Never heard of the program called "Virtual Machines" In my class we use VMWare, and Virtualbox, I also use Vbox at home to emulate Ubuntu Server 10.10 on my Windows Server 2003 box. I downloaded like one of everything from Dreamspark. lol

I <3 Google. I've had several people call me a Google fan boy, and I'll be the first to admit it. I have an Android phone, I use Google Chrome, and I was even lucky enough to get a Cr-48. I've even bought some stuff from the Google Store. :D I would freaking love to work there. I know they use Linux too, which is one of the reasons I deiced to start playing with Linux in case I need it.

lol, I love one upping people if the occasion is right, and that was the right occasion. Sounds about like me in a gen ed class I had to take titled "Introduction to Microcomputer Applications," we were given 3 hours for the 50 question final, I took 9 minutes and only missed one due to not reading the question right. Do you ever catch a teacher's mistakes like in math class?

It's a little disappointing that girls are rare in the I.T. field. For me its hard to find a girl that I can chat with about something that is as exciting as tech. But for you its actually good. Not only do you have plenty of the opposite gender to talk to, but when it comes to jobs it would be easier for you to get a job because of the gender ratio, companies are probably more likely to hire you.

You are forgetting about Me, Vista is like 10,000 times better than Windows Me. I don't like XP, and am actually kind of glad that it dies off this year. I like Vista actually. I haven't had too many issues since SP2. And 7 is just awesome, 'cept the task bar, I hate 7 task bar. We have two computers per student in my class, one with Vista, and one with XP. I always use the Vista machine.

It was actually pretty easy once I knew what to do, but I had to Google what I need to do because I'm not a huge user of Linux. I wouldn't mind using it more, but I'm working on Windows Certifications, so its not a priority right now.

sudo su is your friend in Linux. And your so lucky, I had to do my classes on Vista because Windows 7 books are back ordered. Maybe I can just get an exam cram for it since Vista and 7 should be similar enough to give me a good idea.

If you want to really mess with your class mates figure out their login info and login remotely while they are using their computer, then run the shutdown command for like 10 minutes out. Oh man that was funny.


EDIT: I am feeling accomplished, I just added eth0 to /etc/network/interfaces, and mounted a usb flashdrive in Ubuntu server, I've never done this much stuff before from terminal haha...

Windows and Linux are a lot a like when it comes to command line / terminal input. Only major difference is that Linux is case sensitive, which can be a major PITA if you ask me.

What certifications are you going for? I'm gonna get my A+ and MCTIP. Microsoft classes are kind of a pain at first, it takes a little getting use, they like to be annoying and play words to make you second guess yourself, or change the answer based on wording. Needless to say it has started to affect my daily life. lol

As long as it is getting warmer I couldn't care less about rain and what not, at least as it isn't snow.

I've only got this month and the next month untill I'm out of my focus classes, then its back to gen eds untill March of next year when I graduate with an Associates of Applied Science, and hopefully I'll have my Microsoft certifaction by then as well. What filed of IT are you going into? I'm more into Computer Networking and Windows Server Administration. Though I am trying to play with Linux so I will have a little experience should the need arasie.

I can't wait for Sunday, I'm gonna get Black. I'm disappointed I have to work at 5 p.m and the closest midnight release Gamestop is ~90miles away. So I may have to wait until 12 when the store normally opens on Sunday. I really hope they open early (10?). I remember getting Soul Silver at 10am so maybe they will open then, I really hope so. I'm so getting Mijumaru, I'm having a hard time adjusting to the English names, especially for Futachimaru. Oh well, at least Wednesday is over, just a couple more days till I'll spend every waking minute playing a game when I should be studying. lol

Hi, I've seen you around a couple of times, but never really noticed that you and I have a birthday only a few days apart and while I wouldn't normally mention it, I see that you are also going into the I.T. field, and you seem to like Oshawott, I figured that we have enough in common for me to provoke a converstation.

The snow is basically gone now, just showing how much they exaggerated the two hour delay. I'm just ready for spring to be honest, I don't want to be running track in the snow.
