Crossroads;A Johto Story↠ ACT 2
One day, only weeks ago, a number of young trainers woke up in their homes in Cherrygrove City, Johto. This was the day when the resident pokémon researcher, professor Pine, had promised to give them a rare pokémon and a pokédex in return for their participation in a certain study. The study basically involved training their given pokémon and reporting any successes or oddities back to the professor. Since it's tradition that most kids take a leave from school to go on a pokémon journey once they become teenagers, this was the perfect opportunity to do so.

What the young trainers were about to learn though, was that dark powers lurk in Johto these days. A criminal organisation called Team Rocket is creeping into higher and higher ranks in the pokémon world, and they seem difficult to stop. Money is power in this world. Pine's trainers encountered Team Rocket on their travels and learned that they had been kidnapping pokémon from trainers and performed horrible experiments on them. Experiments that somehow even made a few pokémon start speaking human language. Specifically, the shiny pokémon...

However, an underground organization opposing TR has formed, and they are doing everything they can to mess up TR's business. Pine is one of the front figures in the resistance, or as the gym leader Whitney has named them: the Retribution. Other leaders of the organization includes gym leader Bugsy of Azalea Town, and his friend old master Kurt. And most certainly more well known figures around the region.

Recent history:
The Retribution had planned on taking more drastic action already before the Pine trainers reached Azalea Town. As they did arrive, Bugsy and Kurt allowed these brave souls to help drive Team Rocket out of Slowpoke Well. They didn't manage to capture the residing TR Admin, but the kidnapped pokémon were freed and the operation there ended permanently. As the trainers struggle to get back into their life of pokémon training and keep going in professor Pine's study, Kurt and Bugsy decide to rally Pine's newer trainers to the cause as well...

The world of pokémon lies ahead!

Spots in this RP are CLOSED. If you for any reason feel like you really should be allowed in, please PM adventure and we'll talk about it (:

the workings of the RP

Areas will be presented as chapters, and each chapter will give you options on what events or missions to undertake. You will not be able to do them all, so the main game lies in choosing the events that will shape your character and the adventure to your taste. There will also be setting descriptions and lists of pokémon available for capture.

Players choosing the same events should do them together. This is to make the RP enjoyable for you so that you won't have to write on your own, and also to avert story troubles. Player interaction can be done through joint posts, which can be created by sending a PM back and forth and building onto the text until a story worthy of a post has been made - OR by using piratepad! You may of course also take turns posting directly in the IC thread if you prefer that.

There are no levels. Instead, your pokémon will grow by earning new moves or quirks or abilities once in a while. The GM will hand out these things after you have finished an event. As such, you don't choose when to learn new moves yourself, the GM will let you know when it's possible.

If you want a pokémon to evolve, ask in the OOC thread. The GM will decide whether it's time or not for your pokémon to evolve. Item evolution works like Stone evolution. You can only aquire Stones/Items through events and once you own them you may perform the evolution whenever you want. Trade evolution works like normal evolutions.

When capturing pokémon, you have to wait for approval! You may battle wild pokémon or befriend them, but before the "capture" is complete, you need to end your post ambigously and wait for the GM to tell you if it is a success or failure.

You may trade pokémon with other players. You may only trade pokémon with NPC characters if it's specifically stated in the chapter post.

Just so you know... The events of Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow/Gold/Silver have not occured in this pokémon world. The story of this RP will sort of replace the game canon, just so we're all in the clear about that ;)

rules

1 - Follow all the PC and Roleplay Theatre rules. You may not double post unless you've been given permission by the GM, and your IC posts must have at least 100 words. If there are any disagreements, the GM has the final word on everything, for the sake of organisation.

2 - The rating is M. Themes like death, violence, crime and romance are okay. Observe that this is different from the previous T rating of Act 1! Please don't be overly graphic still, though. The GM kind of really doesn't enjoy that and will tell you of if you describe things in a too mature way.

3 - Please post in the OOC thread at least once a week to let the group know what's going on with your character, what your plans are, if you are currently writing a post or a JP etc. IC activity is of course even more important, but will likely depend a lot on JP frequency!

4 - As stated previously in this post, this RP has no open slots at the time of its creation. If you still feel like you should be in (for any reason), please PM the GM!

Alright, round three! Let's go.

Ani155MS.png
Christina Langley

unown-t.gif

Name: Christina Langley

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Hometown: New Bark Town

Current Pokémon: Sindy (Shiny, female Quilava), Shade (Male Haunter), Eddie (Male Joltik) Unown T

Appearance:
Spoiler:

Christina is a spunky, freckled, young red-head, somewhat taller than the average girl her age. She dresses like an explorer would. Shorts, boots, a t-shirt, with an added vest on top, in case it gets -too- cold. Around her neck is a checkered scarf, which she seems to enjoy wearing. On her hip is a big, where she carries her various little oddities. Pokéballs, potions and other goods. Her Pokédex is kept in her pocket.

Family: She lived with her father, her mother travelling overseas very often, due to her being employed on the S.S. Aqua as a chef. She also used to live with her brother, Marcus, who's two years older than Christina, and left on his Pokémon Journey when he was sixteen, three, almost four years ago. The Langley family live in a moderate, two-story house near the outskirts of the town with a broken-down playground not too far away from where they live.

