It's a good thing to keep driving. I let myself go, and last night, when I tried to drive, I was like, "I'M GONNA KILL SOMETHING GET ME OUT OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT PLZ."

You know, I keep thinking the same thing. Truth be told, the drama in it and the sheer stupidity of a number of people should've driven me out ages ago, but it's the blinking fanfiction. I don't even know what it is about the fandom that makes me want to keep writing about it. The characterization and plot in the anime notoriously suck compared to most other shows that hit Japanese airwaves, Special is crammed full of Mary Sues, the games have bare-bones plot that really can be summed up with what's essentially a cliché in this fandom nowadays, and the reviewers tend to be a hit-and-miss sort of thing (as in, sometimes you get the sane ones and other times you get the batshit ones). In any case, it just seems like it's one of the few I feel comfortable with writing in. I blame that British pansy who prances around my brain periodically and the fact that I always feel uncertain as to whether or not I get any other fandom's canon right. With Pokémon, everything's so straightforward that if you unintentionally royally screw everything ever up, you fail at fanfiction in general.

Lulz to Card. Personally, I'm heavily surprised he has a forum at all and hasn't just skipped to the box part, considering how he is in real life and on the subject of fans in general. I also imagine him sitting with a browser open and the URL for his forums in the address box. And he just stares, afraid of hitting enter and seeing just how crazy his fans can be. (Oh, the socks argument.)

As for chapter length, maybe he'd be more comfortable reading Stephen King, considering the dear, dear man once wrote a chapter that's only a sentence long (and got away with it because he's Stephen ****ing King, He Who Backhanded the Mistress of Sparkly Vampires). On the other hand...

I'll reply to the entire thing later, but I just want to say... lulz. What makes this even more amusing is:

1. He says the part about fifteen pages, yet... he's reviewed my work, which gives a thorough up-yours to page limits. Maybe he is a masochist.
2. "I'm not saying her work is bloated and pretentious. Just the majority." (Or it comes off like that. You'd think two arguments with the same person over apparent misunderstandings would teach one to read over what one writes before hitting the post reply button.)

I say this to you, my dear Asty, because I'm sorely tempted to reply, but that would result in more drama because, well, he reminds me of a certain Irishman the entirety of my LJ flist knows and loves so dearly they felt the need to mass-omit him from their own flists abruptly. (Even Gizamimi Pichu, who's probably the sweetest girl you could ever know. Which says something, really.) That and apparently, people flail at my arguments now. Even though they lol'd at the Orange Sheep incidents except for that one time? And then there was the swampoleon thing where everyone pretty much jumped in afterwards? WTF, guys.

I can't wait until I get off my tail and finish my site, really. My forum will be pretty. It will have awesome people to start off with (namely, the people who've stuck with the old one), and we'll all make it together. And it will be fun times.

I've just finished reading one of your one-shots - Conversations with Thunder. Although I can't reply to the thread, as it's over a year old, I'd like you to know that I really enjoyed it. ^_^ Especially with how well, and convincingly you set up such a tone for Raikou. :3

Thank you, it really is great to be back! It has been a while hasn't it? Well at least it feels like a long time since we've spoken! I've been good (lately) but I was down for a while, and that's why I was gone few things were just not going my way to say the least. But I think leaving was a little drastic but at least it's out of my system! I'm always up to talk regardless though so no worries =]

That's "attempting" and not "succeeding" because a school bus happened to cross his path when he was on the way there. Of course he wasn't going to leave that alone. Several devoured children later, he found that he couldn't remember why he had gone out in the first place. Not that he really cared, mind. Again, there was a school bus filled with edible children and a driver that could be brought home in a little baggie for later involved. Life was awesome.

Yeah, he carries around baggies wherever he goes for just such an occasion, by the way. He carries them in a bag. A bag of bags. A bag-bag.
