POISON DIARY
Started off with Bulbasaur.
Caught a level 5 Kakuna in Viridian Forest
Beat Brock in Pewter City with ease
Kakuna evolved into Beedrill
Caught a Nidoran (male) outside Mt. Moon (Route 3)
Bulbasaur evolved into Ivysaur
Caught a Zubat in Mt. Moon
Finally got through Mt. Moon having whited out once already
Caught a level 6 Ekans in Route 4
Defeated Misty with Ivysaur (very easy)
Defeated RIVAL using mainly only Nidoran, who evolved into Nidorino
Trained my Zubat on all the trainers leading up to Bill's House
Went to Bill's House
Left Cerulean City and headed for Vermillion, I am now training Ekans
Got on the SS Anne and battled all the trainers there (including RIVAL)
Got "Cut", taught it to Beedrill
Left the ship and saw it set off
Battled Lt. Surge and won mainly using my new Nidoking (evolved from Moon Stone found in Mt. Moon)
Left for Dark Tunnel
Almost whited-out in Dark Tunnel but I had Nidoking with half-health which saved me
Zubat evolved into Golbat
Entered Lavender Town and defeated all the Channelers in the Tower using Ekans who evolved into Arbok
Went west, heading for Celadon City
Got to Celadon City and beat Team Rocket and got the Silph. Scope!
Beat Erika (pretty easy), all Pokémon level 30!
Went back to Lavender Town and caught a Ghastley (level 18)
Beat Team Rocket and freed Mr. Fuji, got the Poké Flute!
Went south of Lavender Town and trained my Ghastly, she evolved pretty quickly into a Haunter
Completed Route 14 (very tough), all Pokémon are level 33!
Ivysaur evolved into Venasaur
Went to Saffron City, took on Team Rocket
Whited-out twice against RIVAL
Took down the Fighting Gym with my Beedrill
Beat Sabrina with Beedrill and Arbok
Went down Cycling Lane, very easy
Defeated Koga, all Pokémon now level 40!
Got Surf in the Safari Zone
Put Arbok in the bank for a short while and taught Lapras to Surf
Got to Cinnabar Island, Pokémon Mansion was a breeze
Gym Leader was pretty easy, used Haunter mainly
Went to the islands with Bill and got Venusaur "Frenzy Plant"
Headed for Giovanni, beat him with ease using Haunter and Venusaur
I lost to the Rival a few times so I went back and beat every trainer I hadn't fought then came back, it was quite easy in the end! Haunter and Golbat fainted, though....
I had to go and get Lapras to surf me through Victory Road and I also used it's Strength for the boulder puzzle
Okay, I traded Lapras for Haunter in my PC so my team was back again! I stocked up on Hyper Potions, Full Restores ,Revives and Full Heals and started...
THE ELITE FOUR!
Okay, Lorelei first. Beedrill has a Fighting type move so I decided I would mainly use him in this battle!
Her Dewgong nearly killed Beedrill but luckily I used a FUll Restore and wiped Dewgong out!
Venusaur and Haunter fainted but killed Slowbro and Lapras in the process
Arbok wiped out Jynx with an awesome Hyper Beam!
And now, Bruno. Venusaur handled Onix very well and killed him with little damage and one Solar Beam.
Hitmonchan was damaged by Golbat's Air Cutter but surprisingly knocked him clean out with one Counter!
Beedrill came in and finished-off Hitmonchan very easily with an Aerial Ace.
A high-level Machamp followed and Beedrill used another Aerial Ace which took Machamp down to half health.
Machamp returned the favour with a Scary Face and Cross Chop which brought Beedrill down to his health.
Again, Beedrill used Aerial Ace which had Machamp seeing red, but this battle wasn't over yet as Machamp used another Cross Chop, they were surprisingly even.
This all changed when Bruno used a Full Restore on Machamp, Beedrill had no chance now unless I used one of my precious Max Potions.
I recklessly thought there was one move left in Beedrill before I had to use a potion but this wasn't the case - Rock Tomb brought his own demise.
With Golbat fainted due to Hitmonchan's lucky blow, I decided to expose another of Machamp's weaknesses... I choose you, Haunter!
Although six levels under Machamp, I thought he could take him out easy with a Psychic. This brought Machamp down to almost dead, let's finish him off with with a Night Shade!
Amazing job Haunter, Machamp didn't stand a chance!
It was time for another Onix, time to send out Venusaur to defeat him easily.
I was using Frenzy Plant too much so I decided a Solar Beam was in order. Onix used a powerful Earthquake which took Venusaur into yellow health, but Onix was broken up by his waiting Solar Beam! Nice job, Venusaur!
Okay, now it's Bruno's last chance with his super-fast Hitmonlee. I decided that Haunter was to win this battle for me and sent him out to finish Bruno. A Psychic brought Hitmonlee down to nearly-dead, and Hitmonlee's Foresight move was a big mistake. I finished him off with an almighty Shadow Punch!
Two more to go, plus the Pokémon Champion.
