  • Able looked over to the comotion going on across the room and just simply blinked. She had delt with Ghost Pokemon a few times in the past, mostly due to being more active at night time. Nincada weren't big fans of the sunlight. Able quit observing over the two of them and crawled back into place. She didn't find it weird at all!

"Awww what? You offer to go with him and not me? Its because he's a boy isn't it? Figures." Able said with a huff, though she didn't seem to be showing any signs that she was jokinging about what she said. "I had a specific reuest in mind... but I'm not in much of a rush at the moment. If you both are planning on heading out I can lead you all through it nothing else has me occupied." Able said.

  • Niishi the blushing Nidoran(F)

Gaping, the Nidoran tried her best to force a response out. "It-It was an offer to both of you.... Honest... But if you'd like to go on a mission in a group with me," she continued, unsure of if ut was a joke(and not being able to take one anyhow), "You can find me around here and saay so, I guess."

She looked towards a wall with papers posted up. Some Pokemon were gathered around there. "Is that the boards for helping Pokemon? I should go make myself useful!...." Itching to get out of this embarrassing situation, she shot off. At the boards, she forgot what she ran from for a moment, smiling at her ability to not trip over something this time. She could get used to that..... Thinking back, she realized Able wasn't a Shedinja. She remembered hearing that Shedinja float. Able clearly put her bug claws all over her. Maybe she's whatever evolves into Shedinja, and that's why they look alike?

In deep thought, she shook her head to clear it, accidentally slapping somekne with her ears. Niishi jumped and saw a Ralts holding a paper; the poor victim. She squeaked an apology, then remembered to be bold. "Sorry! I didn't mean that! I just wanted to join someone on a mission, th-that's all!"

    Brewing of a New Horizon

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Angela drifted on the small breeze that greeted the new morning, sailing over the bridge that connected to the town by name of Haven. Tendrils of the sun's rays met her amber eyes, masking her apprehension and excitement beneath sparkling spots. With a move of her outstretched leaves, she willed herself to be brought to lower ground, and stopped just a few inches above the stone.

If there were words to describe the town's demeanor, they might have been ordinary, or unimpressive. Angela knew better though, and would have elected to say it was bustling with the unique opportunities it presented, and warm with the energy that its denizens upheld every day.

Today however, it was none of these things. Even to the most trained eye the town would have seemed dull, like the silence that places its blanket of calm and sleep over a house that's livelier than it cares to show. Haven might have been exactly like this house, if it weren't for the welcoming colors of the markets and houses it hugged in its boundaries, and the shopkeepers and Pokémon that were getting ready for the day even at this hour. From afar Angela could make out the figure of a Pokémon lazily putting up a sign that read in bright letters "OPEN" on a flat board above a stand that hosted oddities and promises of treasure. The owner's keys jingled with more chipper than the actual Pokémon itself, which was painfully obvious on its small round face.

I feel bad for doing this, but I can't wait any longer, Angela thought to herself. Bobbing up and down on air, Angela floated to the wooden stand, and the details of the shop became sharpened with the clarity of a close distance. For a few moments Angela watched the now recognizable Klefki do its work, the constant clattering of its keys becoming increasingly annoying. Business must go by fast with this one, Angela mused. If Klefki was aware of its noises, it never said. Klefki, however, was aware of the japes that were made in town or the looks Pokémon gave each other when he passed by – but he never spoke a word of it to anyone either. Not that he didn't care, oh no, but rather, it wasn't something he was really capable of absolving, so he bore it. Klefki had a rather lonely existence in Haven, truth be told, but there were few places that his sort of work could prosper in, so he did his best. His efforts more than made up for his inconvenient noises, and that was at least a part of him that was praised and gave him energy to rise up in the morning. The delight in his clients' eyes and the "thank yous" of his regular customers were more than enough to wash away that small stain, and brought smiles that outmatched his frowns.

Angela was completely oblivious to these parts of Klefki's life however, and made no efforts to conceal her ignorance of his own troubles when she snapped "Excuse me, do you know where I might find the Guild House?" Klefki's dark eyes shot up and with a startled expression regarded her minutely. Realization dawned on him, and he swept away his obvious surprise with his usual smile, if it could be called that.

"You must be new here! How exciting, another explorer to test their skills with the town's Guild!" Klefki tittered with his shopkeeper's tone, and his keys clinked together slightly more vigorously in accordance to his mood. "Turn behind you, and continue straight down the road. The Guild House should be the first building on the right."

Angela nodded with rushed courtesy, although her smile was at least genuine. "Thank you very much; I'm sure I won't have any trouble finding my way there." She laughed at her dry humor, but Klefki eyed her with faint confusion. He smiled still, but he wasn't very perceptive of humor, he was the butt of jokes a bit too much to trust laughs anymore.

"Yes, yes, I'm sure you won't. I wish you luck, ah-"

"Angela." This time, Angela was all warmth in her face and tone, which seemed to soften the uneasiness in Klefki.

"Angela. It was pleasant to greet you here, I'm sure you'll make a fine explorer."

I sure hope so. "I'll do my best." With a final nod, Angela heralded the end of the encounter with a turn of her body, and glided down the dirt path.

The silence of the town was eroded by the risings of Pokémon and early rustling of shops getting ready today's wave of customers, and the wind that passed through the town that stood as a pillar above the sea. Daylight's tendrils blended in with the blue sky now since the sun had emerged fully in the midst of morning just barely above the horizon that made the sky seem to become one with the sea. The crashes of water upon rock could be heard even at this height, though it was likened to distant splashes one would expect to hear at a sloshy fountain. The Guild House became extremely obvious to Angela now, and her cheeks flushed a faint red with a sense of embarrassment.