History: After setting out from New Bark Town, Christina's made a wealth of new friends, both in terms of Pokémon and other trainers.
Aberdeen, Melody and, recently, Vincent, are the ones that have made most of a splash in her new life as an adventurous trainer. She couldn't have gotten as far as she has, however, without her best friend and first companion on this newly started journey; Sindy, the now Quilava.

During their trip, they picked up a few more Pokémon along the way, but more importantly, Christina's learned some valuable lessons. After losing to Falkner, getting herself back on track with the help of the monks in Sprout Tower, discovering a strange crystal shard with weird properties, and most recently, aiding in the defeat of Team Rocket, with the help of her fellow trainers and Bugsy.

Now, with her next-best friend, Melody, Christina and her team are moving through Ilex on their way to Goldenrod, and the third gym.

Goals and interests: Christina wants to, in the end, become even more famous than her brother. She only has vague ideas on how to go about this, and while a Pokémon journey could be good for gathering up some fame, it's first and foremost about bonding with your Pokémon and, more importantly, discovering the unknown. Both of the personal and the worldly kind. So she figures the Journey is a great place to start looking for answers to the questions she's asking herself, not bothered by the fact that her goal more or less just spurred from her brother teasing her relentlessly since they were little.

She greatly enjoys the ideas of adventure and exploring and, unlike most kids, had a very mixed childhood of both playing video games, and roaming the forest's edge around the town they lived in. She was fascinated with the idea of finding new areas of the woods that nobody had been to before, to map it out and set up a little camp and afterwards, fight off pretend-monsters and evil Pokémon. She enjoys music a lot and isn't afraid of showing it with a bit of dancing or humming along if she knows the song and it's played loud enough. Another thing to note is that she loves swimming, bathing and sailing, thanks to her mother's early influence on her, and she won't shy away from taking a dip in a lake, should she come across one.

Strengths: Christina is a very go-and-get-'em type person, meaning that she likes to tackle her problems head on, rather than wait around and try and think of some other solution. She can be very feisty and hard-headed, but at the same time, very cheerful and happy, and despite any first impressions that would hint towards a tomboy, she's definitely not afraid of showing her more feminine side either. Due to her 'adventuring' and running around in early childhood and even as she grew up, she's become a rather agile person as well, though not very strong, she's definitely quick on her feet.

She cares a lot for her friends and those around her, believing in fairness and fighting for those who can't fight for themselves. However, if her friends or people close to her are in danger, her attitude changes from her usually feisty mannerisms, to a more cautious one, which makes it clear that she would blame herself if something were to happen to them while in her presence.

Weaknesses: Despite her love of the waters and seas, Christina is still deathly afraid of drowning, even more so than most people. Should she be on a bridge or a boat that she starts sensing is about to sink, or a scenario like it, she'll panic and freak out. As such, she's also very afraid of underwater Pokémon and certain fish, which is also a reason as to why she would never ever touch any kind of seafood (Though she claims it's because they have the most horrid stink).

While she's very spunky and can be very 'Take charge', this also works as a double-edged sword, as she can be very stubborn, both in her actions and her point of views, though usually it's more the latter than the first. Her adventurous mind and her willingness to charge into situations along with her natural curiosity, also often lands her in trouble or bad situations, which, in some cases, could be argued that she sort of asked for. She's also not very fond of insects or 'creepy-crawlies' of any kind, though this is not to the point that her fear of underwater 'mon stretch. It's more the 'Stay at a distance and watch them burn with glee' sort of situation.

Vincent Baker
The Third Time Should be the Charm

.

Inventory:
Spoiler:
Pokemon

Spoiler:

Name: Vincent Baker
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Current team: Frogadier, Pidgeotto, Honedge, Beldum, Magikarp, Pichu

Appearance:
Spoiler:

Family: Ha! Family! That's a good joke. Vincent likes to pretend he doesn't have one, having so many falling outs with them. When he did have a home, it was all the way back in Goldenrod City, where he lived in the slums and ran with the wrong crew for far too long. His father was always gone "on business trips" but he usually came back with little to no money. His mother had to slave away in the department store making less than minimum wage, leaving Vincent with his little brother (Terrell) and sister (Kiara). This forced Vincent to grow up fast and he has risen to the occasion for the most part. However, as he grew older, he became more and more spiteful towards the whole idea of babysitting and nothing doing what he wanted to do, eventually running off on his own, leaving his family in the dust. This caused him to run with local gangs and got in all sorts of trouble before bouncing from Goldenrod completely and wandering Johto aimlessly. And now he's here. A loner.

History: Vincent's journey, more or less, started at the Pokemon Academy in Violet City. In a chance meeting with Melody Hughes and traveling with the young girl, Vincent was essentially locked into the mission to stop Team Rocket with the other Pine trainers. Vincent's travels with Melody took him to the Ruins of Alph (where he, along with Aberdeen, saved Melody), Union Cave (where he and Melody searched for their missing Pokemon and got themselves spotted by a mysterious creature), and Azalea Town (where he was violently reunited with his father). During these travels, the young man found himself opening up to others, especially to Melody due to her blunt and determined support. However, his father had stirred up a lot of bottled emotions, prompting him to sink into a self imposed exile during Ilex Forest, where he trained diligently and caught a new member to his team: A small Pichu. Why? Despite all his darkness and ego, he still likes cute things.

Goals and interests: They are two sides to Vincent's goals: What he wants you to think and what he actually wants to do. He wants people to think that he has no goals, being the living personification of simply living. No purpose, completely guided by his whims and nothing more. And truthfully, that is partially true. Vincent's immediate goals are completely guided by his impulses and desire for adventure and freedom. No parents. No responsibilities. No nothing to get in his way. However, being completely honest: Vincent wants to make something of himself. In particular, he wants to be something for his baby brother and sister to look up to. Because, really, his parents aren't exactly role models. Even if they are "trying" to be parents, Vincent believes they need someone otherworldly to really motivate them to work hard. This makes his whole journey motivated by selfless desires. But he would never admit that outright.

This being said, Vincent isn't much of one either. As alluded to it earlier, Vincent is an admirer of adventure. However, Vincent's version of adventure often involves pushing the limits, particularly of the law as he does anything for a good thrill. Messing with local law enforcement, pulling pranks, skateboarding in illegal places and street art are just a few examples of what Vincent does to get the blood flowing. When he isn't breaking the law for kicks, Vincent enjoys being in nature, finding a recent love in the environment, loving the idea of the sky, mountains and the stars. Occasional naps are enjoyable, as is doodling in his little art book that he carries around in his bag of stuff. In his quietest moments, Vincent loves to create art and stories, something he always did for his siblings before he put them to bed. It's an old habit.

Rival: Does law enforcement count as a rival? Because hohoho…Vincent has a number of police officers who do not like him.

Truthfully, Vincent has a lot of enemies. His biggest enemy would be, at least at this point, his father. After bumping into him recently, Vincent's loathing for his father has been reignited to a strange mix of a lack of child rearing on his head, a lack of respect for authority in general and a staunch fear that he will become just like him.

Strengths: Vincent's greatest strength is his resourcefulness. Having been forced to grow up a bit earlier than everyone else around his age, he has become independent and self-sufficient. This has made him very adaptable, and he quickly adjusts to new situations. He can think on his feet quite well, having years of experience having to do to outrun any number of situations. His constant successes have given him an air of confidence, and he is more than willing to leap into situations firmly believing he will walk away gaining any sort of victory that he was aiming for. Vincent is very dedicated to whatever whims or goals he develops, and will fight the good fight to accomplish whatever he wants. He can think outside the box and is literally willing to do whatever he needs to do to seize his dreams. He's an opportunist, valiantly fighting for his beliefs…and that may be the best way to describe him.

Weaknesses: Vincent isn't very likable. He's self-reliance comes from his lack of trust in people and aside from a select few, he vehemently refuses to open up to anyone, preferring to keep them at a distance with insults and taunts. His distrust of people tends to be quite crippling, and he is very slow to make friends. In fact, his morality towards people is so bad that he has tendency to betray people flat out. His self-confidence has also been inflated by his frequent successes to the point of blind arrogance. He refuses to admit his faults, ever. In fact, his arrogance blinds him to any failures, being senselessly reckless. He is more likely to dive head first into a problem rather than think it out, being the definition of careless. Crusading for his dreams has made him stubborn and willing to fight dirty in order to snatch the successes he is so enamored with. He's cold steel, never willing to break…and that may be the best way to describe him.

Morgan Wilson
age 16 | female
Hometown: Originally from Lilycove City from Hoenn, moved to Violet City

Appearance: Standing on about 155cm, Morgan is a young girl of below average height for her age. She has a pretty slim and small-structured body, most likely inherited from genes. With long pink hair that extends to her lower back, she wears a beige dress that's overalled with green and white clothing. Alongside that are red shoes that has a buckle to hold it in place. Her skin is not too pale, yet not too tanned, with emerald-green eyes genetically inherited from her mother.

Family: Morgan's the only child to her mother and father, who both lived as more wealthy folk from the public. Her mother works full time as an accountant, and her father works full time as a businessman. While her mother was always busy, her father, she had a lesser relationship with. Morgan's dad was always about one thing, and that was success and victory for the Wilson family. Because of his pride and desire for high expectations, Morgan always felt that her dad had no time for her, or rather, she felt that he didn't want her. So, she always had an uneasy relationship with her family in general, but, that was normal to deal with, at least to her.

Goals and Interests: Despite her nature, Morgan likes to take it easy often, and sit out somewhere to drink tea, or read a book outside. She always preferred staying outdoors rather than indoors, because she always had a keen interest in nature, with plant life, the atmosphere, the stars at night, the radiant sun, and most importantly, with Pokemon. She loved Pokemon from a young age, even when she used to live upon Hoenn, she always found herself feeding the wild Taillow and reading books about the wonders of Caterpie evolution. Ever since she was 10, she always dreamed of having her own pokemon, and travelling to her heart's desire. As for pokemon battling, she always wanted to try it out; how she will succeed as a true pokemon trainer, and travelling the lands, looking for battles to increase her experience. But her ultimate goal is to meet as many pokemon as possible, in an attempt to understand more about the world.

Strengths: She's knowledgeable, and strong. Despite what she seems to be like on the surface, Morgan has a sense of tactful-ness about her. No matter what she says, she takes good care for her friends, and anything else that she deems important, and no matter what, she'll never abandon anyone in need. She's more of a realist than anything, and thus, she's more open minded towards beliefs, attitudes, and other rationale from people.