I didn't have many items left but I used some Max Revives and Hyper Potions to get ready for the next battle. I spent half of my money on these items already!
Now for Agatha. I knew she would be my hardest opponent (apart from the Pokémon Master). I had to use my Poison Pokémon to the best of my ability. A mixture of Psychic, Ghost and Dark Pokémon are lethal in the right hands, and I think hers were the right hands to use them. Nidoking's been taking a backseat for the challenge so far, and for good reason. It's time to use Beedrill, Arbok, Golbat and Haunter to win me this one!
Straight in with Gengar. Arbok's Bite move nearly finished Gengar but Agatha used a Full Restore. No matter, Arbok took him out easily after that. Haunter was out in two Bites and the Level 58 Gengar got Arbok's health right down with some Shadow Balls. He used Hypnosis but luckily Arbok shed his skin. Gengar continued to use his Shadow Ball and sneakily defeated Arbok by holding him asleep with Hypnosis.
To finish Gengar #2 off, it's time for my own Haunter. Hopefully he'll get a move in before Gengar does. Haunter was out in one Shadow Ball. Golbat next, Gengar used a Hpynosis, Shadow Ball, and Nightmare to make Golbat faint. Venusaur came out next and damaged Gengar with a Frenzy Plant but I switched him for Beedrill who evaded many Hpynosises and took him out with a few Aerial Aces!
Venusaur levelled-up and Synthesis replaced Poison Powder.
Okay, her Golbat is up next. It's Golbat vs. Golbat. I confused Agatha's Golbat and its Air Cutter does virtually nothing on me. Her's snaps out of confusion and confuses me but hers is quite damaged. When her Golbat is at red health she uses a Full Restore. It'll be dead if I just keep up with these Wing Attacks! Come on Golbat, finish her! I weaken her Golbat again with a Confuse Ray, now both are confused and are the same level. An interesting battle! As she used a Full Restore on me I'm weaker. Both Golbats snap out of confusion and she continues to use Air Cutter. My Wing Attack is more effective. It's a race to see who can defeat the other first! She critically hits me with a Bite and my Golbat faints. It shouldn't be hard finishing her Golbat now! Go, Beedrill! Although there's a type disadvantage, I'm pretty sure he can handle her. Beedrill weakens Golbat into the red and Golbat defeats Beedrill just before he finished Golbat. Go, Nidoking! Nidoking finishes Golbat with a hasty Horn Attack.
Agatha's last Pokémon is up. Arbok. Nidoking stays in play and uses a heavy Earthquake on Agatha's Arbok, making light work of it. Agatha defeated!
Okay, I revive my fainted Pokémon and heal the remaining for the final battle before the Pokémon Master!
The final Elite Four member to face... Lance.
Haunter damages Gyarados but faints, so Venusaur makes light work of him.
Aerodactyl easily defeats Venusaur, Nidoking's up and uses some high-damage Horn Attacks. Arbok finishes Aerodactly off.
Now Lance sends forth Dragonite. Arbok uses a devastating Hyper Beam to get him into low health but is defeated by his might. Golbat's up now and uses a few Wing Attacks to finish Dragonite's chances.
Now to face Dragonair. I use a remaining Max Revive on Arbok and Hyper Beam Dragonair... twice. He's out and now for the final Dragonair, only Golbat and Beedrill still alive.
Dragonair confuses himself so Beedrill uses Cuts, Brick Breaks and Aerial Ace to chip Dragonair down.
Lance defeated!
And now to face my RIVAL, the Pokémon Master. I use some Max Revives and my dwindling supply of Full Restores and await...
RIVAL
Haunter vs. Pidgeot first. Haunter confuses him and uses Psychic three times, taking no damage in between as Pidgeot is helplessly confused.
Next, Rhydon. Venusaur jumps out and uses his last Frenzy Plant to take him down!
Alakazam defeats Beedrill and Haunter. Luckily it's Golbat who defeats him with an array of Wing Attacks and Air Cutters!
Now for Charizard. Arbok nearly defeats him but RIVAL uses a Full Restore and defeats Arbok. Golbat turns up and does lots of damage before Nidoking finishes off Charizard with a Horn Attack!
Now for Exeggutor. Nidoking uses an Earthquake but is sent to sleep so Haunter takes over. Exeggutor tries an Egg Bomb but it goes straight through Haunter and so he uses a Shadow Punch to exeggute him!
Finally it's Gyarados. Venu charges up a Solar Beam and damages Gyarados greatly but Gyarados uses a Dragon Rage and Thrash moves to defeat Venusaur. It's all on you, Haunter! Just as Gyarados nearly faints, RIVAL uses a Full Restore! Hautner confuses Gyarados and uses a Night Shade to hurt him but Dragon Rage is very powerful! Haunter is defeated one move before Gyarados' demise. With no more items to heal anyone and with Nidoking on half health, this doesn't look good. Gyarados; Hydro Pump misses and Nidoking uses this chance to slam him with a Horn Attack, right between the eyes!