Of course this is the Guild House it's the biggest building here! Angela glanced at the large bulletin board that was covered in articles, all of them either pleas for help or posters that depicted menacing looking Pokémon. Do they look menacing because of the way they were drawn, or because of their reputation? Angela decided it was both. This was only a glimpse of what she saw inside the massive building, however, and so she crept quietly in with nothing to give away her presence saves for the whispers of wind beneath her leaves and cotton. The room inside was empty except for a counter and stairway that led into Arceus knows where.

Angela's small exploration was cut off when a small Snubbull made it clear that she knew Angela was here. Snubbull was a small Pokémon, but her years of experience as an Explorer were evident in the way she carried herself and the aura of authority that laced itself in her tone and gait.

    "May I help you?"

Angela whipped around to face her, and would have laughed at her almost ridiculous appearance at the counter that was definitely too large for her if it weren't for the sharpness in her voice and the demeanor that spoke of no-nonsense on her face.

"Ah, uh, yes, actually, I'm uh-"

"If you're seeking a request form to put up on the billboard, then come again later when the Guild is ready for business. I'm afraid we're still gathering ourselves up for the day." Snubbull began to go back to her paperwork, but Angela still stood there which pricked at Snubbull's attention and annoyance if she was being honest.

"Again, dear, the Guild is not ready for business. I'm sorry, but you'll simply have to come back later."

Angela regained her composure and replied in earnest, if maybe even with a churlish tone, though she did not really intend it.

"No, you misunderstand. I'm looking to become an apprentice here at the Guild."

Snubbull's brow raised a little, and she shifted in her seat to accommodate her newfound interest. She smiled a little, revealing her canine teeth. "I see. My apologies, I sometimes forget that not all Pokémon who come here are not solely seeking help. Just wait a moment, and I'll fetch you a contract."

Snubbull sifted through some piles of paper, and gave a guttural noise of frustration when she couldn't find what she wanted. She shot Angela an apologetic glance, to which Angela only smiled with encouragement. It was all Angela could do to not burst with excitement, so the silence in which Snubbull moved to find the registration papers was not unwelcome to Angela. Angela's respite was short-lived however, and Snubbull made a grunt of approval when she pawed at a pile of paper that was neatly lined with all sorts of blanks that required filling in. Snubbull motioned for Angela to come forward, and grabbed out a feather pen that appeared to be from some Pelipper. Dipping it in ink, she poised her paw above the paper, and looked up at Angela.

"This will only take a few minutes, we just need some necessary information to mark you down for proper recording in our roster and some checks to make sure you're not of any inappropriate background. Is that alright?"

Angela nodded. That was all Snubbull needed, and she placed her focus back on to the paper. The mock-interview was short just as Snubbull promised, and she placed the form in a box that read "REGISTRATION INBOX".

With a true grin, Snubbull got off of her seat and made her way to a door that was locked. Angela followed behind her, and with a turn of a key, they found themselves in a storage room. Snubbull went by several shelves, and picked up various items – a worn yet trusty looking bag, a glowing gem that had a faint light inside that appeared dormant, and the most valuable one of all – a bronze badge, designed in the shape of a paw with wings on each side. Snubbull turned toward Angela, and lifted them up to her expectantly.

"These will be yours from now on. Each item is equally important to an Explorer, and you won't find one without this equipment. The bag is for exactly what you'd expect to hold whatever you need for your explorations and missions. This crystal is what we call a Warp Crystal – it's a chipped part of the giant crystal in town. Where ever you are, should you need to come back to Haven, call on the Warp Crystal's abilities and you'll be teleported instantly back to town. Lastly, this is your badge – it doesn't look like much now, but as you gain prestige and honor as an explorer of our Guild, you get new ones that resemble your status. Did you catch all of that?"

Angela nodded with energy. How could I not? Everything has built up to this moment, Angela said only to her conscience. Snubbull thrust the gear onto Angela, which was difficult since Angela didn't have any hands or paws, but with her own magical abilities they hovered in the air in front of her.

With a final grunt, Snubbull said "Good. I didn't to plan to repeat it." Her tone was gruff but not insensitive; it was more so a dry attempt at sarcasm. But it did little to Angela's mood all the same. Snubbull softened herself though, and beamed at Angela.

"All jokes and the like aside, congratulations! I hereby announce you a formal member of our Guild. I warn you, our trials are rigorous and not many are able to live up to our standards. But with effort and perseverance, you just might surpass our expectations. Come back during the evening, and you'll be given a tour of our Guild and even eat with us if that is your wish. In the meantime, you're welcome to look at the jobs available on the bulletin board, I'm sure you'll find something available to you and suitable for someone of your ranking. There will probably even be some members looking to team up to take on difficult jobs, so if you so desire you might find someone willing to work with you. Above all, be careful. We do not relish the failure or disappearance of our apprentices, especially those just beginning. Do not forget your crystal. That's all, for now. I'll see you again."

Snubbull escorted Angela out of the storage room, and shut it again. Snubbull scurried off to her duties, and Angela was left to herself. The reality of her dreams was almost too good to be true. Angela looked again at her badge, and smiled brightly, though she was the only one aware of it.

An explorer, at last! Giddy with this in mind, Angela glided back outside of the Guild House. She had some other preparations to make before skimming the jobs on the board, and she also needed to find some place quiet to meditate on her thoughts and plans.

