Okay then, well, this will be fun......

What if... We called the "The Ultimate Battle BG tutorial." Then we had you post your tutorial. Then, right after on the next post, I post my whole section explaining how the table is set up and how to expand it. Then I will go into how I made a patch to allow the control of battle bgs, explain how it works, and then provide a video to show it working. Then it will still be a tutorial in two parts, and we will both be able to edit our indivigual sections should we need to.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't belong in R&D because it really doesn't need anymore research:p. we just need to document the rest of the table, but the ASM itself is done and in the patch.

Another idea is that you post your tutorial and I'll post this patch with the explanation and then we put big bold links in each to the other.

Okay, I have a ready made patch for you to test! Var 0x40F7 controls the background. Just set it to the background number you want to be displayed or 0 for the default background. The background table has been moved to 0xF10000 to allow for expansion, and the routines for controling it are at 0xF00000.

Edit: For anyone snooping around on DrFuji's vms, this patch will be released very soon. If I catch anyone using it before then, well, let's not go into detail on that. Just refer to my username if you need more info.

I ran into some problems with the RAM I was using not being saveable, which ment the background would reset if you saved and closed the game. So, I talked to Jambo, Darth, and Mat and I learned how to load and use Vars! So, now var 0x40F7 will control battle backgrounds.

I have to journey to the Cave of Internet Capabilities to get them back, and I JUST sat down. >.>
