Okay that'll be good, I think the whole "POTW" part might have to be changed so let uppers know that can be easily changed, I'm thinking it might cause some confusion with pixel of the week or poll of the week, just a guess though. Well as far as judging is concerned I will just state at the end of the thread that I would like anyone to pm me if they would like to help out when I'm too held up, I'll just ask that they have some experience and the members you suggested will get favoured if they ask seeing as in they've asked before ;)
You did? What did you major in? I want to do media studies & something in literature but I'm not sure as I was thinking about music production as I love writing music and playing and things..

Oh my god math is just not my thing, I think it's hard to be good at stuff like maths and science when you play music and have more of a creative mind if that makes any sense! I hate to generalize but it seems to be the case for a lot of people.
I studied a play by him for 3 years, The Merchant Of Venice, it was very easy I mean everyone was saying that Shakespearian was going to be very difficult but it was in fact pretty straight forward, I even noticed the references he made to Greek Mythology, The whole class looked at me funny when I went on for a few minutes explaining how he liked to refer to Homer's Odessa and Heraclius etc. xD;
So hopefully I'll comprehend with Hamlet good too! I'm looking forward to reading it actually, once we start I'll be sure to discuss it with you, it'll be fun :3

I like how the people who keep suggesting that the reason why people won't submit anything to that thread is because of the five-review minimum probably haven't read the thread thoroughly enough to understand that the five-review limit isn't actually in effect until we get five of anything in the system. Or that the definition of a "review" in this system is "read and submit at least a paragraph to five people on this list." Or is that just the fact that I never could seem to explain things well enough, no matter how many times I end up trying to rephrase it?

But other than that, yeah, I support de-stickying it, in part because we've already got fic advertisements up the wazoo. That and the alternative is apparently reworking it to be like Serebii's system when the point was that we give reviews for reviews, not to simply be available to be reviewed/get requests for reviews. (Which gives me an inkling of an idea, actually, although it might be overly complicated. Like, "for every review you receive, you're required to review one of these if your story is on the list unless there's no one left for you to review." It becomes complicated because that'd be a lot to cross-check and start, I think.)

But the guides, yeah, I've been thinking that since forever, to tell you the truth. A few of them are pretty redundant, so I've been wondering if we'd end up merging them together or rewriting them to eliminate unnecessary information and create one basic guide that covers all the bases that the others touch on separately. (I think we even had some snark awhile back about how these all hilariously contain a few useful points and about a hundred other WTF-worthy ones.) And I've been wondering why Bay's fanfiction index wasn't in the main forum. *ducks!*

I've decided I'll run Poem of the week regardless of whether or not an emblem gets confirmed if that's okay with you? I was delighted when activity started picking up but it started to slowly go down again ;;
I'm going to revive it again xD well I'd like to inject a little stamina into it at least and I know some are looking forward to the competition but I am fearing that it will be short lived if we're lacking an emblem, however I have a better one in the making with a better graphic artist so hopefully it will go through this time! I'll get working on some rules and things now but I'll try to keep it as unrestricted as I can so that it's not too formal yet fail as I know being too serious about some things can throw people off! ><
I have school and things though so I might get someone to give me a hand with judging when things start to get a little busy! I have my final year after thins one!
And subjects that are freaking me out are Music, math and more so English! D;
For music I need to learn 6 high standard pieces on my 12 string which will be hard along with lots of other melody writing and musical things xD Then English... My god... It alone is impossible! Studying Hamlet, Emily by Jane Austin then studying 45 poems by 8 different poets and needing to be able to discuss 6 at random (chosen by examiners) in detail. It's rather worrying! Along with comprehension composition but that's easy enough! As for math... I suck at math xD;

Kind of reminds me of the times when I've wanted to use a name, but it was taken, and I ended up liking the replacement name better than what I'd originally planned to name the dragon/chicken/dino. Case in point: I was originally going to name a grey dragon Scrambles the Death Dealer, but thanks to this alt black, my dragon instead ended up with the name But I Wanted to Be Scrambles. I'm actually rather glad that that happened. X3

I saw the phrase "Metallus catalog", and my brain immediately jumped to the though of a Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition featuring Metallus on the cover despite the fact that Sports Illustrated is a magazine and not a catalog. X3
