That's impossible as all of Ash's Pokemon from Kanto to Sinnoh were seen in Oak's Lab. A good guess, though.

Yeah that's true, but some people really wanted to believe that theory.

Yeah i still do not think there will be a noob reset. It is possible that Ash may start to train to Rechallenge the Kanto League. Although I would much prefer him to go back to Johto.

Anyway, does anyone else think Pikachu's love for Ketchup is coming back? The new closing theme has a lot of Pikachu in a forest of Ketchup Bottles.

I really really hope they bring it back in Sun and Moon.

Much like the Leak/Rumors thread from the SM subforum, I found a supposed leak for the SM anime that I want to share in this thread:

I have no knowledge of how X Y & Z ends, I only know what happens when Sun Moon starts.

- Serena does not follow Satoshi
- Satoshi is very distraught however, talks about Serena to Lilie
- Satoshi meets Lilie on the ship
- Lilie is a student of Dr. Platane going to Alola to assist Dr. Kukui in his research
- Satoshi and Lilie arrive in Pinapperu City
- Dr. Kukui takes them to Papaye Town
- Hala taks Satoshi into Kapu Kokeko
- Pikachu is injured in battle
- Satoshi meets Mao and her brother Oleando
- Oleando watched Satoshi in the Pokemon League
- Oleando has final evolved form of Nyabby, belongs to their father
- Mao uses flowers and herbs to heal Pikachu
- Satoshi meets Hau
- Hau takes Nyabby from Dr. Kukui
- Satoshi gets Mokuroh, Lilie gets Ashimari
- Satoshi battles Hau and loses
- Pikachu recovers thanks to Mao
- Satoshi travels with Lilie, Mao, and Oleando
- Satoshi catches Tsutsukera
- Lilie catches Mimikkyu
- Mao has Amakaji and Rarantesu

I more likely to believe that. The accuracy of the names are surprising. Since Pikachu is injuried, it is justified that he loses to Hau, especially if he is distraught and using a new pokemon

It is interesting that Ash actually gets a starter which I kinda like. I know some have been starters, but to actually pick one is surprising. Doesn't exactly stop him from catching or trading for at least on other starter. It is also always a good sign when people know who Ash is in another Region which I really love.

I know it is just a rumor, but if it is true, it is already extremely different from other anime starts.

I do wonder why he is distraught though. He usually isn't that early in the anime unless Pikachu is hurt and this seems to happen before Pikachu gets hurt. I wonder if something happens in the Flare Arc.


I am going to be extremely excited if Lilie travels with him. But I wonder if that means if he will have 2 female companions and possibly Mao's brother? To me it looks real and I believe it, but I will not be surprised if it is fake. As everyone was thinking that those starters when Sun and Moon were first announced was real.

Judging by the info about Ash talking to Lillie about Serena, there are two possible scenarios:

1) Serena has confessed her feelings for him but can't travel with him and must stay in Kalos to pursue her dream of becoming Kalos Queen.

2) Serena dies during the events of the Flare Arc but confesses her feelings for him with her last dying breath.

I don't think Serena will die. But that would rip a lot of people's hearts out, much like RWBY did last season. I think it be a bit too dark for that.

I'd say we err on the side of caution regarding these leaks. Just because they look valid doesn't mean they actually are. For example, back at 2010 Gamasutra, there was a leak for Ground Zeroes that indicated that Skull Face was named Albatross and it ended ominously when there was smoke coming from a valley after getting Chico out of the pen. None of the stuff depicted in there was even remotely close to what was shown in the actual game. Something similar happened nearing the release of The Phantom Pain, where leaks uncovered at least 5 chapters, many of which were completely different from the actual game (which had two chapters as is, and at most had a third chapter that ended up cut), with their only real similarity being that some mission names were the same as in the final game (which even THAT was mostly due to that leak occurring around the time the Phantom Pain's trophy list leak occurred). We can't say for sure that's what will happen until the Anime is released in November (even though I'm not particularly optimistic about the anime right now thanks to realizing Ash's pretty much going to be aimless that region thanks to the gyms and league being removed from Sun and Moon).