Weaknesses: She is blunt, lazy, and pretty cynical. Being pretty blunt with people, which can rub them the wrong way. At first glance she's not exactly easy going with people, since she can be awfully judgmental of them, even from a first glance. Due from her relaxed nature, she can be awfully lazy at times, leaving off important tasks until the very last minute, or better yet for her, leave someone else to do it. Sometimes she shows an odd sadistic side to her, where she likes to tease others, on one hand, signalling that she likes them, but on another, can be quite annoying to others.

History: Following her adventures, she met a colorful amount of people. The first was a young man named Blaine, who she traveled with through the Union Cave. There, they both saw a gigantic and strange large flying bird-like Pokémon, seemingly on route to a den. It was also there she captured a Dratini, and kept it as a new partner Pokémon alongside her others.

Soon she arrived in Azalea Town, meeting two other trainers, Aberdeen and Christina. Aberdeen, to much of Morgan's dismay, went together to the Azalea gym, meeting the Gym Leader, Bugsy. Morgan battled against Bugsy in the gym, where it was a fierce contest. Morgan's Combusken managed to defeat Bugsy's Scyther, earning her a Hive Badge. But despite her win, her troubles were far from other.

Bugsy explained that there was going to be an operation near the local Slowpoke Well, where other trainers were going to meet up. She learned about team Rocket, a gang of misdeeds who were up to no good in the region. Morgan met with some other trainers like Melody, who she didn't really take a shine to. Morgan and Aberdeen both teemed up to infiltrate Team Rocket's base, who they've met with one of the admins there. She had powerful Pokémon, even with Morgan and Aberdeen teaming up.

Fortunately, Morgan's Mareep evolved into a Flaaffy, and manages to hold her own, until it was time to escape. Sadly, they did not go unscathed, as Morgan was powerless to watch her friend's Pokémon, in the mercy of the foe's Pokémon.

After the night, Morgan only had a nightmares of the events that happened. That feeling of powerlessness, the unprecedented anger she felt facing the enemy... it was horrid. It was then she decided, she needed to get stronger and more responsible. She dedicated herself into getting stronger, to defeat Team Rocket the next time they would encounter them, for her, and her friend. Through the Ilex forest, she even caught a new Audino, who's power would soon help her on her new quest... to defeat the one who caused her friend pain. No matter the cost.

<3 welcome back guys.

You don't have to include a "rival" section now. You should feature both old and recent history in the "history" section instead.

Also, I guess it's okay if you have caught one pokemon on your way through Ilex, but Chris, if you want that Pichu, you've gotta let Eevee go, yep d: As for what mons you could have acquired in Ilex, refer to the Retribution chapter or use your imagination c:

And don't forget "hometown"!

"If my Buizel gets thirsty, does that mean he's out of bullets for Water Gun?"

Melody Hughes // 15 Years Old // Female // Cherrygrove City, Johto

90523154-c247-4c22-ba55-6f773e44c39e_zps30f12d10.jpg

Appearance

Melody stands at a height of 4'10" with a slender body build. Her features make her look younger than she actually is, causing others to mistake her age constantly (much to her annoyance). She sports a pair of olive-green eyes and a fair skin complexion as well. Her hair is that of a chocolate brown and by default is quite long. It easily reaches down past her waist in terms of length, and saying that it looks quite untamed would be an understatement. To try and manage its length a bit better, Melody keeps her hair into two rather long pigtails. Due of her tomboyish nature, she tends to avoid wearing more girlish colors such as pinks and purples and wears shorts as opposed to skirts and dresses. When traveling, she keeps all her items in a dark green backpack which she wears off her left shoulder.

Strengths And Weaknesses

A generally positive thinker with energy to spare. Melody is one to approach every challenge with a smile and a will to never give up, no matter how difficult it may seem. Melody is generally a very friendly girl, always willing to greet everyone with a smile and lend an ear to anyone who may need it. A tomboy by nature, Melody always spent a good deal of time outside playing games like baseball instead of playing with dolls and the like. Because of this, she prides herself on being tough and a bit stronger than most girls her age.

However because of her hyper active tendencies, Melody often has a hard time managing to keep quiet and still at points. This has been a problem for her as long as she can remember, often getting her into trouble when she was in school for not being able to keep still during class. She also has a habit to start rambling away while talking, letting her imagination get the best of her as she lets the endless possibilities of something run through her mind. Always one to be a bit on the clumsy side, sneaking about is not her strong suit by any means. Melody is absolutely terrified of heights.

Family

Melody lives with her mother and older sister. Her mother makes a living working as a nurse within Cherrygrove's Pokécenter. Her older twin sister, Emily, decided not to embrace the life of a Pokémon trainer. Rather, she decided to finish schooling and then study to become a teacher herself. Melody's father, Cliff, used to live with the family as well. However, since her father is a Pokémon trainer himself. The man had began his career as a trainer at the age of 15 years old, much like Melody is now. However, he rarely stops by home, which leaves a noticeable void in the family's lives. The family makes its home in a quaint, little house close by the Pokémon Center where Melody's mother works.