By now, the sun was shining happily in the clear, deep blue sky, and the town was alive. Wisps of clouds floated above, and the breeze of the sea glossed over the town with gentle caresses. Pokémon made their way through town on their own paths and daily responsibilities, and Angela could hear shopkeepers speaking with customers and Pokémon children and adults making conversation with each other in carefree attitudes. The dew on the grass was well gone by now, and the blades of long turfs of grass danced in the wind. The trees spoke to each other in a more reserved manner, murmuring and whispering in voices made of branch and wind.

The morning was a harbinger of much more than just a new day, as it always was. Bliss was currently the lord over Haven.

    Gelius - Explorers Guild - A Questionnaire...

"Are you serious?" Snubbul said. He then turns back and mumbles. "Training a Sneasel for explorer? This harsh training will kill him... Plus a Sneasel insulted me... So i don't think i should accept him..." The secretary said.

"Wait is the training that harsh? And what is that thing you said to not accept me only because a random Sneasel insulted you?!" I said getting mad.

"EH?!" The scared secretary said. "No no no no no no. I did not said i hate the Sneasel species. And our training is the most easy in the whole big giant and our world!" Snubbul said ready to give my questionnaire. "N-name?!" Wow did i really scared it?

    "Gelius." I said.

    "Homeland?"

"The Frozen Lands, on a forest near Obscure Woods, Frozen Quarry Trail and Icicle Spikes Plains." I said, referring the three locations near home.

"OK. Your Map, Warp Crystal, Bag and Explorer Badge. Now please go do missions without causing havoc." Snubbul said.

    Explorer's Guild - Lobby
    The Bulletin Board!

Now that his attention had shifted from that Poochyena who wanted to recruit him as a servant to the Bulletin Board, where missions and quests galored, Fogg felt more at ease with himself. His tired mind was still bugging him, but at that moment it was a great deal more under control. However, one couldn't tell if an outburst like before was to happen or not; it was something only time would tell. Anyway, his groggy eyes scanned the board, skimming through the posts that he deemed unfit for his style.

Escorting missions were out of the question. He'd leave that to friendlier Pokémon, as he did not want to bother with small talk with the client, who would probably want to have conversation while he/she was being taken to his/her destination. No, thanks... Let's see...

Not before long he had picked out two missions. Both of them meant going to a place called the Stone Grotto, but their objectives were the exact opposite. One of them was inspecting a coffin-like box, which made something inside of him feel funny and excited - perhaps something that Ghost-type Pokémon felt. The other one invovled an outlaw Pokémon by the name of Krokorok, who had mugged a Misdreavus, which appealed to his more rational side. Hmm... What to do... Which one should I take?

Then, suddenly, a Gible snatched up the post about the Krokorok. It appeared that he had beat him to it. He appeared to be concerned for a moment, and Fogg had a hunch that told him that Gible wanted to tag with someone to go on that mission. He approached him and cleared his throat.

"Hello. I couldn't help but notice that you took that mission about the Krokorok." Fogg said, "I was thinking about going on that mission as well." As much as he enjoyed going solo, he knew that there was absolutely no way that his gassy body could take on that Krokorok outlaw. "What do you say we team up and bring him down faster?"

Holy Arceus, that was awkward for him. But it was just a step in becoming stronger. One day, he could go on missions by himself without breaking a sweat. But that day was not the day.

All Potions Need The Right Ingredients
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was fully day by the time Angela toured Haven and got a feel for the people there. The day's sunny light gave the sea-town a nice warmth despite the breeze coming from the waters below. The environment was different, far different from her usual surroundings and climate back at home, but Angela minded it little. It was more pleasant, and less stuffy, Angela reflected. It was certainly something she could get used to.

Angela weaved through the potpourri of shops and Pokémon, chancing upon several bizarre and exquisite items she hadn't known existed. Her main interest was in the Kricket Inn, the unlikely duo of both Kricketune and Kricketot made for entertaining hosts. Plus, the drinks were rather stellar and reminded Angela of her alchemical teachings back at home. That isn't to say that this was the only interesting shop, she also found the Klefki's Appraisal stand to be intriguing despite the nuisances the Klefki's biology provided.

All of these things lingered in her mind, but the foremost subject of importance to her was the bulletin board at the Guild House. Angela was confident in her abilities considering how long she studied and sparred with her uncle Robert, but understood well the dangers of overestimating her power. It felt irksome to her, but she'd need aid if she was going to tackle jobs that were on her level.

Which was what she planned to do. With an air of determination, she swiftly glided back to the Guild House. Upon reaching the entrance, she breathed deeply, and flew in. The main chamber was filled with explorers to her surprise. She knew there was a lot to said of Haven's Guild reputation and status of prestige amongst explorers, but she never thought there'd be so many members. She did well in hiding her shock, however.

She eyed the board, but discovered she wouldn't need to. A small group of Pokémon were huddled around some wanted poster - from what she could see, the outlaw in question was a Krokorok. From what else she could analyze, the other Pokémon seeking to take it on were a Gible, and a Gastly.

Neither of them are even suited to take on Krokorok - they don't have the necessary advantages to KO him with just themselves. Perfect. Angela wasted no time, and spoke with sly confidence that betrayed her small form.

"I'm your Cottonee if you have need of someone who can tussle with a Krokorok."

    for him.

    I'm trash.

    Nick - The Dedenne
    San
Nick was witnessing one of the oddest of scenes. Never in his life has he seen a Gastly ever try to fend someone off (in this case a Poocheyna). If anything, Gastly is the pokemon most people would fend off from his experiences with them. He sighed wistfully, remembering when he took a Gastly under his wing.

And then Nick got sent to jail.

"Nope," He told Nishi, the poisonous rodent, "most Gastlies I've seen like to create chaos, not fend it off."

Able, the Nincada, frowned, "Nishi, you invite Nick instead of me? Is it because I'm a girl?" She was obviously teasing. "Anyways, I had a specific request in mind... but I'm not in much of a rush at the moment. If you both are planning on heading out I can lead you all through it nothing else has me occupied."

"No, I meant it for both of you," Nishi quickly replied. She scurried off towards the board before tumbling into a Ralts. The nidoran squeaked, bowed in apology, before swinging around, "Sorry I-I didn't mean that. I just wanted someone to join me on a mission."

"Well, I am good with anything. I want someone to go on a mission with too," Nick replied.

  • Able the Nincada

Able was quickly amused at the Nidoran's reaction. It seemed nobody was going after the band of Nincada and even then, the newer folks here didn't seem like TOO big of a threat... Able wanted to get into the whole "explorer" feel anyways to blend in with the crowd anyways! She wasn't going to evolve any sooner if she stood around doing nothing! Able quickly followed the Nidoran , only to get a piece of paper to land right on top of her after the Ralts fell over.

"Relax I'm teasing! Doubt you two would make a good pair anyways." She continued to joke. "Well if the offer is open, then I can tag along. I'd like to get to know my teammates a bit and get a feel on the whole explorer thing. I do have my eyes on a certain request at the moment though so... hmm..." Able said, giving off a couple of chirps, similar to what a normal cicada would make. "Oh! I wanna look!" Able said as she crawled closer to the board. She couldn't exactly see the higher up requests due to how short she was but Able sure was trying to get up there. "Ngh!...cursed tiny legs...! What's the point of wings if I can't fly with them?"

    The Town of Haven

Argus moseyed on up to the bulletin board on which all of the available jobs were tacked. There were some other recruits crowded around it, but he didn't pay them much attention. While Able was examining the board he glanced over to the Fenekin that approached the board. However this would casued her to suddenly fumble right onto her back! "Ack!" She'd shout.

His focus was briefly broken when a Nincada that had been examining the board next to him fell onto its back and got stuck. He stared at it for a moment with a blank expression, before returning his gaze to the jobs.

Coincidentally there was a listing on a group of Nincanda bandits. He glanced between the struggling Nincada and the piece of paper. Were all Nincada that clumsy?

    Argus grabbed the job listing.

Able suddenly flailed its little legs around. Of course she'd get into this position in front of everyone! She could already hear a few Pokemon chuckling. "Ack....gah!...comon... move!" Able muttered as she wobbled a bit. She looked over to the Fennekin who just ignored her! The nerve! She didn't want to go off asking for help or anything though. The Nincada continued attempting to get back on her feet.

Argus blinked a few times. "Do you need help? Are Nincada always like this?" he inquired, not considering how that might be taken.

"NO! I do NOT need help! Nincada are NOT always like this, smart ass! I just... had an accident that's all! Ugh...gah!" Able huffed as he legs flailed around more. She was making some progress but still just as humiliated as ever! Not to mention she was making a scene.

"Oh." Argus responded. "That's fine. I still shouldn't have any trouble taking out this band of brigands. See ya later." Complying with the Nincada's angered rebuke, Argus turned to walk away with the paper in his mouth.

"H-hey! Hold up!" Dammit..." Able flailed again. "I just got a bit frustrated! Help me out here would ya? I'll even tag along with you! I wanted to take that job myself..." Able said with a huff.

Argus turned back to the bug with a raised eyebrow. "Well you should've just said so." He trotted over to the insect and used his nose to prod it back onto its feet. Was it an it? Bugs had genders. He couldn't really tell from the high-pitched voice, though. "So you want to come along? What are you?" He cocked his head to the side a bit. "Oh, and your name. What is that?"

Able rolled back onto her feet, sighing in relief. "Ah... thanks and all that. Oh uh, I'm Able! I just joined up with this group a few minutes ago." Able explained.

Argus frowned. Able was a rather androgynous name. His first question remained unanswered. "You are Able. What are you?"

Able tilted her head. "A Nincada of course!...alright alright I'll be serious. A bit of a weird coincidence that a Nincada joined the explorers at the same time as that request eh? Well I maaayyyy have had an affiliation with those Nincadas. They aren't the most pleasent bunch to be around so I had to get my butt out of there. Being a bandit kinda sucks you know?" Able explained. "Soooo I wanna get back at em! Simple enough right?"

Argus shook his head and made an expression not unlike a child pouting. "No, no, no. Do I refer to you as a boy or a girl?"

Able blinked. So that whole explanation was pointless! Exposition be damned! Furthermore, she wasn't sure weither or not to be insulted or not by the question. She sounded like a girl and LOOKED like a girl... right? "You can't tell from my voice? I'm a girl you goof!" Able said, giving the Fennekin a poke on the nose. Guess I can't blame ya. We don't have alot of...er...noticeable differences between genders. Kinda like your species I think... right? Just a guess honestly. Heheh..."

Argus narrowed his eyes. "My muscles are more pronounced than a female's, my cheek fur isn't as long, my ears are a bit larger, my eyes are more rigid and my flames burn ever so slightly more red." He huffed as he glanced between the Nincada and the exit. "I suppose you can come along. I'm leaving now, though," he finished as he turned and began walking out the door.

