I don't think Stevonnie really counts to any serious extent so no plans to add her at the moment but maybe in the future. We already have quite a lot to choose from! ...but more Stevonnie in the show wouldn't hurt. :D

Going to paste what I said elsewhere here. I watched it live on TV.

New opening scenes are fantastic. Connie's look changed and she has Rose's sword?! Only a few seconds in and I'm already dying. She's an official sword fighter and Steven's "knight" now.

Pearl/Connie duet song was beautiful and we saw a few more scenes of Pearl's past including Rose fighting what looked like Jasper? Could be wrong there, though. There were also four diamond symbols on the pillar in the stadium Pearl led Steven and Connie to with one looking like a cracked pink diamond so I'm assuming Rose was actually Pink Diamond at some point in the past..?

Steven and Connie double teaming to fight against Pearl was very, very well done and had me on the edge of my seat. Hopefully this means some Stevonnie action in the future. <3

Overall an amazing start to the SU bomb and I'm almost worried that my expectations have been set too high hahaha.

I know, that episode was FANTASTIC in every imaginable way. I didn't have time to check back for those details you mentioned, but I'll look closely now :D

I also love the new opening, but my favorite thing about it is just how happy the Crystal Gems look. Steven has really helped them a lot, hasn't he?

Steven can summon his shield whenever! So awesome! Our dreams of Stevonnie holding Steven's shield and Rose's sword can come true. I also loved the awesome fight scene and Steven using his barrier as a weapon.

Poor Pearl, but the song she and Connie sang about giving everything up to your love interest was amazingly beautiful. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this was the first time Connie sang, right?

Thoughts about Sworn to the Sword:

Sometimes I really get concerned for Pearl, like after Rose's Scabbard, and this episode too. "Knightly servitude" is admirable, but to a certain extent, That talk of "they are everything and you are nothing" with Pearl projecting herself onto Connie while training her... I'm so glad Steven talked to Connie about being a team and fighting together, not sacrificing yourself or putting someone else on a pedestal. Connie and Steven are sword and shield! Strawberry and biscuit! Jam buddies that look out for each other and fight side by side. <3

"During the war, Pearl took pride in risking her destruction for your mother. She put Rose Quartz over everything. Over logic. Over consequence. Over her own life."

How did Rose Quartz react to this behavior? What the heck were they doing all those thousands of years? During that montage, why didn't Rose protect Pearl with her shield powers all those times Pearl jumped in front of her during battle? Anyways, I hope that Pearl can eventually work through her grief over Rose and abandon that mindset that she's only worth something when giving her all toward a person she cares deeply about.

Pearl is so fixated on Rose that it borders on narcissism; as attachment to the love, not the being herself. I think that Rose likely didn't know how to handle the situation, or that anything she said just made Pearl more determined to protect her and to not be a burden.

Pearl definitely took it to extremes. I'm sure Rose would've jumped at the opportunity to protect her from danger in some way -- shield or not -- but it seemed like Pearl gave her little chance to do so. That desire to protect is admirable but sometimes you need to realize that there are things better off being done on your own, for both her own sake and the safety of the team. Rose probably wanted to keep the Crystal Gems out of danger (at least when she wholeheartedly felt that going into certain battles on her own was the best choice) but Pearl insisted on helping. Throwing her life away like that was just too much.

The whole, "I am nothing" mentality creeped me out, yeah, and I still don't feel like Pearl fully learned that sort of thinking wasn't right by the end of the episode. It's.. probably hard to break her of that mentality completely but there are others who consider her precious and wouldn't want her to consider herself worthless unless she has something to protect. She has to live for herself, too.

Very true. We don't yet have the complete history of these moments during the war, and I can imagine Rose stressing that Pearl didn't have to be so reckless. But even so, Pearl most likely remained stubborn with her conviction. Sometimes you just can't get through to folks no matter how hard you try...

