3rd Generation Solo Run

The goal of a solo run is to complete the entire game with just one Pokemon. You may pick any Pokemon to complete
this run with. You may use an emulator and hack it to obtain a certain Pokemon if you cannot obtain it until late
in the game (e.g. Dratini in FRLG, Spheal in RSE). Legends may not be used, however, as they are no fun.

Alright I editted the first post.

You don't have to post updates, but it's okay if you do.

HM Slaves are allowed of course. Just don't use them in battle.

Update:

Caught a bunch of Wurmples until I got one with a good nature (Timid), named it Ultima.

Evolved it.

Decided to catch a bunch of Zigzagoons cause Pick up rules.

Haha

Cruisin' along.

Got to Roxanne. Got destroyed about four times in a row. Had to grind to a very high level to beat her.

Brawly was cake.

Okay so I used A-starter to get my Aron and went through the game pretty quickly so far

I named myself Han and my boy solo... heh. He's level seventeen and we just beat Roxanne I'll attach the screenshot to prove it.

Started my adventure. Named myself Lavrov (Dunno Why)
Did the boring beginning.
Caught a lotad (lvl 4, Modest nature) named him: JIMMY B.
Defeated some trainers.
I helped Wally with catching his lame ralts.
Trained Lotad until he evolves to Lombre (lvl 14)
Went trough the Petalburg woods.
Challenged Roxanne and defeated her (it was easy because I just did absorb all the time)

OK! Time for another exciting update of han and solo! ;)

So I made it to dewford town and ran through the tunnel without flash because it's cooler than using flash.

Brawly kicked my butt twice I had to get Solo up to level 21 and had an amazing string of luck with every headbutt I used making his pokemon flinch otherwise I would have been done for.

ran through slateport and dispatched the grunts easily. I've already lost to my rival's combusken twice. I'll beat her the next time I play.

Solo thrashed may after just a little more training,

then speeding along to Mauvile we were stopped in our tracks by watson, (and still are.) But but but! Solo evolved and I'll probably beat the gym either tonight or in the morning and update again

Here's an update towards the first Gym Badge. (b'')b

- Used A-Starter on the Emerald.

Decided to replace Torchic for Elekid, mainly due to Mudkip's evolutions being part-Ground type.

- After the opening, named my character "Surge."

If it wasn't obvious yet, the name came from Vermilion City Gym Leader Lt. Surge.
​

- I picked out the Elekid. I decided to name him after my username, that is, Cid.

For some odd reason, my first try of getting his nature right was one of the natures I wanted him to have (Rash, increasing Sp. Attack and decreasing Sp. Defense, useful, and not disadvantageous at all, for Ground-type moves, which are Elekid's weaknesses, use the Defense stat instead, up until Generation III).

- Helped Wally catch his Ralts.

- I defeated a Team Aqua Grunt at Petalburg Woods, then I got to Rustboro City.

- Grinded a LOT at Route 116.

I definitely needed at least level 20 to beat the two Geodudes, for they seem to make critical hits often during my rematches with Roxanne, and Cid lacks a good movepool (no available TMs at this point) to fend off those pesky Rock/Ground-types without using a ton of items (I realized that this isn't Final Fantasy, so I don't get unlimited supply of money or items from the random encounters). I never used the save state feature within the emulator, because it seemed like cheating to do so.

- Beat Gym Leader Roxanne.

Finally. And her Nosepass was underwhelmingly easy to beat, (ThunderPunch FTW!) due to its lack of Electric-type resistance.

Really now? I'm not the same kid you beat like before. >:]

- Now off to get an HM Slave.

Maybe a Nincada would do? After that, then I'd go on to the annoying commotion caused by the Team Aqua Grunt.

Got the Devon goods back from the evil aqua grunt.
Went to president, obtained a pokénav and got a letter to deliver.
Took the boat from petalburg city to Dewford town.
Challenged the gym leader and... I GOT BEATEN 7 TIMES DUE THAT MAKUHITA!!!! Then defeated him due a critical hit (Lucky Shot).
