Yup, no clue what IV/EV/VI/VE? means. I have never faught competively and I don't think I can deal with strategies and counter-strategies. I just play for fun, but I do like to make sure my pokemon are good enough to own the gym leaders :) I go with cute but powning pokemons

Compe-...competitive...gaming? No, that's silly. The only time people should be competitive over a game is if that game is Starcraft and that person is Korean. I do have a team, not the best team, but a team none the less, but I use them when playing a friend. Nothing serious.

I know some competitive movesets/match-ups/strategies, but I hardly ever battle competitively. I just think that certain moves (such as Trick Room) are so cheap and overly used. It's getting frustrating to battle on PBR, where I get random match-ups, since everyone uses those kinds of moves.

I enjoy competitive battles; it makes the gaming possibilities larger. Although I usually do not bother with IVs because it takes to long and I have no patience. :>

Purely casual, non-competitive. I don't have wifi, and the adapters you can buy apparently don't work very often on my OS. I don't have any friends I can compete with in real life except just one. I also play so little I may never catch up to his levelled pokemon.

Nahhh. The idea of IV/EV training is exactly why I quit World of Warcraft - the idea of having to essentially work for hundreds of hours to get a competitive team that is basically only going to end up being exactly the same as other competitive teams is not why I play Pokemon. I don't have the time or will to put in the hours necessary, and I much prefer the idea of using a wide variety of Pokemon because I like them, rather than using only a select few because they are the "best."

I do understand IVs and EVs, and I'm not going to condemn those who do put in the hours, but the closest I get to competitive Pokemon battling is occasionally breeding for a helpful nature (and I do mean occasionally). I find it much more enjoyable and compelling to fill my Pokedex, even if I live in England and Pokemon like Celebi, Manaphy, Shaymin, Arceus, Darkrai and the rest are all infuriatingly unobtainable for me.
