@ekriptor: why dont you just use onix and scyther till you get to ecruteak, and get metal coats from wild magnemites (they've 5% chance to hold one, you can combine finding ~40 magnemites with training against all those raticates and miltanks and so you dont have to trade to get the metal coats...

once i restarted my game, it was pearl, i think, and the second pokemon i met after i got some pokeballs was a shiny bidoof. and i couldnt save cause i hadnt deleted my old save file >_>

i switch between bulbapedia and serebii, sadly both are sloooow as ass sloooooower than slowpoke. it sucks that bulbapedia is pretty often down and serebii fails at informations about gen 1&2 (e.g. in movesets) which i find currently more interesting than the newer ones
