  • Wow, a wall of text. ._. sorry about that.

    Comics man. ;o; I can go on forever.
    lol, I just meant people who only have a personality on the internet, and that personality is a regurgitated, typical "internet" archetype. Concluding that they are probably very nice, yet socially awkward people. This obviously isn't necessarily my opinion, but you get the imagery I'm setting up here.

    Yeah, Wolverine does tend to be... very good at coming back to life. :x Happened in Avengers vs X-Men too. He was completely destroyed by the Phoenix Force and ~miraculously~ recovered. Again, it's just the writers illustrating the devastating "power" of a force and the protagonist's abilities to overcome and triumph, be it physical or mental. That's the wonderful thing about comics! Take Avengers vs X-Men, for example. That was the climax of a story that had been occurring since the 50s. Have you seen the X-Men movies? Because they hint to an AvX movie (in my opinion) which seems to correspond suspiciously well with the release of the Avengers movie (although, I think they're producing a second movie but idk). Anyway, unless the writers specifically deem something as otherwise, everything is canon. Everything is being carried over from when Wolverine was a sketch on the back of a paper plate. It's all relevant.

    As for the biological end of it, well, it's a mixed bag. Wolverine always had mutant DNA which provided him with claws and supernatural regenerative abilities. I'm fairly confident that they released an arc about Wolverine and his powers actually, so you can always pick that up if you want to learn more! From what I understand, and according to how it is explained, Wolverine can be reduced to a skeleton, much like he was in that atomic explosion. So long as some of his DNA remains intact and he's not in contact with the Muramasa blade, that mutant DNA produces and replicates all of his cells as they originally existed. It's also been mentioned that, since Wolverine had been reduced to a skeleton (or injured to an absurd extent) sooo many times, his regenerative abilities have adapted to perform faster and better than other mutants with the same skill. So yeah, Logan is pretty broken but hey, he's the main character. :p And in my opinion, he's way less broken than some superheros. I mean, Xavier has died, like, died died, at least four times now. But, Wolverine is only broken because he's in a universe of mostly non-broken characters (save Hope, but she doesn't even know she's broken). Unlike Thor, who is literally a God. Like.. omnipresent, all powerful, lightning bolts from the sky, God. But, when paired against his brother Loki, Thor seems rather tame due to his tendencies towards order. But, pair up Thor and Wolverine.. and there's no doubt Wolverine would "lose" (not die-- just be beaten to submission, which is like the same thing lol). At the end of the day though, all the characters, good or evil, will keep coming back. That's why we played those games as children. They were too much fun and told too good of a story to just let them die.

    Topping my personal list of broken heroes is definitely Superman though. Easily. It's like... DC just gave him powers as they thought of them. :/ It partially the reason DC began the New 52. Everything just got so messy that they literally started over. It was like... 700+ issues of Green Lantern just vanished. Hal Jordan is dead. The New 52 wasn't really a good move for some characters, but it really needed to happen for others. Batman got a total revamp and it's one of the best current Batman comics in existence. They're on like issue 16 or 17 right now-- so it's not too late if you want to jump in. ;) I highly recommend it!

    Well, Spiderman is dead. Like, Peter Parker is gone. Dead. Died. Like actually for real. ;( Now a bunch of "avanging Spiderman" books have come out and they even did a "Spidermen" run with Ultimate Spiderman (Miles Morales) and Peter Parker. But what's hard to wrap your head around is the fact that there is like.. a billion universes in the comic world. Peter Parker only died in the most important universe. He's still alive in the past and whenever they see fit to revive him for storyline purposes. But the singular universe that was The Amazing Spiderman, no longer contains Peter Parker. u_u;; I'm not even a huge Spiderman fan, but it's still sad.
    Well, I did the charity work to ultimately donate to autism research. ;) So my personal interaction with the children was rather limited. And let's face it, all children --autistic or not-- are fascinated by colorful bits of string and shiny objects spinning at the end of that string (going fast too! @_@;). As for the art therapy well, I would be lying if I said it wasn't a burden. It's difficult, no doubt. But, well you know, greater good and whatnot. Like I said, it was art therapy aimed at healing grief in children which, well, let's just say I can relate to that. I spend a lot of time being involved in my community so at the end of the day it falls under the umbrella of my utopia-inspired societal reformations. :p

    You have the right vernacular for story telling. I agree that it would be your strong suit. You're very articulate, and from what I can gather, you seem to be pretty good with people (as in, not the generic, ever-present, socially inept internet boys) so I can definitely see you moving forward with idea presenting / launching / and organizing. Just from these conversations, that's pretty apparent, imo. Your perfectionist is showing. ;)

    Ah, the Incredible Hulk. Such a classic. <33; And don't worry, you didn't spoil anything! ;) I have to admit, he's not my favorite, although I do tend to air on Marvel more than anyone else. But yes! Many a legend surrounds Mr. Banner! As for him dying, you know just as well and I do that he can, they're just using the good old literary devices they use cause he's just not supposed to die yet. You know the formula man, I don't need to explain it to you. :p There is so, so much great storytelling in comic books.. I just.. I need more than this VM box to explain all of it. And hey! I'm sure you know of The Walking Dead through all of that nonsense AMC stuff. Try reading the book if you want a real story.
    You have experience then! I'm studying Game Development now, I'm also working on my own little Pokémon game. I'm not sure what I want to be, but I'm going to follow the design route I think.
    i know that's the degree i'm actually going for is graphic design. then i'm going back to get a web design degree.

    i know i'm practicing drawings. we're learning about perspective. x_x.
    lol okay good because i love the color green(: it makes me smile.

    xD well right now i'm in college for graphic design and i'm taking a drawing class. trust me i need it :P i know how to use all the programs i just need help with drawing xD
    oh wow..

    I just started sinking my teeth into your articles. You're so right! Those Nidorina, that "middle" generation or whatever that abomination is called... it's hideous! Ugh, it's so ugly! They destroyed all semblance of femininity or even a mammalian structure! I actually sat down with my boyfriend and made him looks at all the "agreed upon" renditions of Nidorina, and he said that the large-headed green thing is definitely the most familiar to him. Isn't that appalling?! I never noticed it before ;; and I actually cut out all those concept designs from my Base Set #1 TCG user manual and taped them to my door when I was like 10, so I have no excuses for never seeing it. I'd love to see a gif showcasing Nidorina's sprites throughout the generations and how it's changed, cause I'm pretty sure all those errors made it in game too. AND THIS?!?! THIS?!?! Broken. Both of them. Broken.

    Ugh.. the bad news is, I'll bet these inconsistencies exist all over the place. Which is to be expected! It's not out of the ordinary for certain characteristics to be deliberately removed or lost in translation. But, your article begs the question, "to what extent?" u_u;; Poor Nidos.. they have suffered so. Well, you've convinced me to be more mindful about Pokemon as I draw them. I'm going to stick with good old originals! (Or just use my best creative judgement-- even some of the Sugimori originals are, well, lackluster when compared to the latest). I'm gunna check out that Nidoking in my gallery now... See where I too have fallen into the trap of familiarity and conformity. ;(
    Well that's just it.. It was a super low-intensity kind of thing where I'd get a few sessions in here and there. Which was informative and I'm very grateful for the opportunity! But the problem with not paying for lessons, is the consistency. It's like, great, you want to teach me things... just not with any set schedule and maybe for like 15 minutes next week if you don't have to take your kid sister to planned parenthood? Oh, and while you're on your way can you pick me up some milk? :/ I mean, I'm lucky and I know it, but there are just as many shortcomings to being that "friend of a friend" as there are benefits. At the end of the day, I'm just some girl who's pockets are empty. Charity can only get you so far. Nevertheless, I did acquire skills that will deepen my portfolio and make me more desirable for employers. And it got me some ins at NY ComicCon!

    For real? I thought Pokestick was like my age. xD That's hilarious! He's so cute now!

    Definitely know what you mean-- but I'll take homework over graveyard shift any day. u_u; I love being able have a job and some semblance of security, but being belittled for a task I broke my back over is not worthwhile. I like getting 100%'s and happy faces on 8 page papers that I can crack out in just under 2 hours (which is a very ridiculously untruthful and generous accurate estimate! xDDD) Especially going back to school as an older student. I'm just happy to have, well, what I have!