Able really did not like this guy. She didn't need such a detailed explanation! She could barely tell the difference either way and she sure wasn't going go over a Nincada's differences! Able turned back to Nisshi and Nick. "Well I'm heading out! Good luck you two!" Able said before following Argus out the door.

The Fennekin moved at a brisk pace out of the guild and right over the bridge that led out of town. Able scurried to keep up. Argus had no intention of breaking stride, and at this rate it wouldn't take them long to reach River Belle Path.

Hopefully the Nincada didn't fall behind on the way there.

    River Belle Path

Able followed Argus along the path, occasionally digging underground to get out of the sunlight. She was quieter than usual due to the rather awkward meet up they had earlier... she wasn't sure what to say to the guy without getting some kind of smart reaction! Able just... kinda stared at Argus as she followed behind. "...So uh... why'd you become an explorer?" Able simply asked.

Argus glanced sidelong at the Nincada, ducking beneath some underbrush coming off of the nearby trees. It seemed like the road was beginning to transform into River Belle Path.

"To see the world, of course. Why else?" he chirped, barely looking back at Able.

Able just continued to stare on curiously. "Seems like a simple enough reason." She replied as she tried catching up to him. "Well! I've always been curious in what being an explorer is like! On top of that...well I just wanna do something! Being out in the wild most of the time wears a girl down after awhile!" Able said, mostly making it detailed to try and top Argus. "Dunno what things were like with you but I figure you got pretty bored with how things were too right?" Able said.

"The Ember Forests rarely have a dull moment," Argus responded simply. "I don't get bored. What is that?"

He raised his nose and sniffed the air. "I smell wood. The old bridges of River Belle Path, perhaps? I think we're here," he finished as he stepped onto one of the rickety old bridges, not even stopping to take notice. "Yeah, smells like it." He took a few more steps and only paused when the sound of creaking wood became more than a little evident.

He glanced down at the decaying bridge beneath him, staring through a large hole that dropped off into a rapidly flowing creek. "Oh."

Able just blinked at his response. Never got bored? She found that very hard to believe! She was discovering more reasons to not like this Argus fellow! Able quickly stopped when they approached the decaying bridge and peeked over the ledge. "Ah geez... this thing..." Able said looking back to Argus. "... I'm pretty light so I should be able to cross without a problem. You however... hm..." Able inspected the bridge to check its condition.

"Oh well," Argus said with a slight shrug, continuing to cross over the bridge. "I suppose you're right."

"Wha-...H-hey you!" Able shouted at Argus. "Are you crazy? Look at that thing!"

Argus continued to trot across the bridge without a care in the world. He was already more than halfway across. What would be the point in turning back?

Able huffed at Argus and shook her head. "Gyah! Hold up will you?!" Able said in a frustrated tone as she stepped onto the bridge and started to slowly make her way across.

"If I hold up I don't think the bridge will!" Argus called back cheerfully. "Besides, can't get to a group of bandits without taking a few risks, right?"

"Yeah yeah! Ugh." Able muttered as she continued across the bridge. Who did this guy thing he was? Always acting like he was so much better then her... she couldn't wait to top him in the end!

Almost as if in response to Able's mental comment, Argus stepped off the bridge, the shift in weight causing it to bounce uneasily.

Able felt the bridge suddenly shift and wobble around a bit. "Ah!" She shouted as she nearly lost her footing. She did not want to end upside down again! She froze up over the bridge, glancing down at the pit below. "W-warn me before you do that! I'm not as heavy as you are!"

Argus turned back to Able. "Oh? Sorry. I'll make sure to—"

    "Look at me."

Argus hesitated, raising an eyebrow. Had he just heard something?

    "Over here. Look at me!"

It was barely a whisper, but something was speaking to him. "Do you hear that?" he yelled to Able.

Able looked up at him as if shocked. "Hear what?! The sound of the creek down there? Yup! Heard it one hundred percent!" Able said as she started to move forward.

Argus frowned. The bug had heard nothing.

    "Look!"

He looked around, trying to make out the source of the voice. His eyes locked onto a bright red and white object.

"Down here!" the Foongus whispered, wiggling its head at Argus. The fennec fox kneeled down and sniffed the mushroom.

"Isn't the point of camouflage to keep you hidden?" he asked.

The Foongus froze and glared at Argus. It pouted its stubby arms for a moment before suddenly flailing about violently. Argus gave a tiny yelp as the Astonish caught him off guard.

"Don't tell me how to live my life!" the small fungus yelled. "Capture on!"

Argus shook himself off and cocked his head once he regained his footing. What?

"Grow, grow, grow, grow! Stick to the Stun Spore quo! If you wanna be cool, follow one simple rule and stick to the Stun Spore quo!"

Argus wasn't entirely sure he understood that reference. "Do you even know Stun Spore?"

The Foongus halted again, the power of Growth faintly glowing around him. "What's it to you?"

    "I dunno, I just figured—"

"Attack!" the Foongus yelled, releasing a torrent of light green energy with Absorb.

Argus ducked to the side and loosed a flurry of Embers at the mushroom. It squeaked in pain and stumbled backwards.

"Now you've done it! Prepare to face mine fury!"

Argus narrowed his eyes. He sneezed out another few Embers and then used his paw to gently push the Foongus, causing it to roll back into the underbrush.

"You'll never be rid of me! Never!" the little fungus declared as it tumbled out of sight.

Argus' ear twitched. That was strange. He glanced back at the bridge. "You coming?"

Able eventually crossed the bridge. She totally missed out on the fight and everything!...even though it wasn't much of a fight to begin with. "Congrats, you spat fire on a mushroom. Comon lets go. We still have a ways to go." Able said with a frustrated tone.