Rival

Melody considers her father to be her rival. Always hearing stories from both her mother and her sister about his talents and adventures, Melody has found herself realizing that her pining for a Pokémon journey of her own stems from those stories she heard growing up as a child. She has accompanied her family to see some of his battles. He has even ventured to Indigo Plateau on numerous occasions to take on the Elite 4 challenge. While Cliff has never actually managed to battle and win against the Champion, he has won various awards and tournaments within the Johto region. This has made him fairly well-known in the region. Melody has always felt a slight anger at her father's way of living. While she has no disrespect for the man's life as a trainer, she feels that Cliff has essentially abandoned his family, letting his fame and reputation go to his head.

Goals And Interests

Melody has always dreamed about embarking on a Pokémon journey of her own. Facing trainers in epic battles, meeting and forming an unstoppable team of Pokémon, traveling across Johto and seeing all the region has to offer... The girl wants to experience it all. As she grew up, Melody began to find another desire building into her dreams of a career as a trainer: finding and confronting her father. The girl feels that she would only be a successful trainer if she is able to meet her father and defeat him properly in a Pokémon battle. Because of this, she has made it her goal to surpass him in skill and while keeping her family close, instead of abandoning them as he did.

History

Melody began her journey with several of the other "Pine Trainers" in Cherrygrove City. The girl has had quite the whirlwind adventure up to this point, which involved getting lost on the first route, defeating both Bugsy and Falkner in gym battles, infiltrating a Team Rocket base located within Azalea Town and battling against the criminals, rescuing stolen Pokémon, andbeing abducted by wild Pokémon (while being rescued shortly afterwards) just to name a few happenings. All the while, Melody has made several friends throughout her journey in the form of trainers and Pokémon alike.

In terms of trainers, Melody has developed quite the bond with Christina Langley and Vincent Baker. Both of the two teens come from completely different backgrounds and have extremely different personalities, as well as both of them being a couple of years older than Melody. However, the younger girl is proud to be able to call them her best friends, and would most likely do anything she could to help them should they require her assistance. Throughout Melody's travels, she has teamed up with both Christina and Vincent extensively. In fact, most of her journey from Violet City to Azalea Town was spent in the young man's company, while a majority of Melody's more intense battles have featured Christina by her side, including the battle against Bugsy at the Azalea Town Gym. She has also had some passing encounters with Aberdeen Montany and Morgan Wilson. Melody would likely be able to call Aberdeen a good acquaintance, but from their brief meeting in Azalea Town, it is unlikely that Morgan and Melody would get along too well.

Of course, what would any Pokémon journey be if one did not befriend several Pokémon along the way? Melody has made several bonds with the creatures, and while they may not be as high in number as one might think a trainer to have, Melody finds more value in quality as opposed to quantity. Of course, her journey began with the proud and boastful Blossom by her side. The little Chikorita had proved to be a valuable ally in several situations for Melody, and seems to be more than willing to do whatever it takes to keep the girl safe. She has long since evolved into a Bayleef, but the feeling of devotion and friendship the two feel to each other have only grown stronger with time. From there, Melody has made several more friends with her Pokémon team, including the serious and quiet Buizel, Napoleon, the somewhat smug and perverted Sandile, Franky, and the brave and always battle-ready Swellow, Hawk.

While her adventures seemed to take quite the turn after arriving in Azalea Town, everything finally calmed down enough for Melody to resume her journey. This time traveling with Christina, the duo were last seen making their way towards Goldenrod City through the deep, maze-like forest of Ilex. It was in this forest, that Melody managed to capture the newest addition to her team, a female Ralts which she dubbed "Venus". While Melody does enjoy getting to travel with Christina, she has other things on her mind, most of which include reaching Goldenrod by the weekend, in order to have a long awaited reunion with someone from her past...

Name: Aberdeen Montany
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Hometown: Cherrygrove Town

Appearance: A sort of short dude, but will probably grow up a bit as he gets older. Seems to be the youngest of the Pine trainers, after all. His build is very thin, without overly much in the way of muscle. His eyes are intensively blue, but burn with a passion for adventure. He doesn't bother styling his brown hair, because even if it at least is not curly, it definitely lives its own life. For clothing, Aberdeen recently decided to wear black jeans, a black t-shirt and a blue hooded jacket, along with red sneakers and a red backpack. Keeping it simple.

Family: Aberdeen used to live in Cherrygrove City with his mother and father. Little more than two years ago, his older sister Anabel died in an accident involving pokémon, and that event has shaped Deen a lot. Aberdeen's father is a very artsy and cheerful man who works in Cherrygrove's finest flower shop, while his mother is a very concerned and somewhat strict woman who works as a nurse at the local Pokémon Center. They each had one pokémon pet who became playmates of Aberdeen and Anabel as the children grew up: Sunflora and Wigglytuff.

History: At the start of Deen's journey, he captured his sharp witted Pidgey, Pangea. He teamed up with another trainer named Nathan in an adventure that ended in him capturing Winter, his nervous Whismur. After that, he literally fell into Christina Langley, another one of Pine's trainers.

Spoiler:

Together, Deen, Tina and Nathan helped some farmers out and recieved a rare reward...

Spoiler:

In Violet City, Deen attented a course at the Pokémon Trainer Academy and bought an ultra foldable tent. He also battled the gym leader Falkner and managed to win and gain the badge, even if it wasn't easy and he had to learn a lot very quickly.

