Honestly what would help most is someone with experience with the pokemon games playing my game, or a blind person playing it (although I got plenty of them playing it already lol!) OR BOTH LOL. All my stuff is written in Game maker because I have a shoddy choice in languages preference for it.
Anyways, sounds like you are at least visually impaired, uh, if you don't mind me asking, how intense is it? Obviously you're not fully blind like my best friend but it sounds like you have some issues. Sometimes I use a screen reader because my eyes hate the cold and light, and, well, in winter you get a lot of that if the sun is shining lol. I have terrible depth perception without my glasses too. Honestly though calling me "visually impaired" is like saying someone who stubbed their toe needs to call the ambulance though lol
Don't worry! You'll get the hang of it eventually. I didn't start until I was 19 lol. And braillemon was my first big project. GM is good for teaching the basics but I heard it's not really that accessible, so if you're 100% relying on a screen reader, well that's no good. I started with Java, I prefer languages that follow a similar syntax myself.
I'm sure there are some applications to suit your musical needs at least. I'll ask my buddy when he's online (he's busy being all introverted right now lol). I actually made an audio tutorial on how to use LSDJ but I'm not sure how good it is LOL
If you want I can send the next release (which will have saving) to you when I get it out. :) It goes up to right before Mt. Moon.