Argus frowned. A real kill joy, this bugger. Heh. Bugger. He chuckled a bit at his mental pun.

As Able moved on forward, she noticed another small river nearby... thankfully not several miles down a giant pit, but on the downside, there wasn't exactly a bridge to cross. Not from this part of the river anyways. The stream was moving much faster then what Able remembered.

"You gonna try to cross this one too hotshot?" Able teased, pun unintended.

Argus stared at it for a moment, as if seriously considering the idea. "I could try, but it probably wouldn't work."

Able laughed. "Ha! Yeah I doubt that fluffy fur on you would look too good if it was all wet!" Able teased once again. "Guess we'll just have to walk around it then. I know there's a way around this thing..." Able would notice something just above the river. A Yanma moving fairly quickly as if taunting Able! It seemed to be focused on Able.

"A Nincada? Where's your buddies? Got bored with them or something?" The Yanma taunted. It was one thing or another.

"I can't explore a little? Look do you know an easy way across this river or what?" The Nincada asked.

"I think I'm a buddy," Argus said flatly as he stared up at the dragonfly.

The Yanma moved closer to the water, just lightly tapping it. "I don't seem to have much trouble! Guess being able to fly kinda helps with that!" The Yanma said. "I wouldn't help you anyways. You're in my territory. Turn around." It threatened.

    "Dragonflies have territory?" Argus questioned.

"Yeah no." Able said as she held up her claws. The Dragonfly sighed and was swift to ram right into Able. However she was able to hold her ground pretty well.

"Comon you call that an attack?" Able shouted as she lept to scratch the Yanma with her claws. However it just simply flew up into the air.

"Use your stubby little wings!" Argus yelled.

"Oh so close!" The Yanma said. Able sneered at him.

"Aren't we making something out of nothing?" chirped Argus.

"Oh no! How can I ever reach you now? Without the ability to fly, it looks like it's hopeless!" Able said sarcastically. She quickly focused her eyes on the Yanma. While it was busy taunting her, Able would quickly vanish out of thin air. Before the Yanma knew it, Able swiped at the Dragonfly with her claws from behind using Feint Attack!

"O-ow! H-how did..." The Yanma wondered aloud as it ended up on ground level. It decided to take its tactics to a more evasive approach and used Double Team, making several after images of the Yanma. "Ha! Try and hit me no—" The Yanma was quickly interrupted by another Faint Attack from behind. Pin point accurate thanks to being unable to miss with the move. The Yanma would flop to the ground.

Argus glanced between the two insects. "Am I missing something? Are you actually evil and just not telling me? Rude."

"Gah!... O...ow!...blasted bug...wait... are you..." The Dragonfly looked over to the Nincada. "...Ah!"

"You wanna tell us a good way across this river now? Cause I'm alright with pounding ya some more." Able said, swiping at her own claws.

    "I think you're evil."

"...Just further down the river. A couple Pokemon made a makeshift bridge. A log. Should be easy to cross." It simply said.

    Able
    Level 10 [157/569]

"Thanks! Comon Arby!" Able said, not getting Argus's name right at all.

    "Yeah, she's evil," Argus decided.

Gelius The Sneasel - Bronzong's Guild - Bored

Man i was so bored. But it is better than the Ice Lands. I go look around the guild. Missions... Nope none interested me... Wait a second... Oh... False Alarm.

I kept looking. I saw the rules board and completely ignored. I looked to Snubbul and he gives me a glare. He does hate Sneasels...

I went upstairs. "There is nothing to make that Snubbul have pride of me---" I was interrupted as i ran into a thing. Someone to be precise.

It was a Budew. She seemed new like me. She was shiny. Not the first time i see a Shiny Pokemon. I saw one in Obscure Woods, that is quite near my home, whose was a Beedrill.

"Oh... Sorry for running into you." I said.

  • Blue Sky - Chapter I / Haven - Dai the Totodile

The bag rocking up and down, and gently huffing, Dai was on his path to the village called Haven that the path should lead to. He was walking since a while now the sun disappeard and the moon appeard several times already. At least he had enough food for the journey to Haven, as he tried to get something out of his bag behind him he almost didn't notice a puddle he was about to step in as he quickly avoided it and his look went forward again he could see some sign in the distance and something that looked like buildings. In this moment Dai got very excited and jumped once up from where he was standing, he thought he finally reached the goal of his trip being Haven as he couldn't wait to rush and find out where the guild was located in this place.

The Totodile took his time to check first what was left in his bag as he rather grabbed inside and never really looked to see if there was anything left, and to his shock there really wasn't, his bag was completely empty and he didn't even eat that much on the journey or maybe he did. Luckily he thought he arrived at his destination, not wanting to walk away from the path to get more food as drinking was already anoying to get. He walked over the bridge, it looked very safely build, but the wood responded with a little creek at first as he stepped on it, not minding it he began with a quicker step by now to walk into Haven.