Spoiler:

In the Ruins of Alph, Deen found a very angry Honedge, whom he named Hero. He also met with his childhood acquaintance, Melody Hughes, and her buddy Vincent. They went on an adventure in the ruins together, which ended in Winter saving the day Deen and Vincent rescuing a Melody from a wild pack of Smeargle.

Spoiler:

Continuing south, Aberdeen stumbled into trainer Sarah briefly, before taking shelter from the rain in his ultrafoldable tent during a reunion with Christina. Winter and Christina's Quilava were kidnapped during the night. While looking for them, Deen captured a sassy Flaaffy and was given a Unown U by Tina. While they were traveling through Union Cave, he captured two Psyduck. However, during a fateful accident, he also got to witness the power of Unown U, even if he didn't realize it at the time. He became wary of this pokémon after that, as it had seemingly messed around with life and death, topics Deen did not want to touch upon.

Spoiler:

Luckily, they could continue and found themselves on route to Azalea, battling some more.

Spoiler:

In Azalea Town, Deen met up with Morgan Wilson. He cheered her on as she battled and defeated gym leader Bugsy.

Spoiler:

They also got a mission from Bugsy to help him out against Team Rocket, together with the other Pine trainers who happened to be in Azalea at the time. Just before the mission began, Deen traded one of his Psyducks with trainer Blaine, in return for a dreamy Dratini. They infiltrated Slowpoke well and Morgan and Aberdeen faced off against Team Rocket member Jayle... Who ended things for Pangea in a blazing inferno. Deen had trouble recovering from the horrible event, despite encouragement and kindness from both Morgan and Christina. The day after, he managed to beat Bugsy at the gym, but then went into the Ilex Forest carrying only his Quilladin and Whismur. There, he encountered something that made him rethink everything...

Goals and interests: Aberdeen has lived a fairly normal and easy life and has a couple of great friends but also nowadays people who find him annoying at times. This is because he changed when his sister died and became more extrovert and reckless. His main goal with this journey and why he was so willing to accept a pokémon from Pine and do the study, is that he wants to take chances, take risks and experience things. He wants to do the things others wouldn't, he wants to be that crazy, daring person. Because his sister, despite being a tough girl in her own right, never really took any risks and preferred to be smart and play things safe... and that didn't do her any good in the end. Aberdeen refuses to end his life like that too. He will take on the gym challenge because it seems hard, but he isn't completely focused on challenging every trainer he sees or capturing every pokémon he encounters. Becoming the greatest pokémon trainer is the goal of so many kids nowadays; he'd rather become the greatest human being.

Strengths: Ab can surprise others by thinking out of the box or doing seemingly crazy spur-of-the-moment things. When offended or outsmarted, he seems to lack a proper sense of pride since he'd admit that he was wrong rather easily. Not easily confused; sees what's important, at least to him right there and then. As such, he is quick thinking in the heat of things but not always the wisest when it comes to big, important decisions. In general, he comes across as outgoing and cheerful. He is also pretty unselfish most of the time, unless he is feeling really impatient.

Weaknesses: Sort of impatient and reckless, stemming from his wish to accomplish something and take risks in life. Doesn't like contemplating things, so can make decisions a bit too quickly sometimes. Contemplation makes people depressed or grumpy, according to him, so if he notices that someone else is like that, he'll feel uneasy. It is especially bad if he himself gets angsty and sad, because then he starts hating himself until somebody kindly snaps him out of it. He is mostly only afraid of ghosts and anything that's got to do with death (because of his sister being dead and possibly his Pidgey too) but that can make him pretty faint-hearted. Deen is also rather physically weak! Wouldn't last long in a fist battle with Caelan...

Name: Caelan Filmore
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Hometown: Cianwood City

Appearance: Standing in at six-foot-four, Caelan is a rather tall young man. He's built up quite a bit of muscle on himself from years of swimming and sailing out in the seas of Route 41. You'd think that his skin would be tanned to hell from all the time he's spent in the sun, but his complexion is only slightly browned, which surprisingly works incredibly well with his bright green eyes. Like the stereotypical "surfer dude" he keeps his light brown hair at a rather shaggy length, letting it reach his eyes and the back of his neck. As far as outfits go, he once again fits the stereotype to a tee. He can most often be seen wearing short sleeve button downed shirts along with a pair of board shorts, reaching a couple inches above his knees.

Family/History: Born to a loving family in Cianwood City, the Filmore family's bonds were almost as warm as the island settlement's climate. Caelan's father works as a fisherman, mostly based within the surrounding seas, but his occupation often forced him to be away from his family for long periods of time. Growing up, his mother was primarily a stay at home mom, taking care of him, but to support the growing number of children within the household, she eventually began working part time at the local Poké-Center. As the oldest of seven children, he's always been a hero to his siblings, and played a big role in helping his mother keep down the house whenever his father was away on fishing trips. As soon as he learned how, he started to fish on his own time to earn a little side income for the family.

Goals and Interests: As much as Caelan looks forward to going on such a grand scale adventure, as much as he looks forward to befriending various pokémon and trainers, and as much as he looks forward to experiencing all there is to in Johto, at the end of the day his ultimate goal is to return to Cianwood with as much money as possible. This might sound a bit strange to someone who knows him, but after hearing his motives for such a goal, it makes perfect sense in relation to who he is as a person. He wants to bring home enough cash to support his entire family of ten, so that the burden upon his parents is relieved at least some. He knows how hard both of his parents work to provide for he and his siblings, so he wants to give back to them. He figures that becoming the Johto region champion, or a high ranking gym leader must come with a a pretty hefty paycheck, so he's working hard to become a better trainer.

