  • I'll do a dark type challenge, since I don't want to do the start and I'm at goldenrod now. I can pick up my Eevee, and I'll see when it evolves.

  • My first real update.

I got my Eevee from Bill.
Trained it to level 30 so it learned bite and I could beat the 4th gym.

It was level 27 when I got to Ecruteak, and I went to Saffron to train.
    I got a mint berry.
It was level 30 before I arrived in Saffron, and I went back t Ecrutheak.
I beat the gym easily, but I needed the mint berry, because Gengar used hypnosis.
I went to Saffron, through the lighthouse.
Surfed over the sea to Cianwood and beat Eusine.
I want to evolve Eevee after it learns take down. It didn't even want to evolve yet.

    The gym battle against Chuck:
First off, Primeape. I used attract, and he could attack once. He did karate chop and did 40 damage.(I have 100 btw)
I killed him with 3 quick attacks.
    Next off, his last, Poliwrath.
I used attract again, but he could pull off a hypnosis.
I switched to Oddish, a HM slave to use a free awakening. He missed Dynamicpnch and I use awakening on Eevee.
    oddish got killed by surf.
Sending Eevee back in, and I need to do attract again.
After 3 quick attacks Poliwrath finally attacked for once, and ued hypnosis again. I don't have an other awakening, so i'll hope he keeps missing or being infituated.
I'll wait till Eevee wakes up and kill with quick attack.
I slept for 4 turns and got hit twice by surf. But I killed him by waking up.

    Team:
Eevee level 39. (I know it's overleveled, but it is my only pokemon and I'll need it in the fighting gym.)
    Quick attack
    Bite
    Sand-attack
Attract (it saved me several times)

I'm going to Mahogany now, clear thngs up there, catch a Sneasel and go back for the gym in Saffron city.

  • Another update.

I went to mahogany town, beat team rocket and the gym leader.

The gym wasn't really hard. After a few quick attacks and take down's everything was settled.

I wanted to go to the ice path to catch a sneasel which could help me in the 6th gym, but I found out I couldn't continue till I beat the gym.
Eevee still didn't evolve yet. I guess it will soon.

    My gym battle with Jasmine:
I decided to kill the Magnemites with bite, so I couldn't get myself damaged while I was going to do Steelix with Take Down.
It took 4 bites to kill the first magnemite, and I got hurt by T-bolt and I got paralysed. After a parlyz heal, I beat the other magnemite.
I kept using sand attack on steelix so he wouldn't hurt me. It took me some time to get him nearly down, ad then she used hyper potion!:\
I started using bite, because Eevee got hurt too much and his Sp def is way lower than his def.
    Eventually I defeated him.

    Team:
    Eevee
    Quick attack
    Bite
    Sand-Attack
    Take Down

I'm hunting for a Sneasel now.

  • Hmm. I'll go for this one, as well as the R/B challenge of yours since I have absolutely no life at all.
As much as I'm loving raising water type Pokemon in Blue (My first time being a monotype trainer!) I think I'll try Fire this time.
And this time around, I actually have a copy of Crystal.
Yay! No more emulators, causing my laptop to burn holes through my legs.

Edit: On second thought, since there are no Vulpix in Crystal version, I'm restarting and changing my monotype to water.

I actually was already doing a Bug Monotype Challenge (because I never use bugs) when I came across this thread, so I hope nobody minds if I join in?

EDIT: This is on Gold by the way.

    Butterfree L. 28, ---
    Gust
    Confusion
    Sleep Powder
    Harden

    Parasect L. 25, Miracle Seed
    Cut
    Leech Seed
    Poison Powder
    Spore

    Heracross L. 24, ---
    Horn Attack
    Fury Attack
    Leer
    Endure

I just beat Morty's gym with Butterfree's Confusion, and I'm about to head over to Olivine. I'm trying to get Scyther and Spinarak to add to my team (but darn it, it's the morning). I don't think I'll get a Venonat, since Venomoth seems like the same thing as Butterfree basically. I'm debating whether I should get a Scyther or not, since I don't want to overload myself with too many pokemon this early.

Advice/Suggestions/Criticism would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
