  • Ok I admit I haven't been here for some time, I probably won't be around soon as school activities are starting (you know.. html php sql + dance + singing) and this makes me super busy. I'm really sorry.

Now, I'm debating this and I need some help- Which Pokémon should I get to fill in the 6th slot? I was thinking of waiting until I get to Blackthorn City to get a Teddiursa so I can evolve it into an Ursaring, but then again, I do have the Miltank, Togepi and Meowth sitting in my PC just waiting to be used. And there's also the chance of me finding a Snubbull nearby Ecruteak City. There's just so many choices... @_@

Which should I go for? I'm personally leaning towards Teddiursa, but I need a few other opinions before I finalize. :P

I reckon you should go for something utilizing Special Attack, since four of your members are attacking pokemon. (Togekiss' not bad.. but I have a thing against it)
Your Kangaskhan has a bad nature :(
    Might want Headbutt on Dunsparce.

Strongly suggesting putting a (future) Rock/Ice attack on your team.

Normal is a fun type. I'll add you once I'm on my laptop.

    +1

  • Yeah, I know, my Kangaskhan has a bad nature, I was a bit disappointed myself. But I did get it out of the Pokéwalker so you never really know what the natures will be anyway, I'm not all that worried. :P

I will put some kind of Rock/Ice move soon. I tried Rock Tomb for Shakey Snake but that didn't really work out all that well, low PP and whatnot. I'll be trying to get Earthquake, that's something I want.

Also, I figured I wouldn't be able to find a Snubbull any time soon. I was kinda hoping to get a Granbull but I guess I'll have to wait. =/ I think I'll use Togekiss for Kanto, though. I'll try to have a semi-different team, but I'll keep like 2/3 members of my previous team. That'll be for a later update, though- right now I'll continue grinding for Clair and catch a Teddiursa when I'm able.

I think when I'm done with this I'll do Ground or Water next. Just a thought. :3

  • Recently, I beat Pryce and just finished the first half of the Radio Tower. Heracross is proving to be extremely useful.

*Oh, and, EJ, I'm still not on the list for Bug. Thx. :)

  • At this point, I wouldn't mind another physical attacker. Only 2 of my Pokémon are really suited in that area. This is how I see it depending on stat arrangements and natures:

    Mother Hen- Physical
    Shakey Snake- Tank
    Deereisen- Physical
Handy- Speed Support (with those Screeches)
    Cinnamon- Special

Having another Physical would balance things out, as far as I'm concerned. Hell, even another Special attacker would work well. :3

I started my normal type challenge. I picked totodile as my starter. Got the mystery egg and brought it to elm. I just caught a rattata that I named Bella and she has a hasty nature. I also caught a hoothoot that I named Owl with pretty good ivs and he has a sassy nature.

  • Ok so I busted my butt and got the final four gym badges, then, in a burst of overconfidence, headed up Mt. Silver and fought Red. I think you can guess what happened next. I didn't even land one single goddamn hit on his Pikachu. WTF!?!? So after getting my butt handed to me I went and challenged the new E4. And promptly got booted out after taking out Will. Soooo.. looks like I won't post for a while considering I'll be doing some SERIOUS GRINDAN!!! Oh, btw my team is a level 69 Machamp, level 68 Heracross, level 69 Hitmonlee, and level 69 Hitmonchan, plus my HM slaves. Currently training Heracross up one level ;)

  • PLEASE ADD ME TO THE PEOPLE THAT DO GRASS! I've been training only grass types for a long time (every game I have I've been training only grass types and trading in pokemon like Ludicolo and Tropius for Surf and Fly, and those games are Sapphire, LeafGreen,Diamond, Platinum,SoulSilver and HeartGold), and I've just started over on HeartGold to do it all again. So count me in! Don't worry, I just started. These are my pokemon:
    Bayleef
    Weepinbell
Tropius (migrated it from Sapphire, lvl.23)
    Oddish
    Paras
    Skiploom
    I'll keep you up-to-date

  • So I got a DSi XL today and since I can get access to the Intarwebs from there, I decided it would be better to post updates there whenever I don't have access to my laptop. Anyway, here's all the updates I can give:

    -Pushed through the Ice Cave
-Caught 3 new Pokémon- Sweet Stuff the Teddiursa (without the space due to name restrictions) (Level 20, Male), Tonguella the Lickitung (I always make a DW reference >:3) (Level 24, Female), and Notorious the Tauros (Number 1 amirite ;D) (Level 20, Male)

