This week seems to be my lucky week lol. Two days of college have been cancelled :D
Me too, of course choosing Serena will also mean having a difficult choice between Fennekin, Charmander, or Torchic as my Fire type (Chespin and Froakie do not suit her).
Eh...to unlock Challenge Mode requires stupid and complex requirements that are unanimously hated (long story, look it up). But if you don't mind using a cheating device you can skip that, or if you're playing on a ROM you'd have to use a cheat code which you can most likely just look up. And yeah, Audino makes leveling up in Gen V much easier and more convenient, which is good.
As I mentioned, BW only has Drilbur, Tympole and Sandile until you reach Icirrus City when you can get Stunfisk, then Golett after beating Brycen. B2W2 has Sandile, Drilbur, Onix, Trapinch, Sandshrew, Baltoy, Numel (W2 only), Gligar, Piloswine and Golurk, in that order. For BW you'll only really have the past gen ones for the new Elite Four and Alder, and Cynthia and Morimoto.
I'll keep her default outfit until I unlock outfits that look better than her default outfit. I almost forgot that character customization isn't limited to just outfits, but also hair such color and hair-style, which is why she has a ponytail if you choose the male trainer, Calem, instead of her.
Yeah, I was considering doing Black instead of White 2, but ultimately settled on the latter because the former only has three Pokémon for the first six badges or so. That and I had access to Challenge Mode (I don't know if you use ROMs, but I don't for the DS games, I used VBA for LeafGreen and Ruby). So far it hasn't been as easy as I thought it would be, but i've been underleveled throughout most of it. Though White might have a few challenging opponents (though if you had an Excadrill with Sand Rush, X-Scissor and Swords Dance, you can easily say screw you to Ghetsis' Hydreigon).
And i'm posting Platinum more in-depth on the Marriland forums (the main place I hang out at), with screenshots (albeit iffy ones taken from an iPhone) and more detail. I know one person there was doing a Ground Monotype on Black and he stopped because he said it got too easy after he got the Lucky Egg.
Mine's going quite well. I'm almost done White 2 and have recently started Platinum. I did Ruby, LeafGreen, SoulSilver and White 2 instead of the ones you did, in comparison. And i'm also documenting Platinum on another forum.
What kind of outfits will you have Serena wear in your XY copy depending if they will be included as part of the character customization?
I'm stuck between Dawn and Hilda, because of their lovely designs. I also like Serena, Rosa, Lyra, and May. Red is, hands down, my all-time favorite male trainer (second being Ethan/Gold).
The hat and overalls are just the tip of the iceberg. There are cosplayers who can pull it off with effort.