As for his favorite pastimes, he enjoys singing and music in general. He knows how to play a number of instruments and carries around a ukelele in his bag. In Cianwood, when he wasn't at home taking care of his siblings, he was out in the sea, surfing, swimming, or fishing.

Strengths: If Caelan's life were some sort of RPG, his charisma stat would be completely maxed out. Always able to strike up a conversation with even the most awkward of people, he's been a social butterfly since the day of his birth. And it's not as if he approaches interactions with any ulterior motives, he's a rather kindhearted and compassionate individual, invariably considerate of others. He's cool and collected, seemingly always calm and in control, and when conflicts arise he almost always plays the role of peacemaker. He just has a calming presence about him that makes those around feel at ease. His laidback and relaxed nature, leads him to be the type of person many confide with, and he often finds himself as the sole audience of others vocalizing their problems. His size and strength are also an asset to him, as travelling around the region should be of no problem for him.

Weaknesses:
Not the brightest tool in the box, Caelan isn't a very intelligent young man. Considering that he spent the time that he should have been studying, out in the ocean, surfing or fishing, it should be of no surprise that he's quite lacking in an academic standpoint. As a result of him believing that all people are inherently good, he's trusting to a fault, giving even the most suspicious of figures the benefit of the doubt. If you were to run some sort of scamming scheme, he'd be quite the easy target. Also, because of his distaste of confrontation, he can be quite fickle and a bit of a pushover. There are certain topics that he is passionate about, but if for the most part he's willing to adapt and go along with the flow of things.

Vincent, Christina, Morgan and Melody are all accepted, although it would be nice if Dragon added in a Hometown somewhere in the SU.

I'll look more closely at Caelan later!

ohhh shit i totally forgot about that lmao. i wasn't around Titans long enough to remember. i shall change it
Caelan is accepted!

Interestingly, we've now got 3 characters out of 7 who's mother works in a pokémon center lol...

EDIT:
So! Do you want any pokémon from previous routes in Crossroads?

Name: Beatrice "Bee" Toledo
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Hometown: Originally Fallarbor Town, Hoenn. But now basically New Bark Town, Johto.

Appearance: Beatrice, or Bee as her father always called her, doesn't really stick out in a crowd. Her hair is black and reaches down just below her ears in a not too exciting cut. Sometimes, she puts up what she can of it in a tiny ponytail, but her bangs hang down in front of her ears still. Her skin is a darker in tone than most native Johtonians, without a freckle to be seen, and the eyes are a mellow dark brown. Basically, colorful wouldn't be a way to describe her natural looks, and she never had much money to buy fancy clothes - but what little pocket money she had, she invested in colored mascaras. As such, her eyelashes always have a pastel color of some kind, making her eyes really pop despite their dark irises.

Johto's climate isn't exactly cold, but Bee has a tendency to catch colds rather easily. At least that's what her mother claims. Growing up in the dusty Fallarbor Town might not have been the best thing for a child's healthy development. As such, she wants to be careful still, and almost always wears a long scarf and her brown coat. Underneath it, she usually wears simple dresses or tunics along with long stockings. She chose a pair of slightly worn beige boots for her journey. For her belongings and equipment, she carries a blue travelbag, that too not the fanciest thing around. Lastly, she always wears glasses. If she didn't she'd only be able to see a few meters in front of her, and not very clearly.

Family: Daughter of a notorious environmental activist based in Hoenn, who sent his wife and child to another region to keep them at a safe distance when his organization's activities started intensifying. Beatrice's mother is a mild mannered lady who relies on the money her husband sends her and never asks from where it comes. Trice's childhood was never one of luxury, but they kept things together and made sure to teach the child what was important in life. Love. Freedom. Knowledge. Pokémon. Now, Beatrice's mother lives in a quiet apartment in the tiny New Bark town, where the father assumed that they would go unnoticed...

History: ... Unfortunately for him, an energetic independent professor lived in that very town, and invited young people to go out on a mission for her. Mrs Toledo tried to resist her, so at last, Beatrice ran away in the night and left a novel length forgive-me note on the kitchen table. She realized soon that she was not at all one of the first trainers to respond to Pine's call for aid. However, Pine still had some pokémon to give her, and she picked Tepig honestly mostly because the bulky fire type reminded her of her home area around Mt Pyre in Hoenn.

Her journey so far hasn't been extremely eventful, but also not completely dull. She battled Falkner in Violet but lost hard with her Tepig and Ledyba, and decided to not go for a rematch. In Ruins of Alph, she heard about events during a storm during which some young trainers had been particularly present. Further south, she camped out one evening together with another trainer and was woken up in the middle of the night when a thief tried to sneak up and steal her pokéballs. Her Ledyba evolved into Ledian and chased the thief away, strangely easily. In Azalea, she met with Bugsy who told her about the recent mission with the other Pine trainers. Bee was sad that she had missed the commotion, even though she knew she probably wouldn't have stood a chance against properly focused Team Rocket members. Bugsy also commended her Ledian for being a top notch bug pokémon!

