All I know is that my Porygon's are getting the very minimum of 4IVs so they'll be decent nonetheless! As for EV training, too much effort. For me it turns a fun game into a task.

Good thing I got Pokémon Bank so I can store the bastards away! I do like my training but I try not to go all out on it like the IVs and EVs. It's all so unnecessary to me, especially when I play leisurely. I always end up breeding Pokémon and training them up to really high levels. Feels better when I train them from the ground up.
