Day 10 - Least Favorite Pokemon Type:

Most likely Water. There are just so many of them, and most are either boring, forgettable, or just ones that I don't like.

Day 10 - Least Favourite Pokémon Type

Right now, Fairy, because it's horribly under-utilised and feels shoehorned in. It'll take at least two more generations before I feel any differently in all probability, unless we get a massive number of new Pokemon in Sun and Moon. Maybe I'm still sore that they gave some Pokemon the Fairy typing and left others (the Lake Guardian trio) out of it, but it feels more like a waste of space designed solely to balance out the metagame than it does a valid addition right now.

So, once they fix that, it'll probably go back to Fighting - because Fighting types really are almost universally hideous - but until then...

It's a tie between Grass and Electric. While two of my top ten favorite Pokémon are Grass-types, and both of those types have nice immunities, I've never really liked using them. Electric doesn't even have a versatile Mega.

Also, Mega Venusaur gives me nightmares, another reason I've never really liked the Grass type. Grass is also too overlooked. Have any of you noticed that none of the Elite Four or 5th-8th Gym Leaders specialize in the Grass-type? If Grass gets the love it deserves, then I can consider letting Electric be my number one least favorite type.

    Day 01: Favourite Pokémon
    - Bellsprout. I love natural looking pokemon and I love grass types.

    Day 02: Least favourite Pokémon
    - uh idk.. probably a pokemon from gen 5.. the elemental monkeys come to mind.

    Day 03: Favourite starter Pokémon
    - Bulbasaur. I love all its evolutions (ivysaur the most) and it's usable.

    Day 04: Favourite Eeeveelution
    - Flareon. Flareon was my original favorite and it just hasn't changed. It's so cute and it's one of the few fire types i find aesthetically pleasing anymore.

    Day 05: Favourite legendary Pokémon
    - either regice or zygarde. i especially love the concept behind zygarde.

    Day 06: First Pokémon experience
    - im pretty sure i just so happened to catch the first episode on tv and it was all downhill from there.

Day 07: Most memorable Pokémon experience
    - i really don't know. maybe the first time i won the pokemon league.

Day 08: Favourite Pokémon media (eg games, animé, etc)
    - def the games. it's the only one that's stuck with me now.

    Day 09: Favourite Pokémon type
    - grass types!!! they're so cute and i just love nature and plants in general.

Day 10: Least favourite Pokémon type
    - dragon types. i find them really boring to use.

In general, I've never really cared for Rock type Pokemon. That's why I've always been disappointed that fossil Pokemon have to be stuck as dual-Rock types, since a few like Carracosta and Tyrantrum could use a bit of a change.

Squirtle! Particularly in reference to Ash's Squirtle from the anime. I'm playful and funny (well I try to be funny) and talk a lot of shit, much like how Ash's Squirtle is very playful and cheeky and messes around a lot. I love the water but also like the land (lol). I've always seen turtles as being awkward animals irl too, and I'm a pretty awkward person so I think that fits in well with my personality as well.

Well, I know what I'd LIKE to be. But as for what I'd actually be, realistically speaking?

Probably a Barbaracle. It captures virtually every aspect of me: it's ugly, almost no one loves it, it has flexible arms, its parts tend to move on their own (in my case, my limbs are attracted to the figurative magnetic pull of technology), and it's a modest Pokémon (I underestimate myself, and many people underestimate Barbaracle). Also, from time to time, I talk to myself (Barbaracle is made of seven entities, so yes, it practically talks to itself). Basically, Barbaracle perfectly captures me.

Day 10 - Least Favorite Pokemon type
Fighting is my least favourite type, mostly because I'm not keen on the majority of their designs (particularly those which look like ugly 'roid-induced humans).

Day 11 - If you were a Pokémon, what would you be?
Ooo this is a tough question, I have actually never thought about this before! However, after careful consideration and momentary inspiration, I have come to the conclusion that perhaps Eevee would be a good fit.
    ROfGX12.jpg

Why? One thing people often describe me as is adaptable. Despite my discomfort with anything new, changes or social situations, I apparently adapt quickly and no-one realises my discomfort/inner struggle. After this initial problem, I often settle into new surroundings and situations quickly. Eevee's ability to evolve into different forms is another thing that I can somewhat relate to, as my lecturers, friends and family often tell me that I could succeed in a variety of different avenues, dependent on which I choose. However, I'm still uncertain and have followed a range of different paths thus far, each with moderate success but without complete personal satisfaction. This kind of makes me feel like a 'jack of all trades, master of none', a bit like Eevee and its evolutions. Eevee's variety derives from it's cited instability. Whilst I don't have unstable genetics, I certainly possess an element of instability which affects my life in various ways (such as decision making etc) Finally, I really connected with Serena's Eevee in the anime, due to its introversion and stage fright. Like Eevee, I also don't like crowds and I only feel comfortable around a select few. Furthermore, whilst I enjoy self expression, I struggle to do so in front of others. To summarise, I guess my instability and adaptability make Eevee an appropriate choice.

