  • PTSAI is a bit different from PS - at least it seemed to me. So I hope you're doing alright with it. The animation ready now? :D

    Also, can I make you a tag? I don't like seeing your signature empty like it is right now and I'd like to do something to show my appreciation to you. You've been a great A&D member, after all. :]
    Depends on what i'm feeling up to at the moment. Some time ago I had a dragon theme earlier cuz I was in a dragon-ish mood. Right now, my likeness for Typhlosion/Houndoom/Arcanine was rekindled so i'm currently doing those.
    Uhh, yea I was bored and kinda distraught with today's events so i decided to change to typhlosion early. Houndoom will return tho
    Not shoehorning at all! I'm currently working as an apprentice (both in comic work and tattooing, actually) because money is tight, as always. But hey, one thing at a time. I'm lucky to have really great people I'm working under.. it's just that none of that work required a need for digital resources that weren't already available to me, so I never got around to developing my own digital style and thus strayed towards traditional art.

    And thanks! My Kimono girl was just an old doodle that got carried away. I went crazy with some new markers I got (another example of my marker enthusiasm would be my Gliscor) so I decided to try out some new screening techniques. Tbh, I got the bird design from the bottom of a pair of sandles I decided to throw out before winter lmao. But then I turned them into like.. little Ho-Ohs. But yeah, it's old and unfinished and will probably never be finished. Glad it caught your attention though! n_n;

    Ah, yes, my albums. Long story there. When I said I've never posted my art anywhere other than PC, I meant it. All of my art goes from my camera, to my PC albums, to my gallery. I don't have Photobucket or anything like that.. so I just used my albums as a conduit to my thread (I think I lose a lot of quality do that though..). Call me old fashioned! But originally, I was doing art for a friend here so I made an Album dedicated to that so he could view my progress any time he wanted. Then I started posting my own original art. So yeah, it's kind of like my draft box to the extent that it's where I decide what goes into my gallery and what doesn't. Anyway, most of my original art is posted in my art album, save a few Latias doodles I think. So my pink girl is in my gallery under "Fables Character". :3

    Brother, just post a gallery already. You're breaking my damn heart over here. I know you've got some serious talent, I can just smell it. :o And I'll bet that you've got some real gems stashed away in whatever collection of art you've got hidden. We [on behalf of everyone in A&D] want to see it!
    User profile? I hardly know 'er!

    Womp wommmppp. I'm sorry, what a terrible joke. I just noticed your profile picture and couldn't resist the urge to respond to it in that manner. Ok bye
    Everyone is *that* kind of kid in high school. xD And [most] figure it all out by college. I did the same thing, granted it took me longer. High school was so below me.. but now that I'm well into my 20s and have a better perspective on life, school is the best damn part of my day. But it's great that you have the resources to be able to join a few lectures from Pixar / Disney / any high profile animation company. My expertise falls very short of animation, so I have a harder time identifying with the work load. I'm more of a comic book / tattoo artist with my current skill set. But hey, with the internet, it's never too early to start!

    But I digress.

    Personally, I feel like you have a grasp on what "mechanically" or "technically" should be done or is good about a particular artist and piece. Whereas I focus more on the emotional side of the spectrum. Maybe it'll be best to just say that our critiquing style compliment each other nicely. :3 But thanks nonetheless! That's really nice to hear! And as always, A&D will get there in time.
    I totally hear you. High school is for learning how to learn. Personally, I'd be a student forever if someone would just pay me for it. :p

    But yeah, I'm in the same boat. I've never taken "formal" university level art classes either. I've done a few things here and there-- but they've all been through personal friends. Still, you've got some serious skills and they show in the way you talk. You and Dero have completely overhauled A&D into an active, welcoming place best known for excellent art critiques! n_n;
    Well, you're easily one of the best reviewers in A&D. You've had classical training in art that you're not telling anyone about, haven't you? :p
    Both from tumblr. I edited the background on the avatar tho, not that it's saying much. I left credits and links in my sig
    I was trying out the animation window in photoshop for the first time! :D
    Opened up an old drawing, added stuff and hilarity ensued.

    Thank you! I just felt that mouth is perfect for Gastly. Its usual one is so dull and boring.
    Sounds awesome.

    I don't really see myself working much with 3D animation either, but I feel it's a good tool to be able to work with. If not for anything else then to be able to really appreciate the effort put into 3D-animated films. :P
    You should go for it. I asked to see it before you do just in case the animation you were talking about was just a short one. If you have put a lot of effort, I think it deserves being seen. :D So yes, make a thread. And throw in that you have my permission in there somewhere as well. Since I wouldn't wanna wake up to 3-4 "Not enough works" reports, haha. And I totally understand you not working on your ideas right away. I know some people who do that. Their results are awesome most of the time. :3

    It is upto you. You can choose to upload practice stuff along with the animation or just the animation itself. I don't mind. :D
    Nnnno, we don't. Mostly just PhotoShop and AfterEffects for 2D and Mudbox and maya for 3D.

    There is definitely a certain charm to flash animations! Even though we don't use it in classes, all our school computers still do have flash, so we can play around with it if we want to.
    I'm really nostalgic about old flash games and films on those random sites! Animator vs. Animation and the likes! <3
    Ahh. Thanks for that. Your right, opinions are just opinions and I should just leave it at that. Not worth getting worked up over.

    Well, anyway i've been meaning to ask where you learned to draw and what not? Cuz I remember when you posted some nidoran art, and it was pretty good.
    Well, After Effect allows for puppet pinning, which basically means you can add pointers to images and pull them in any way you like. It's what I used for the girl's arms and legs in the Darkness animation. :3

    We don't use Flash in school any more. Teachers going on about how it's an outdated program and a dying media. D:
