  • I learn things slowly. Lately i just do text hacking and pointer. Also, i can edit evolution and level-up move data successfuly. I'am still far from you. :)
Ow, thanks alot friends. Also, how Woods going. There is no update for it lately.

Btw, you have skeetendo profile style and that is great. :)
Hmm, you've a good point there. Technically YOU would be making the game, and so it wouldn't really fall under copyright. At least I would assume it wouldn't- but, if you are planning to do the likes of this, I'd be checking with the Higher Staff just to be sure. I reckon it'd be okay, but to be honest I'm not too familiar with homebrew and stuff, and where it would lie in terms of rules/laws.
I see what you mean though, and by that logic it should be okay, but if you plan on doing it I recommend contacting a Higher Staff member about it first.
You know, I've pondered this question myself a couple of times. To be honest, I'm not entirely sure what the correct answer is. Because you're developing a game, it should belong in Game Development but because you play the game on an emulator, it also belongs in Emulation. It's a paradox, really. Seeing how each section has its own crowd of people, if I were you I would put the thread wherever you think the right crowd would see it.

edit: I just read giradialkia's VM to you and I'd like to point out that the rules prohibit linking to commercial ROMs. Posting a ROM that you, yourself, made is perfectly OK, in my mind.

edit2: I just read your response to giradialkia's VM and yes, it should be fine. :D
You didn't ask me this, but I wanted to give my input anyway:

So one would be making a game from scratch- thus, it'd fit in Games Development. BUT, it's technically be a ROM, and seeing as you'd be the only one who has the original ROM, you'd have a hard time distributing it here, as ROM linking is against the rules in every area of the forum, as I'm sure you're aware.
Hey man, yeah still busy though I've stil done the odd bit to Violet, hopefully more soon. I'll have to send you a development version to play around with sometime.
I SUPPORT YOUR HACK!!!!!!!! REALLY IMPRESSIV HACK GREAT STORY LINE!!!!! I will take your Banner!!
Waiting to terminat your hack to download It!!!!
Seems that everyone is being busy lately, huh?

Btw, I already have a concept for my hack. Still ASM drive me crazy. I try editing the intro to make it load a trainer sprite instead of the marill sprite. I've found the offset of Oak ASM script, but somewhat could not find the marill one... Odd...

You know, IIMarckus going to rearrange the whole Skeetendo board?

I don't know what he think, but tutorial section would be useful if he make it. Megamap really make things more confusing with the map arrange by mapbank and the backward pointer in the connection data :P
Of course I'm fine. I will start a hack soon after i know how ASM work. I spend my time to learn ASM while improving my spriting skill. Digging more informations in old forums, reading old threads, and make the ROM locked every time i try to change something with ASM. Well, it's all fun, with exception of reading old thread = boring... Haha
Hm, we try to weed out most of the threads asking questions better suited for the stickies (you have no idea how many of those we get on a daily basis). Feel free to report one if I stupidly approve one. But yeah, a lot of these threads are kinda pointless. That, and they're starting to look awfully similar to the threads in the Scrapbox of old, which is not something I want to deal with. The problem is that there's really no clear definition of what type of threads should go there. giradialkia and myself will have to discuss this.
Hey man. I'm good thank you, busy time next week as I'm preparing to move out of my family home. Regarding Violet, I was getting to grips with Assembly but put it aside for a bit as disassembling by hand can get a bit monotonous, and I got a bit lost to be honest while trying to workout how triggers work, so I took a break to have a little fun working on a newish basic hack(just a new land using existing scripts) that's based on an unreleased precursor to the current Violet demo.
@altariaking: Fail. Please go trolling someone else. Every other post like that, here, will be removed.
    You too now....

You obviously have no clue how Advance Map works. First of all, you actually don't just press buttons, you actually have to use your imagination and transfer it onto advance map. "Will this look good their, what if I move this over here, oh, that doesn't look too good, I'll change it!" Mapping is creativity, mapping is art, and mapping with a hex editor takes hours, especially on 3rd gen. I am getting so pissed off with adults who come on to a forum based off a kids game just to say "I am awesome, and you're doing everything wrong!", well newsflash, it's a 3+ game, nobody cares except the most over-obsessed fans. So before acting like you know everything, make sure you actually do. Kthxbai.
I'm deleting that, because I hate you for being right :)
Nope, I'm not. But, give a guy a break, eh? Mods are people too :P
It's funny: I actually had someone tell me that ASM stood for that exact same thing ("Advanced Scripting Method") in an MSN conversation almost two years ago, before I really had any idea what it meant.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go search that thread to figure out where he (Equin) got that idea from and edit any instances of "Advanced Scripting Method" I find.
