  • Oh yes. There's a hilarious story behind it, and needless to say, there really was a fic that involved a Charizard using Explosion. I'd launch into the full story, but it'd make me feel very old, very quickly.

    Also, XD to the pun.

As for the age, so long as you've got a good explanation for it, readers might not notice. Mostly, you just have to answer the question of why she started at eleven instead of ten, and you'll want to be careful to explain anything that might need explaining beyond that. For example, if her parents prevented her from going, why would they, especially in a world where most kids start out at ten? Did she want to stay behind to study? Why would she decide to leave a year later, then? Things like that.

But if you've read the discussion on Thesis's thread, you've probably got a good idea for what you should be thinking about already anyway, so.

Totally cool about the installment. I have to admit I've already got a to-review queue myself on SPPf, so I'll be sufficiently distracted in the wait. ;D

As for Uboa, yep. It's also actually the name of a particular character, too, so. (Yume Nikki, in general, is full of crack and awesome. For example, this is how you meet Uboa.)
    Iiiin chronological order:

*high fives* XD I can't wait to see the polished-up version, then, and yeah, the Buizel thing is probably a good idea to change. (I've been noticing how you kept on getting comments everywhere about that one.) As for the capital letters, ironically, I was thinking of going back to the Meta Method for pretty much the same reason. (One of my readers pointed out the lack of capitalization in every review and eventually had a discussion with me about how it was canon. I really didn't mind, but I realized it'd save me a lot of grief and having to explain things if I didn't. >_> You can definitely experiment with it yourself if you'd like. You probably have more patience than me when it comes to explaining things. XD)

Also, for the Charizard using Explosion example, did you drop in on an earlier discussion? XD Because I haven't heard that in awhile, and I didn't think many people brought up that example. (Man, I wish I still had the fic where that came from.)

Back on topic, though, yeah, that kind of canon breaking is okay, although to be more accurate, it depends on what rules you're breaking and why. For example, if you're chucking out the four-move limit the games impose on Pokémon, no one would bat an eyelash. If you're making moves seem truer to real-world physics (like people could actually get hurt if electrocuted by a Raichu), some people might even cheer you on. If you have the minimum age for getting a trainer's license be fourteen, people will probably argue unless you have a really good reason for doing it. Things like that.

As for the Uboa theme, I just got a bit tired of it after a few months, and beyond that, I wanted to show off my banner for my fic. (I might replace the icon, though, because I really don't like how it's got a white background on my profile/VMs, despite being transparent. /nitpicky) But good to see someone liked it. ;D

As for Studio-Revolution.net, yes indeedy. The BBS (its forums) and all the other fun little bits and bobbles in it are also mine.
Oh yes. I've skimmed that, and I heard this was actually written a year or couple ago with not too much getting edited?

    Bwahahahahaaaaa... *rubs hands together*

On the positive side, it's not as bad as some other people's first fics? Just for a note of some semblance of reassurance? XD
AS MANY AS POSSIBLE, CLEARLY. Every review needs an analogy involving elephants. :D

And now, I'm going to edit that into my rules for the challenge.
Oh, I believe you. ♥ You're a pretty cool cat, even if I'm a bit hard on you.

That's because I'm a psychotic, psychotic person. ;D Everyone else would be like, "OH GOD, WHY IS THE WORD COUNT SO HIGH." I, meanwhile, would be like, "WELL, CRAP, I HAVEN'T EXPLAINED THESE POINTS ENOUGH. WHERE CAN I CRAM THIS ANALOGY INVOLVING AN ELEPHANT?"
Sorry buddy. Aside from Ruby in RPG Maker XP, and C# in XNA, I only know Visual Basic, Java and Python, but because I've only learned these on courses, I don't know enough to use them for anything substantial. I wish I could help you out though.
As you might have noticed, the list still needs working. There is also a few questions about the game (such as it being so close to 'Ban the user above you!' in comparison, so we'll have to see. :V

Not to mention I'm lazy... and busy. Or else the list would be finished already.
Right now, no. We plan to start having public revisions sometime in February or March, however, it depends on a few factors since we can't spend every day working on it.
"Understood. Now I know where my project is headed. I'm creating an engine in C++ because it would take too long for me to learn how to use RMXP/Game Maker and create the game there. :P"

That sounds cool :P Hope to hear more about it