  • Day 12: Favourite Pokémon Attack or Move

    fH2hJJ0.png

I've always been fond of Surf! It's a powerful move and learnt by a lot of my favourite Pokémon. I also like its out-of-battle use, and find Surfing to be quite calming and enjoyable (apart from all the Tentacool...). I also think it's really cool how a lot of non-Water-type Pokémon can learn Surf, like Tauros and Rhydon. While on the one hand I find it hard to really understand how these Pokémon can Surf (refer to the above comic), it does bring some good move diversity in-game and it's sometimes funny to imagine :P

I imagine that Tauros' ability to use Surf is a reference to the myth of Europa's abduction. In this tale, the enamoured Zeus appeared to the Phoenician Europa in the form of a bull and escorted her across the sea on his back to the island of Crete. Certainly adds a whole new meaning to that comic strip eh? :p

Regarding my own favourite move, I would probably choose Moonblast. I love the idea of harnessing the moon's power and the animation is awesome.

Day 12: Favourite Pokémon Attack or Move

Definitely Psychic. It's this fantastic catch-all move in the anime where literally anything can happen. The eyes glow blue, and shit goes down. People start flying. Pokemon start flying. Objects start flying. Attacks get re-directed back at the one who unleashed them as some kind of much more powerful sentient-looking energy beam of death. It's broken as all hell, but the unpredictability of what it'll do when it's used makes for some great battles. In the original games it was one of the most useful moves as well, and with base 90 power it's not totally useless in the current generation either. It's the signature Psychic-type move...obviously. xD

This is slightly hard, but I'll have to go with Stealth Rock (when I use it). It's a move that you only need to execute once for it to work (unless you're facing against an opponent with Defog, Rapid Spin, Magic Guard, or Magic Bounce). I find it one of the trickiest moves there is, and that's why I love it. But if I were to also consider someone else using it, another favorite that comes to mind is Quiver Dance. Seriously, it's one of the best buffs, next to Tail Glow.

  • Phew, catching up, sorry for the recent inactivity!

    Day 09: Favourite Pokémon Type

I am probably going to sound very boring, but since I am a kid Dragons always have stuck with me as these fascinating Pokémon. They just seemed so special to not be really an element, but an entire fictional other creature as type to me as a kid. And I mean who doesn't like Dragons as a kid.

Day 10: Least Favourite Pokémon Type

I feel like this will be very common too. Fairies have been not my thing ever since they got announced. I never really could warm up to them, sure I used them since sometimes they turned out useful. But overall they couldn't win me over, to liking them.

Day 11: If you were a Pokémon, what would you be?

Looks like we make a threepeat with the predictibality in this. Totodile of course, I said before I identify a lot with this guy. I would totally love to be one. I enjoy swimming just as one, so it is a perfect match

Day 12: Favourite Pokémon Attack or Move

Now this is a tough one. I never really felt a liking to many moves in Pokémon. But if there ever was a move that made me gloat in happiness, and one of the only things that made me rage in Pokémon. It would be every move that triggers confusion to a Pokémon, so let's take Confuse Ray. It is so good to do it to your opponent, and so bad to experience yourself. So many fond memories, I have to go with it.

  • I'll need to catch up too!
    7. Most memorable Pokémon experience
Prolly playing Leaf Green, training for Misty, and encountering my first shiny (Spearow). Sadly, she's not with me anymore.

    8. Favourite Pokémon media
Easily the games. While they are simple, they are still an easy pick up and play type of game.

    9. Favourite type
Dark! I tend to have a soft spot for tough, mysterious, and cool Pokémon. Also, barring Darkrai, I like every Dark-type and it helps to have a favourite Pokémon who shares my favourite type.

    10. Least favourite type
    #FairiesSUCK
Not only am I not a fan of cutesy Pokémon but having them strong against Scrafty and Hydreigon just doesn't help the case. As others said, it is nice and versatile to use in competitive despite my hate to it, I'll admit that.

Second would be Bug, I'm just not into insects much.

    11. If you were a Pokémon, who would you be?
    Smeargle because I like art.

    12. Favourite Pokémon move
It depends on the Pokémon but for now it's either Knock Off or Dragon Dance. Both really fun moves to use!

  • Day 13: If you lived in the Pokémon world, what would you be? (eg Trainer, Gym Leader, Breeder, Co-ordinator, etc)

I'd probably want to be a Breeder! I think I'd really enjoy raising Pokémon up, but I'd want to engage in Sustainable Breeding™ and not just overbreed for the sake of it. I'd treat all my little Pokémon with love as they grow. Plus I like heaaaps of different kinds of Pokémon so would enjoy being able to raise up a variety of them.

I also think I'd enjoy being a Co-ordinator! From what we've seen of Co-ordinators in the anime, as well as the Pokémon Contests in the games, I'd enjoy the creativity that comes with it. I tend to prefer Pokémon based on aesthetic qualities rather than battling prowess so I think contests would suit me well.
