As for your research experience, that sounds awesome. =D And, hey, you're still in college, so yeah, you're expected to have a lot to learn. Still, working with graduate students on a project with possibly tangible results? Really cool.

As for solar power, well, hopefully, the convenience will just be a stepping stone to better living in general.

As for the fan-game/hack differentiation, oh, sorry about that. I didn't really pay attention to the differences in the past, but I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for telling me. Likewise, I'll check out Pokemon Raptor. Anything with "Raptor" in the title just has to be awesome (for reasons that are somewhat related to xkcd). Alas, though, I can't read Portuguese. I'm not that great at foreign languages in general. (Italian and Spanish on a vague level, however, I might be able to get with some time.)

If you read my blog you would know that I don't have a job, and it pretty much tells everything of how I am doing right now.

Are you sure that you can't fare without a car? You could use public transportation and save up more.

As for fanfiction, oh yeah. Very rarely does a day go by when I'm not at least thinking about my own, much less actually working on one.

Also, awesome. =D You deserve props there. I admire anyone in the hard sciences, really, in part because I know they tend to be tough. Good luck with the research program as well! It's really awesome to hear you're working with something that'll (hopefully) change the world. And I mean that seriously.

As for fan games, I like to look at the threads to see what kinds of plot they come up with. Occasionally, I download a beta here and there (like Shiny Gold), and if I find one that looks really interesting, sure, I'd play the completed version. It's really nice to have something to fend off boredom when I'm offline and don't feel like writing. Got one to rec?

Sure, I've played some hacks. And I started to play your game, but as I mentioned, became distracted by the trainer tips and the texts on items like sinks and fridges (I always click those things... I'm weird like that... even though there probably is no hidden item in the fridge, I still click... ^^'). In fact, I'm of the opinion that hacks and fangames are sometimes even better than the official games - because we care more, that's what I think.

Yes, multi-region was one of the coolest things about GSC. Also, serious dragon fan + run-in with Lance + dragon clan = major win. ^o^

Of course, as one might expect, I'm hoping to include Johto, which is where the player and my own game character originally came from, and hopefully some mini-quests and the like involving the dragon clan. No real surprise to anyone who knows me. :D

But, I was seriously ticked about the new girl. I don't want mario-chick. I want Kris. I play as a girl! This is a rip-off! I want my money back! XP Yeah, I know, I didn't pay anything yet... XD I'm just being overdramatic. :P

I do always play as a girl, though... I have ever since Crystal came out. I am a girl, and I always play as one - except sometimes on my second games and my restarts. And it seriously irritates me when hackers and game developers forget that they need to: A) Do a gender check, B) Use gender-neutral language, or C) remove the option to choose your gender. It's so irritating playing as a girl through a storyline that keeps referring to you as a boy, and/or being a straight girl and having relationships implied between your female character and another girl... XD

...er, sorry about that little rant, there, by the way... XD

:x I will not win the competition, if I do I call shenanigans because I know it's not the best one.. A limit will not "kill the quality" but it's just harder to work with. It takes more talent to create something great within limits, so in fact it makes things a lot better, I think anyways. It lets you see who really does have the talent. I could paint a MASSIVE picture and it would be thought of a great because it's MASSIVE, but for our senior studio audition assignments we each had a thick square of paper, and told to draw an oreo. It sounds boring, but you could see who was really great and creative, or who was just a hard worker.

Anyways, I like Rashoumon's too but...not quite as much as Sylphiel.