And here are my current team changes:
-Shakey Snake has sadly been replaced by Notorious :<
-Cinnamon has been replaced by Tonguella, as she has a Modest nature and she shall become my new special sweeper >:3

Anyway, that's all for now. Back to grinding, although I have no idea what to expect, I haven't fought Clair since my playing though HeartGold. xD

Also, am I on the Normal list yet? Just wanted to make sure. :3

  • Ok, after some major major major level grinding, I finally took out the Ultimate Trainer, Red.
    Pikachu vs Machamp
Pikachu used Volt Tackle did about 1/3. Machamp used EQ, took Pika down to a sliver of health, and Hail finished the job! Good start so far.
    Red sends out Lapras
    Lapras vs Machamp
Lapras missed with whatever attack it used (I don't remember, nor do I care) and I one shot it with Vital Throw
At this point Machamp is down to about half health, and not being able to read Japanese, I use my HM Slave as revive/healing fodder and to scout what he sent out.
Blastoise vs Sudowoodo (lvl 20 :D)
    Blastoise OHKO'd me :(
    Go Hitmonchan!
Hitmonchan: Took two Thunder Punches to wipe out Blastoise.
    Snorlax vs Hitmonchan
Hitmonchan two shot him with Sky Uppercut
    Four down, two to go..
    Charizard vs Spearow (more healing)
    Charizard vs Hitmonchan
Charizard used Air Slash brought me down to 32 HP remaining!
I crit'd w/ Thunder Punch though and OHKO'd it, meaning all he had left was Venasaur.
    Venasaur vs Hitmonchan
Hitmonchan used Ice Punch, Venasaur down to about 1/3 health.
    Venasaur KO'd JackieCHAN :(
Go, BruceLEE and avenge your brother!!!
BruceLEE used Blaze Kick, and the battle was done. I finally beat this Monotype.
My quote shall be, "Level grinding sucks. Period."
    Final Team:
    BruceLEE the Hitmonlee, level 83
    Blaze Kick
    Hi Jump Kick
    Rock Smash
    Strength
One of the better ones. He was ok up until he got Blaze Kick, then he got better coverage.

    JackieCHAN the Hitmonchan level 86
    Thunder Punch
    Fire Punch
    Ice Punch
    Sky Uppercut
Easily the MVP. With a moveset that covers near every weakness in my team, and a great attack to boot, he was amazing.

    Hornz the Heracross level 79
    Shadow Claw
    Brick Break
    Aerial Ace
    MegaHorn
Had to be the LVP. I loved the little guy, but he was hard to train and ended up a few levels behind the rest of my team. Didn't even see the field against Red.

Muscle (I think.. Stupid Japanese) the Machamp level 84
    EarthQuake
    Revenge
    Vital Throw
    Payback
She was one of my favorites as she crushed the opposition muahahaha. Crappy movepool let her down, so I had to boost with a few TM's.

And special thanks to Slave the Totodile, Slave the Spearow, and NOUSE the Sudowoodo for revive fodder and HM help.

  • Hi there,
I'm going to take on the Flying challenge.

    To make it official:

    Name: Archaon
Team: I don't know yet. Probably Pidgeot but what else...?
    Version: SoulSilver
    Type: Flying

    Edit:
I started my first challenge of this kind with Totodile.
On my way to Mr.Pokemon I didn't train it very much. After I recieved my first Pokeballs I instantly caught a Pidgey and started to train.
When I fought Falkner the first try was a bad loss (damn Roost).
I was successfull in the second try. My Pidgey reached level 16 after defeating his and that one level was enough to smash his Pidgeotto.

While moving on to Azalea I failed to find a Hippop. Maybe I should search more seriously.

    Anyways...

I rescued the Slowpoke with almost no effort and headed to the Gym.
Meanwhile my Pidgey reached level 18 and evolved into Pidgeotto.
The battle against Bugsy was kinda onesided. Only Scither managed to hurt my Pidgeotto enough to make me use a potion. The rest of his team was a piece of cake.

Now I'm heading to Ilex Forest and Goldenrod.

    My current team:

    Pidgeotto level 22:
    Twister
    Roost
    Gust
    Quick Attack

    Totodile level 9:
    Scratch
    Leer
    Water Gun
    Rage

    Bellsprout level 3:
    Vine Whip
    Flash