    It's funny you mention therapeutic careers. My boyfriend and I actually participate in a charity called Eli Hops for Hope-- which focuses on getting yoyos into the hands of autistic children. The whole thing inspired me to being an art therapy project in the local Bereavement Counseling center and, I have to say, it was really, really rewarding. Art is great, and video games are a close second, but something about helping people makes you feel more whole as a person. It... satisfies your soul, you know?

    Speaking of video games though, exactly what facet of game development are you looking to get into? On that note, what genre of game are you hoping to develop in the first place? Cause you don't seem like a Modern Warfare guy to me (then again, I could be wrong about that, you've surprised me more than once already so...).
    i'm sorry D: should i tone down the green?

    well you are. i'm jealous of your artwork. tell me your secrets xD
    Small edit. I never actually went to Joe Kubert's as a student. I can't afford it. ;o; What I said sounded a bit misleading with the whole, "I live close to comic school -- I'm not formally trained" thing. But, I did have my portfolio reviewed and accepted, so that counts for something! And it has never stopped me from shopping in their art stores / making my face known around campus! :p
    Well, I suppose it has to be a mix of learned and innate behavior. But most of my "training" came from time. I always loved drawing and I've been doing it for a long as I can remember. And you know, blah blah, padding with life experience and whatnots. I think the best thing I have working in my favor is such undeserved luck. I happened to be in a Western Civ class with one of the most prolific comic book artists. And we became friends! I just happen to live 20 minutes away one of the best and only comic book schools on the east coast (Joe Kubert's). I happened to be a friend of a friend some amazing tattoo artists who took me on for a summer. This is where most of my training comes from. Unfortunately, that luck ends when I have to pay for their services. ;( So, you know..

    ..Still starving over here. :p But it's true, I'd be lying if I said I've never been trained. It's just not formal-- and most of it was occupational. Otherwise, I learned perspective, color theory, shading, everything on my own. But I'm also not some young gun, at least, not anymore. :x Many of the galleries you see in A&D (much as you already know) are done by 16 - 17 year old's, who's talent is more or less equivalent to mine at that age. I dunno, maybe that's where all that "life experience" shows. xP

    Finally, and easily one of the most important things that lends to my ability, comes by way of my insatiable desire to learn. That's why I've been really picking your brain about character development. I can't get enough of it! I love learning and applying new things. Like I told you a while back, I'd be a student forever if someone would just start paying me for it. What can I say? I can't help myself! So yeah, lmao, that's really it. Save a few things here and there. But I'm glad I caught your attention if anything! n_n;
    I have all the main games bar 4 but only beat 2 and 3. Should go back to MGS1 and beat that one though. It's a one of a kind series but frankly it's actually not something I'm a fan of. I love the attention to detail and everything but writing and story make my head hurt.

    Kojima never seems pleasant about the series. Poor guy, stuck with the series for a long while, if not ever.

    I probably won't get that game for a whiiile, haha. I'm talking June or July. :P
    o.o;; You mean by mooching advice out of talented artists such as yourself? :p
    Haha all of your posts are good :D, especially in Art and Design :3, how you do it is beyond me. ;;

    I think I have Photoshop on my computer but I never got around to playing with it, I might sometime :3, do a few doodles and see what happens. :D. And it's great to get finals over so you can take a little break but wow your school is definitely excelerated ;;. My day has been pretty good :3, the weather could of been better ;-;, but overall I just chatted with some friends and also had a bit of a drama session :3, which was interesting! Overall it was just a typical day though for me haha :>.
    That was totally a compliment. XD; I was in awe, you know. :]

    And yes, I have noticed it as well. And it is something that has bugged me for quite a while. I've tried to get these people to post more in others' galleries but haven't really succeeded much, I guess. It really feels weird to see how there are 20+ artists on this forum and barely 3-4 contribute actively to maintain activity. Honestly though, I've no idea why they do that. And no, I haven't been a mod for too long. Barely a little more than a month, perhaps. And yes, I try my best to post around. Though if it weren't exam time right now, you'd probably see me posting in every single gallery every single day. :p Hopefully, once I'm done with them and return in April, I'll do my best to make A&D a much better place.

