I have found the solution to his annoying calls.
Whenever i rebattled him he would always call me loads of times.

Then he called me saying that he wanst to battle again. HE HAS NEVER EVER CALLED SINCE THEN! Yayz..

I wish the game designers had given the Joey AI a more varied dialogue selection as that would have lessened my irritation with him. I don't mind constant phone calls, but I mind that he only ever says ONE thing every single call.

Yep pretty much on the same boat, sometimes I really don't care and other times I really want to just annihilate him and his rattata. Bring him back as a gym leader in Black and White!
