I actually like Chikorita and its evolution line. Everyone I know who plays Pokémon seems to think it's one of the worst starters ever. I think Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald was a boring Gen. Never could get into it.

From the moment I saw the artwork for him, I wanted to pick Charmander. I love that little dude. Bulbasaur is second - I feel a bit sorry for the guy, seems like he never gets the love he deserves!

I think character customization is way overdue. On the other hand, this gen will be the first gen where you'll really be able to tell. Previous generations' player sprites were too small to make a whole lot of difference, imo. In any case, I'm super excited for it!

I actually haven't put that much thought into it. I know I'm picking Fennekin as my starter, and I'm definitely going to go with Gengar on top of that. I'm going with Bulbasaur as my Kanto starter, but I'm unsure whether I'll want him in my first team - so many new Pokémon to try out!

Hopefully on the release day...these past few days have been complete agony, Idk what I'm going to do to occupy myself until I get it. I remember when I was waiting to get my copy of The Sims 3 in 2009...got it a whole 3 weeks post-release date. I was not a happy camper.

Serena! I've always chosen the female characters when possible. Although I have to say, this generation's protagonists both have a very cool design - I think it's more simplistic and with the customization abilities, I think everyone will like this gen's protagonists.
