I would say it's due to power creep; the rosters are now full of useful moves, and useful moves only. I wonder if someday if moves like Flamethrower will be supplanted by slightly better 100pow 100acc versions.

Naw. I'd rather watch a whole series all at once (relatively-speaking) than regularly come back to the same thing 'for the latest events to unfold' or whatever. I just don't understand the excitement for that sort of thing, and since the episodes tend to be long (from what I've seen), it's not...

Really now? I feel disconnected unless the characters have some sort of canonical state, and that goes for names.

Why not have it Green & Blue, at that? Or Orange & Blue? I'd keep Red & Blue though, most appealing for marketing and so forth as these are regarded as opposite colours.