Dai looked around for any information on how to get to the Guild, like signs pointing in the way or just by the buildings he saw, he thought he saw a bigger one nearby and maybe he thought that is the Guild as he walked first at a building that was closer to him, it looked a bit strange, it had a stand in front of it and you couldn't really looked inside from the stand's counter in front "Hello, anybody here?" Dai asked out a bit curiously as something began to move "Oh! Hold on, I am already there" As the part to the house opened and a Klefki came out, the keys of it ringing a little making a quite excited "How may I help you?" The Klefki said out looking over the new customer, it thought standing in front of it. Dai looked once left and right before asking out "I'm interested in joining the Guild but don't know really where it is, could you maybe help me?" Klefki seemed to move like it was nodding before looking past the Totodile "Ah, of course, you see behind you the path? Follow it, the Guild is that big house on the right of that path" Dai turned as he said it, nodding with a smile and looking back "oh, thank you for the help" He said out in a quite polite tone, as he was about to take a step back but then his curiousity striked "Ah, before I go, may I ask what you do in Haven?" The Klefki looked like it was happy it got asked that "I will help you on your journeys, and adventures you have, by helping you unlock chest and boxes, yes that's what I do" Dai nodded once more "oh that sounds very helpful, I keep that in mind" He said before saying his good bye to the Klefki, and running towards the Guild building.

His steps got more and more careful as he arrived at the Guild building, it looked very much like it and by the informations the Klefki gave him, it just has to be it. Dai took a few more steps before going into the building, looking around the room he entered into, he saw a board with notes on it and other Pokémon looking very interested at it. To his side he saw a ladder leading to the next floor so he thought, before he walked up to the front counter still looking at all this new stuff to him. He once pulled his bag closer and positioned his scarf new around his neck before saying out loud "Hey, anybody here?" He put both his hands as best as he could on the front counter before he heard a noise coming from the side, seeing a Snubbul he got a bit shocked out of surprise "Never seen you here, come on say what I can do for you" She said out quick as she went behind the counter checking for something, and Dai was a little stumped as he shaked his head "Ahm I'm interested in joining the Guild as a new explorer" The Snubbul looked back at him "Oh, you are? Thought you just got lost, by the look of it" Dai tried to look a bit more confident after she said that, she was probably right that he didn't look that determined but he really wanted to join "It's fine and all, but you have to work with me and fill this ..." She quickly grabbed something from beneath the countern tapping of her paw could be heard as she laid a piece of paper out in front of the Totodile "... form out" Dai nodded and they worked it over, she looked at him over and over, also pointed her eyes sometimes to his bag in the back, and her eyes showed some curiousity as he said where he came from. After they finished it she put the form back in a box that probably had others in them and she went around "This is always so time taking.. but we're almost done, with this.." She said a bit to the side as she looked through her stuff, before laying out a bag, a gem, and a badge at the counter "That's all yours, your bag there doesn't seem that practical for dungeon exploring, so I just suggest you take our bag instead with you, the gem here got taken from the main crystal in Haven, it will teleport you back then ever you get in a hassle, use it wisely, and the badge here will mark you as explorer of our guild." She said that all out quickly, as Dai listened and he thought that he probably will store the bag for memory purposes away and just put the other bag over at first, put the badge in and the gem too before stepping back and making a polite bow to the Snubbul "Thank you so much, for doing this with me" He said out quickly the Snubbul just nodded and muttered a bit "more like have to do" but smiled back.

With his bag over his old one now Dai was a bit confused to do what next exactly now as he looked around for any help or information that could help or indicate what he had to do next. As he looks quite lost a bit, and eyeing his surrondings quite interested for anything

  • Awakened Arrival
    Enter Hiro the Shiny Eevee

    I...I had that dream again...

It was of that day when Shen took me in. I was scared and alone, when I saw him I felt intimidated by him because at the time I never interacted with an Arcainine. It was raining that day, he took me to his cave to get out of the rain... Thunder began to crash... But I still remember his smile seeing my reactions to the storm, when I told him of why the storm scared me though... His smile turned to a look of sympathy...

Flash forward to the night before I left for haven, he taught me many things:

"Always help those in need," he would always tell me...

But when he was in need against those ghost types... He told me to not interfere... His death once again flashed before me... an unmoving body... the feeling of loneliness turning into sheer sadness... the feeling of breaking into a million bits and blowing into the breeze... A promise to reach Haven and become the best I could be, for Shen...

    Then I woke up...

"See it lives" a smug voice said
"Kricketot you need to really understand that he was poisoned, if our apprentices hadn't found him he could of..." A stern feminine voice said before stopping herself

I looked at the strange duo a Snubull and of course a Kricketot.

"Heh, you are about as much of a worrywart as my brother" the Kricketot statred "I'll be downstairs if you need anything" he finnished as he exited the room.

    "Wh-Where am I" I feebly asked
"The Kricket Inn" she responded "an apprentice of ours found you passed out only a ways from the bridge to Haven"
"Wait Haven" I exclaimed "so I made it"
    "Yes why" the Snubull asked
"Do you know where the Haven Guild is" I excitedly asked
"I happen to be it's secretary" Snubull replied. "I'm guessing you want to apply"
    "Yes" I returned

It was a great feeling finally I was becoming a member of the Haven Guild! Something I had promised to Shen, if only he was still here...

    "Name"
    "Hiro"
    "Speices"
"Uh... Eevee" I didn't understand why she asked that, although it could be because of my silver coat.
"Ok" snubull began "you are now a member of the Haven Guild normally I would provide your badge, treasure bag, and warp crystal but you can come by and pick them up when you come over then you can go up and choose your room on the second floor"
    "Thank you" I said

And thus my days as a member of the Haven Guild began...

  • The long journey? - Haven - Ferius the Treecko

Ferius awoke from his long slumber and climbed out of his little bed. As he stared at the door for a couple seconds, he remembered something. ''Oh that's right! I was gonna join the guild today! Excited and pumped, Ferius ran downstairs to his mom and jumped in her arms. ''Mom! Mom! Do you know what day it is?'' His mother nodded and gave him an oran berry, while packing his bag. ''Be sure not to waste your food Ferius. You have a.... well, let's say not so long road ahead.'' Ferius looked at his mom and questioned why she said that. But he didn't bother with it for too long.