If Mallow join Ash then I want him to become a straight-man who often gets angry by Mallow's bizarre personality and Rotom-Dex's mischievousness .
In fact , I would love Ash calling Mallow an idiot .
Basically , I want him to be A Straight-Man like Keita (Youkai Watch).

I would also like Funny Parody like Ash turning into A Super Sayan after being Motivated or angry.
Or Ash and Rival mimicking the expression from Jojo's bizarre Adventure when confronting one another.

I personally doubt this leak, but it would at least believe Ash and Mallow's presence together in the leaked concept art of the starters' final evolutions. But what makes me sad is that the female protagonist will be skipped over (a la the horrible saga that was Unova), and I know they're more marketable as Ash's companion than the "Gym Leaders" like Iris and Misty.

But Ash catching Rowlet and Pikipek is something I do expect, even if it means type overlap again. Popplio is the one starter I can see going to a companion instead of Ash.

100% sure there wont be a reset. If I remember right the only reason why there was a reset is because it was a new team of writers. And the writers want to continue on what they built off with XYZ in the SM anime.

I believe the complete reset of Ash in BW was also because the 5th Gen games were marketed as a "reboot" by having only new Pokemon in the regional Dex. The attempt to do a reboot for Ash in the anime didn't work, as the reception for the BW series in the West was horrible. Iris is also Ash's most hated female companion to this day, because most viewers hated her "what a kid" insults and her extremely cheap Dragonite.

I have doubts Ash is even going to be in the anime. Or at least not in the anime as the typical sense of being in it. By that I mean he will be in it but not as the main. Reason for this is two things.

1.They have not shown ANYTHING about S&M yet anime wise. While you can say it airs in Japan in November so of course it would be to early to show info the Hoenn anime aired the same time and was shown in July in Japan. So it being too early makes little sense.

2.I can also see them maybe going the AZ route about after Flare is all done Ash is just gone. Not dead but he vanishes for some mysterious reason.

Making me think Ash will be in S&M but not right away. Like for some reason he could have been spotted in Alola but lost his memory or something and the new Alola kid who is a nooby trainer finds out and wants to find/help him.

Again just a theory but I can't shake the feeling the anime is hiding something they don't want people till know till a plot point in XYZ is over. I mean September is less than a week away and we know nothing about the anime so it just seems weird to me is all. Weirder when you go by the only 10 eps left thing since if they meant from now that would end from what I can see late October.

Wasn't this debunke3d as being ash? I thought someone said it made no sense for a game leak to feature him since he is not a game person but anime only. Unless Ash is in game and that is how you get Ash Greninja which could be the case. Just seems weird for as thing about the games to just have Ash on it

Wasn't this debunke3d as being ash? I thought someone said it made no sense for a game leak to feature him since he is not a game person but anime only. Unless Ash is in game and that is how you get Ash Greninja which could be the case. Just seems weird for as thing about the games to just have Ash on it

That artwork hasn't been debunked at this stage, in fact it actually became more credible due to Mallow appearing in it. Concept art pieces similar to it do exist as being drawn for the anime, and they usually involve the Pokemon at different angles and doing some different moves that are then used for the animators.

I'm surprised Midnight there is speculating Sun & Moon will bring a new protagonist to replace Ash based solely on no information on a Sun & Moon anime known. However, XY has 10 episodes left before we say goodbye to the Kalos Crew and if I recall, teaser trailers for the next generation saga were usually shown around on the third-last or second-last episode so maybe we'll get an announcement before those episodes go to air.

We still don't know if he did or not. There is still the chance Flare meddled with the outcome since they funded the league. Not to mention the chance of Charizard getting a possible power up from the ME Energy they gathered. Plus we have the chance that Diantha strips Alain of the title for causing harm to the city. If it was not for him the city would be fine.

Just as an FYI, Ash also wasn't even hinted to be in Best Wishes until... well, until just after Tobias beat him. In fact, the people who did the Sunday Shows even noticed the conspicuous absence of Ash in marketing materials for Best Wishes before then.
