Well, the hacker has been doing other stuff but plans on continuing after that's out of the way. You could still keep the name regardless, no-one's going to stop you AFAIK. ~Red's hack is a Red hack, so you might want to put "(Fire Red Hack)" in your hack's thread title.

Also there is a hack already called Wisteria, by ~Red a.k.a ~Ashandmisty~. The content looks good though but posting whole maps is a bit too much of a giveaway.

ASM knowledge may may help with reverse engineering but if someone overdoes it on warping the code side of things then their overall hack could be arguably worse off as a consequence, not as they intended. It's like someone wanting their food well-done but then going too far and cremating it. I...

ROM hacking isn't dying, outside of Pokemon hacking and a few other high-selling title scenes the average quality is pretty damn high. There are a number of so called good Pokemon hacks too, still being developed, so it isn't over for Pokemon entirely though. I don't think it's inspiration...

Piracy is copyright infringement, if you stopped that then you would be out of a hobby. You'd have to spend your time just playing the official games instead of making your own (largely) illegal yet fun derivative works and playing other peoples. Piracy is still piracy even if you're not making...
