequent entries. But looking at your Niers, your Xenoblade Xs, your Bayonettas (the subversion I mentioned), your Shadows of the Collosi...You could make as big a case for compelling design, varied appeal, and anti-pandering (and the supply/lack thereof) in the East as the West.

But eh. I like both. I just see it as people missing out if they pick one side or the other. East or West, there's a whole world over there that can barely be fathomed just by looking at a general aesthetic and declaring the entire side as such.

  • Yeah I was never trying to say one is better than the other. Just that I couldn't live without my western games.

Except on that part of only Waifu junk games. Those can taste some buckshot from my Six12 shotty.

  • Well I don't know into what the discussion developed, but the talk was initially only about niche and indie Japanese games, not AAA Japanese games. I mean if we talk about the Japanese industry in general, then it's pretty good. And if there is one good thing about Japanese games, it's that most retro games aged like good wine compared to western retro games, be it because of design or gameplay itself. The only games that didn't age well are NES RPG because of grinding, but western RPGs had the same problem at the time.

I guess people really didn't like Watch_Dogs. Getting multiple trophies with rarities of less than 10%.

True. They are of higher rarity on PSNProfiles, a trophy hunting website, so...

  • Trophy/achievement percentage always makes me wonder how many people actually finish these games. It's funny how the number of people drops drastically with each difficulty level, hardest difficulty getting to 1% usually.

  • Since I'm still in a nice hangover from a night of Co-op playthroughs with one of my friends..

I dunno with the rest of the world but have some of you thought that people were too cruel with Aliens: Colonial Marines? I get that it doesn't look nowhere as it was when it was shown in several pre-launch previews, and the final game's aliens act very much like they were assets that came from the 2000's or even the 90's, and playing the game alone is a complete pain in the ass with the AI controlled teammates. But I think the game isn't really that bad especially when there it exists moments of brilliance in some of the levels (The Raven, dear lord) and the player and weapon customizations (as well as being able to bring an entire loadout during the campaign) are definitely the strong points of the game.

I was still quiet aware of the game being too easy and forgiving on base difficulty (Soldier) so we played it on Hardened (or this game's version of Ultra-violence) difficulty even for the blind and first time playthrough. We could have played the game on Ultimate Badass (Nightmare) difficulty but considering that last weekend was our first foray, we wanted to play a little more reckless and offensive.

My friend (who i played ACM Co-Op with, for a night of fun) pretty much said that it was fun, though he does agree that he would not have played the game alone. Co-op is where this game shines he said.

Hmmm a game that was horribly reviewed, but when I actually played it, it was fun and had some strong points.. Hmmm Missed opportunity anyone? ;)

Yeah confession, i remember talking about how much of a sh*tfest ACM was, but after having played it for a whole night, i think I've forgiven the game now. ACM you's okay.

UPDATE: O'Neal in the PC version is still a piece of sh*t AI but is far more competent in the Peasant i mean Console versions of ACM.

Rarities on PSNP are more meaningful, though.
PSN rarities are counted from all owners of the game and majority of players are not trophy hunters so they don't go for trophies. That's why most games have UR rarity on PSN.

My top 23 rarest trophies on there are all from the Call of Duty series.
