Na, we'll just keep talking and complaining here too (as well as that other thread) you console players aren't helping things much by still buying / playing this game.
Do you really think that we as console players really care about PC players? I have never been so excited for a game as I am for MW2, and do you really think I'd miss it because of something that doesn't even effect me? You PC gamers have this sense of self-entitlement which just makes you seem like a bunch of spoiled brats. I guarantee you at least 90% of those people who signed that petition will go out and buy MW2 once everything settles down.

I feel the same way. You get the best Call of Duty experience on a console anyway. PC gaming is wierd.

I don't get PC Gamers, the only thing I see going for it is games like Sims 3.

Anyway, no modding support? What would you mod in an fps?

What? oh maps, damage levels, no uav or helicopters, gun sway, etc. Many many things can be modded to make the game better, unique, or to meed certain playing needs, i.e. competitive battles.

I'm sure we don't care about your console playing but since CoD was created as a PC game, we who still play on the PC have certain expectations, what we would consider normal.. having dedicated servers and the ability to tweek that games is part of that.

Most likely about 10 - 20% of those that sign will cave.. since, and I agree, MW2 will be an awesome game.. just not one PC gamers will be able to play well due to the lag and crap introduced by this IWNET P2P matchmaking.

do you live under a rock? ANY FPS is better on a PC.. much better player control, better GFX, faster servers, less lag, more options.

    Surely all cheating?

Maps, fair enough. Though there is always farcry for maps on console or pc.

Fair point actually, it was originally a PC game but since then consoles that are fully capable of online have been developed. The way I see it taking away the 'Private Servers' still leaves you with a game on par to the console versions as it should be.

    Less good games though.

And the better GFX aren't used in many games, its like the PS3GFX > 360Gfx debate.

You guys must care about what we as console players do, because you're trying to talk us out of buying a great game.

Also, it's stupid to compare PC's against consoles. It's like comparing a bicycle to a car. Sure the car can do more all around, but that doesn't mean the bicycle isn't fun to ride.

And a little MW2 news update here...
    https://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/26/modern-warfare-2-will-feature-3rd-person-mode-for-playlists/

MW2 will have 3rd person game modes (and private matches). And it even has a video there showing how the 3rd person will look. I personally think it looks... dumb, I wish it was a more in view of 3rd person (like Gears). But some people might like it.

I can't see myself playing in 3rd person view, but it's definitely an awesome option for gameplay. I like it. :P

I dont really like the idea of 3rd person for MW2 but it might be good for some people though. COD is much more of a first person shooter than a third person so I dont see how that will work out well.

I'm personally not going to buy the game for the multiplayer after they announced a lack of dedicated servers. I'll buy it for the campaign, provided I can get it at half the price.

    Good luck with that.

I bought MW in Febuary (so it had been out over a year) and it cost £37. The cheapest I've seen WaW is £30, so good luck getting this for half price in the next year.

It doesn't sound like a mouthwatering prospect.

I should probably try the third person in zombies to see if it will be any good.

Say wut? There's a third person view in WaW Zombies?

It's actually not that hard for me to get it at half the price on launch. At the store where I work we sell games at half the price of the RRP.

When Halo 3 ODST came out we sold it at under half the price of what it costs at Gamestop.
Call of Duty isn't big enough in Denmark for the prices to be kept artificially inflated in stores other than the ones that deal strictly with gaming. Heck, I can get World at War where I work for under half the price of other stores right now.

About the third person thing, can you do it in multiplayer matches or only on zombies? If you can do it in multiplayer, I wonder how hard it will be to play matches.

Fair enough, I desregarded location in my post. D:

    WaW, Zombies. MW2, Multiplayer.

    CoD4: Your two favorite sets

Well, Modern Warfare 2 comes out 3 weeks from today. So I was wondering for those who played the origional, or plan to grab MW2, what were your 2 primary sets for the game? Also, do you plan on bringing them back or touching up with new upgrades?

My primary set was an RPD light machinegun with a Grip attatchment to scratch off perk 1, and than stopping power and deep impact as perks 2 and 3. This thing was an 8 pound box of rape waiting to be opened. I heard that they might be getting rid of Deep impact, so I might change it up for 3x nades or claymores.

My secondary set was M1014 auto shotgun with stopping power, steady aim and martyrdom. Just running arround like a madman and popping people when they least expect it is satisfying.

I will definitly transfer the rpd class, but I could hold off the shotty class til I absolutly need it. Its pretty limited

Sorry, there's no need for ANOTHER thread about Call of Duty. :x

Anyways...I'll probably test out the new guns and keep some of my old favorites. But I gotta get the feel of the game again. I've been playing lots of WaW, so it'll be a change from the old weapons to modern ones. I'll have to see what I do best with. XD

I usually use an M40A3 with stopping power and iron lungs. From the looks of the previews, I don't know if they kept this weapon in MW2... so I'll most likely have to start using something else. :P

As for my second set, it usually ranges from using an M16, to an M60 or even a Scorpion. I'll probably use new weapons to replace these with though.

    Surely all cheating?

It's hardly cheating if everyone is playing by the same rules for that specific server. While there may be a ton of server mods out there for COD4 I don't personally like, there's probably just as many I find enjoyable to play even if not all the time, and the fact that the option is there to allow for modified server rulesets is nice in the first place. But anyway, there's an entire different thread for discussing this so i'll stop talking.