She tried to hurry through Ilex Forest to finally catch up to the other Pine trainers, but naturally got lost since she tried to take shortcuts through the forest. With the help of the odd pokémon team she had gathered (a fearless Sigilyph from the ruins and a shy Onix from Union Cave), she managed to get to the fields south of Goldenrod quickly enough. Tepig even evolved into a Pignite in the process, since they ran into a couple of angry monkey pokémon who seemed to only want to create a mess... Now Beatrice hopes to finally find the other Pine trainers and motivate them to get back on track and study their shiny pokémon, rather than take up the fight against Team Rocket again; Pine was never really happy that Bugsy and Kurt had let them do that, even if she understood why they needed the imminent help.

Goals and interests:
Professor's Protegé
Beatrice has looked up to Pine ever since she moved to Johto. Getting to help her out was a dream come through. She would like to be a pokémon researcher herself one day, and thus really diligently tries to follow Pine's directives now. She is probably the only Pine trainer who has called the professor up daily to give status reports about her pokémon - as well as on what the other Pine trainers seem to be up to, judging from the trail of people and events they left behind.

Universal Understanding
To read about and research pokémon is one thing. To communicate with and understand them is another! Bee has really bonded well with her Ledian "Baby" but struggles to understand her other pokémon properly. Just as humans are fascinating to try and understand - the reasons behind them saying and doing what they do - pokémon are possibly even more interesting. There are primal parts of their behavior, but there are also highly sophisticated aspects. Bee always tries to develop an understanding of every pokémon and person she meets, even if it's a real challenge. She wished sometimes that she could speak pokémon language, or that they could speak a human one... (8

Fangirl Fantasies
Pine is amazing in every way. So are the gym leaders. Not to mention the Elite 4. Oh god. As a child, the gym leaders were her HEROES. She had a HUGE crush on champion Steven (in Hoenn, of course). She knew about the gym leaders in other regions as well, and some of her favorites were in Johto. When she finally got to face the absolutely gorgeous Falkner in a battle, she was so nervous that she couldn't form proper strategies, and she ended up losing. The wise and brave Bugsy treating her like a respected sister-in-arms when they discussed the TR laboratory indicent, it had her almost jumping out of her seat constantly. She just can't WAIT to see Whitney in person. Whitney, the TV and radio star. Oh my GOOOOD.

Strengths:
Patient
Bee lets things and people take their time. If somebody doesn't understand something right away, she is surely the one to jump at the chance to explain it further or clear up the details. She can deal well with sitting calmly and waiting for something; she had to do that a lot when she was younger and waited for her father to come home since she didn't have many friends to play with in Fallarbor Town.

Memory
Being a bit of a bookworm and pokémon nerd, Bee can remember tons of facts about pokémon and details about other people. She also isn't too shy to blurt them out when she can, which might partly be why she was bullied as a kid. Besides the glasses and her being the daughter of a well known but very poor environmental activist... But I digress.

Weaknesses:
Clumsy
Not just "oh no my food slipped", but Beatrice is clumsy in many regards. Physically, she was always a bit frail. Her coordination skills and balance were never well trained, and if anybody ever thought Deen was weak, they won't even be able to register Bee's attempt at showing off her muscles. If she ever did. She doesn't. Show them off. Because she basically has none. She feels safe having a Fire/Fighting type with her, and a speedy bug and a huge rock snake. She can also be a bit clumsy socially, which is, again, why she hasn't had the most friends as a kid. Or now, for that matter; if there was an elephant in the room, she might be the one to point it out.

Allergic to Grass types
She doesn't do hugely well outdoors, and carries an inhalator with her for when pollen gets bad or when she has to go into a forest. See Ilex. But she also seems to do pretty badly with grass type pokémon! In fact, she captured a Hoppip but eventually left it in Kurt's care since the poor thing made her sneeze when it came too close and excitedly flapped its cute leaves. Bee doesn't like to talk about this, as it makes her sad that she is intolerant to some pokémon. She could have dealt with it well if it was just grass and pollen, but actual living beings that she strives to learn more about? Sad.

Pokémon:
499.png

Abraxas (Pignite) male
Bee raises the pokémon she got from professor Pine dutifully. He is a bit lazy, though, and mostly just likes having fun.

166.png

Baby (Ledian) female
Perhaps the one pokémon Bee really connected with; she found an injured Ledyba on the first route of her journey and decided to care for it. Baby is loyal and very clever.

561.png

Cleopatra (Sigilyph) female
Hard to communicate with. Actually, Bee isn't sure that it really communicates at all. It obeys her commands in battle though. That's... Something.

095.png

Esteban (Onix) male
The biggest softie you'd ever meet.

Alright, I'll give it to you tomorrow c: not on a pc rn.

Deen probably won't do any of the events, possssibly he'll get an Eevee. And then probably a Flareon evo eventually c:

I'd like to do event #1 with Beatrice! Who else would like to do it? Would be nice to JP with someone, but if plenty of players want to do #1, we could split it up into two sessions.

I've been thinking about attempting to join for a couple of days now...

1. Is this strictly to people who have been in it before?
2. Is it too late to join since the IC is already posted?

I'm not 100% sure yet, but I think i'd like Caelan to do that event. It'd be nice to have the two newest chars interact :3