I hope that Steven will be able to help Pearl where Rose couldn't. Pearl episodes just break my heart. ;-;

In the midst of E3, I finally watched "Sworn To The Sword"

In regards to how I felt about the episode, most of it has already been said. I like the new opening, probably not as much as the old one, but good in its own right. But even then, it's now one of my favorite episodes.

Pearl continually creeps me out as the series progresses. She's almost borderline insane when it comes to Rose in any way. Although touching, I have a feeling that she'll end up REALLY dead trying to do something completely reckless. And Connie finally sung! The whole song was very cute :3. Stevonnie holding Rose's sword and shield confirmed.

Also, the Diamond hints were everywhere this episode. Now there's legitimate and undeniable evidence that the four leaders are the Diamonds (White, Pink, Yellow, and Blue). I wouldn't go as far as to say that Rose was one of them. As a matter of fact, Rose Quartz and Yellow Diamond are the only ones who had two names and are Gem native. Quartz family, anyone?

Thoughts on Rising Tides/Crashing Skies:

This episode was just okay in my opinion. Again, I'm not a fan of Ronaldo, although the episode did hve some funny moments. It was also nice seeing what the Beach City residents think of the Crystal Gems.

Thoughts on Keeping it Together:

Well, that was horrifying. O_O Imagine if those Gem shards were human body parts, and then enjoy throwing up. Interesting getting some character development for Garnet, and good atmosphere in this episode. Also nice seeing what Peridot's abilities are and Steven fighting with his shield again.

I didn't go in expecting much from Ronaldo's episode that aired yesterday, especially since some people on SU's Reddit and elsewhere were complaining about it. Pretty silly since in the end this is a show for children and not every episode can be plot-heavy or feels-driven but it was hilarious and one of the better ones so far. More so when you compare them to a lot of the other episodes focused on minor characters hahaha. Satisfied with that one.

Juuuust finished Keeping It Together a minute ago. Garnet almost unfused from the panic/stress and I was devastated over how sad she became seeing those gems in Kindergarten forcibly fused.. poor thing. Glad they addressed the concern about her being "too perfect," though - Ruby and Sapphire complement each other really well and are greater than the sum of their parts so naturally Garnet would end up as an all-around awesome character. Anyone else startled by the conversation Garnet was having with herself, by the way? They were showing both sides of her face, one for Ruby and one for Sapphire as their different personalities were conversing within Garnet. Creepy.

Because I was a silly and forgot to watch both yesterday's and today's episodes. Weird considering how anxious I was for the beginning of Stevenbomb on Monday.

I didn't mind this episode. I suspected we got a more filler episode as a break from Sworn to the Sword and a buffer for what would be Keeping it Together. Can't have nonstop seriousness all the time, I suppose.

Peridot has such a cute laugh. She looked so proud of her little getaway. xD Sometimes I forget she's one who could not care less about life on Earth or the life of other gems...
Uh, anyways...Moving on...
It was painful seeing the 'fused' gems silhouettes cry out in pain when forced to fuse into those amalgamation of mindless parts...Poor Garnet was horrified. It makes me even more sad to think that these gems were most likely fallen allies from the war... God that "fusion" elicited a reaction out of me comparable to the first time I saw failed homunculi in Fullmetal Alchemist.

On Sworn To The Sword

Steven and Connie development, yes. Also, it'd be great to see them actually fighting off Homeworld Gems together with that pair they had vs. Pearl. Also, if they fuse again, then that'd made Stevonnie a badass for the sword and shield - look forward to that.

On Keeping It Together

Those broken Gems were Rose's allies? In any case, I see how the Homeworld Gems treat other Gems, and at least we now know what the Kindergarten is for. I also went off at Garnet's breakdown; she (or Sapphire, at least) really feels passionate about fusion and other Gems' lives. Then that argument between Ruby and Sapphire was like... I believe that Ruby only joined the Crystal Gems because of Sapphire; she seems like the milder of the two, so I'd imagine she hated what the Homeworld Gems were doing just the same as Rose did, but apparently Ruby regrets that decision.