    Haha. Well, my works did suck in comparison to yours, Alex's and others' and that's a fact. :p And yeah, you're right. My interest in pokemon has, pretty much, died. Same for digimon. I used to be in LOVE with them in 2009 and I used to get anxious whenever a new game got announced. But nothing pokemon related excites me these days.
    Hehe, well, I'd definitely love to contribute something to your gallery, but there's no guarantee it will be anytime soon. :p And nope! I've never posted my artwork anywhere but here! I mean, there's a /chance/ that some like, happy birthday doodles leaked from here in 2011 and are floating around.. but other than that, there's no record of me or my art on the internet! I dunno, I guess I never really thought of posting my work on the internet because I get all the attention / critiquing / advice I could ever ask for outside of it. And i never had any kind of agenda to back it up, so it seemed a little silly-- at least considering that my "name" as a professional is already as known as I need it to be, you know? I suppose I could get behind the idea of hosting a website though... I just doubt I'll have the time. :o

    Well, along side of my likes and dislikes, I just posted an anatomy test of Larvitar as a character. Obviously, Larvitar's shape doesn't really lend well to positioning or structure in general, so I elongated her legs and etc etc. So besides developing Larvitar as a character, I'm just trying to iron out how it'll actually look when I decide to draw her. I mean, I can sit around all day and /think/ about how she's going to be into video games, but at the end of the day that doesn't make her look any more or less like a Larvitar. That and there's no real room for any distinguishing characteristics like hair x_x; And any other features (specifically feminine ones) seem to define the character too much before she's even established, like red pout-y lips that beg, "take me". It's like... no thank you. xD So I've kept Larvitar very minimalistic in terms of clothing or exaggerated features.

    And ya, A&D should be all about the oekaki, but it just sort of sits there neglected... maybe it's because the Showdown! PC server is so active? Idk, but it's a great tool that the regulars should start getting into! I mean, I'm sure they all love it.. but maybe they just stopped using it.

    UGH I love Lissaaaa! Yes I totally did see that animation and instantly fell in love with it! <333; All of your characters are so amazing. And I love how they just /happen/. There's nothing forced in there and it comes across as so natural and believable when you draw or talk about them. I'm not gunna lie, I'm jealous! n_n;
    Aww you commented in my gallery! <333;

    Yeah, I guess that would be confusing lol. I drew those Larvitar. They are mine. Hawkeye / Cyclops / Grievous are not, however. That's what I meant. I wanted to let Larvitar's personality grow organically, like you said.. so I figured to good starting point would be to implant my /likes/ into Larvitar-- my likes being Starwars and comic books, you know?
    Lmao, it's okay. Your rambling would only be annoying if it didn't actually make sense. Regardless of the direction, you make a good point, so the wall of text isn't as bad as you probably think. ;p Long story short, I don't mind people just browsing either. But I'm also hard pressed to believe that it's /so/ hard to contribute. I mean... maybe it's just the artist in me.. but I feel innately compelled to respond so something that stands out to me. In fact, it almost feels wrong not to! That's part of why I subscribed to Aqua Bunny, after all (which I'll get to in a bit). That being said, I harbor no resentment to users browsing, yet not responding, to my own gallery. I really just feel for anyone else who's actually looking for reviews. I realize everything that one person can say about my gallery has already been said-- but i still update because I want those browsing members to know that I'm invested in A&D, and I can be equally as invested in their art if they choose to contribute!

    Anyway, enough jargon. Aqua Bunny~~~! <33333333; So, if I said I was in love, it wouldn't even begin to describe how I feel. If you're launching any new little projects for those Nidos in the future, let me know about it. I definitely want to be involved and contribute in some way. I just love the message of the entire site and everything it represents. It's hard not to feel engaged when there's someone with such a strong campaign supporting all those cuties! I cannot wait to see what you do next! :D <3333;
