The pass looks... Too square, the mountains do not look natural enough. Make them less square, and do not make the layer above copy the layer below like that (but smaller), it looks... Unnatural.

your talking about the second one? well should i leave some gap while making layers?

Your mountains were your biggest problem with Dark Pass, not the lack of trees. Square mountains just don't look good as a finished product, so I'd be taking Banjora's advice and making it more 'natural looking'.

While the next town looks interesting from the photos you have posted, it also seems to suffer from square-mountain-itis :/

What everyonr means by square mountains is that they are not natural-looking.

making them too straight doesnt help, make the edges unpredictably natural!

How is that unnatural? Humans built the PC, they may have placed it there for a reason. It isn't unnatural if it was manmade.

Treeplacement may need to be improved, but the mountains look OK.

that isnt unnatural, its there for a reason, as banjora said. ingame, the PC hides the entrance quite beautifully, giving the hero some sought of a challenge about finding how to go on!