Ferius grabbed his bag, gave his mom a last goodbye kiss and ran out the door. As he walked the grass, he noticed a little butterfly flying around his tail. ''Well hi there little buddy! How are you?'' The butterfly landed on Ferius' nose. Ferius stared at the butterfly and then tried to shoo it away. The butterfly however didn't leave and stayed on his nose. 'Sigh' ''Okay, you can stay i guess. Just don't land on my tail, it still kind of hurts.'' He looked at his tail, The tail had a big bandage around it.

A couple steps further and Ferius noticed a somewhat average sized Totodile jumping in the air. Curiously, Ferius slowly stepped towards him but he tripped and landed in the grass. As soon as he climbed back up, the Totodile was gone. ''Aw man, i could have asked that person if they knew where Haven was.'' Ferius looked around and saw a big sign that said: 'Haven' ''Oh, i guess i was already there. So that's what mom meant with a 'not so long trip'.

As Ferius entered Haven, he saw the Totodile again, this time chatting with a Klefki. He slowly stepped towards them and tried to listen to their conversation. The only thing he could make out of it was 'Guild' and after that the Klefki nodded. ''This must be the place!'' Ferius waited for the Totodile to leave and then entered the building. ''H..He..Hello? Is this the Guild?''

  • Out and About
    The Misunderstanding

I had already gained my items and selected my room in the guild, however I would often times stare at the warp crystal thinking about the many times of usage before I got used to being a member of the Haven guild and my new job as a rescuer and explorer.

I was pulled from my thoughts when a treeko landed on me...

"Annnnnnd stay out" an annoyed Klefki shouted at the treeko, slamming the door to his house.
"What was that about" the treeko thought aloud to himself, "I just asked if it was the guild."
Honestly I didn't think there was someone else who had just reached Haven in search for the guild I was just walking around minding my own buisness (and giving myself a tour of Haven) when this scene unfolded, however Snubull did warn me of that Klefki...

"Heh, you ok" I asked the treeko
"Yeah, although he thew me out when I was asking about the guild" He responded
"That isn't the guild the guild is down the road aways" I said pointing in the direction I was coming from, "you kinda just wondered into Klefki's house and he doesn't take kindly to people entering his place, he thinks everyone is after his key collection or something."
"Oh" the treeko sighed "By the way my name is Ferius"
"Hiro" I replied, and on closer inspection I noticed a large bandage on his tail. "How did you get that?"
"Uh I don't like to talk about it" Ferius replied "What about your bandage" he asked pointing at my front-right leg.

I didn't like talking about it... I was a gift from Shen before that night, he gave it to me as a good luck charm before I left for Haven...

    I didn't answer his question.
"So... thanks again for pointing me in the right direction" Ferius said "I'll be on my way" and with a blink of an eye he rushed off for the guild.

"I-I think I should go back and select my first job" I thought as the memories of Shen began to tear at my heart...

  • Deciding your life start. - Guild - Ferius the Treecko

As Ferius turned his back to the Eevee and rushed to the Guild, he noticed a Snubbull walking back inside. ''H..H.Hey! Wait up!'' The Snubbull turned around and stared at me, almost like she was scanning me. ''Ah, yes yes. You must be Ferius right? Ah yes, your mother told me all about you!'' She shaked my hand and invited me inside. Ferius looked at the interior of the building. There was a counter with some papers on it, and a stairway leading up to a second floor. He also noticed a big door with a sign on it that said 'Off Limits'. Ferius pointed at the door and said ''Ehm, excuse me, but what is in that room?'' The Snubbull looked towards the door and then back to me ''Ah, that's the Guildmaster's room! But there is nothing of importance there for you so lets get a move on!'' The Snubbull leaded me to the counter and gave me a box.

''W..Wait, is that my stuff? How did you know i was gonna apply?'' The Snubbull gave a smirk and showed me a letter. ''I got a letter from your mother! She told me everything about you! Even that you still sleep with a little teddy bea...'' Treecko quickly rushed to the Snubbull and closed her mouth. ''Shh! I don't want anyone to know about that!'' The Snubbull laughed and grabbed another piece of paper. ''I will have to fill in some information so just answer them politely. Okay?''

    "Name?''
    ''Ferius''
    "Species?''
''Treecko.. Wait, why do i have to tell you? Can't you see i'm a treecko!?''

''Sorry, but i can't just fill it in by just looking at you. I need straight answers.'' The Snubbull shoved the box in Ferius' hands. ''Here is your equipment! There is a badge, to show that you are now part of the guild. There is also a treasure bag so you can store your items that you find on your adventures. I also provided you with a warp crystal so that you can easily escape Mystery Dungeons. Alright, that's it, now choose your room on the second floor.'' Ferius grabbed all the stuff and put it in his bag. He then jumped upstairs and landed perfectly on his feet. ''Ha! Who needs stairs when you can jump and climb. Alright now lets see... oh, this room seems to be available!'' Ferius went into the room and put his stuff down. After a little rest, he went downstairs and looked at the BulletinBoard. ''So these are my missions? Hmm, it says that some are already reserved... wait someone found a strange box that looks like a coffin? Cool! I will definitly check that out!''

  • First Day
    A Motherly Request

The bulletin board was a massive thing to something as small as me, an Eevee. Normally plastered all over the board would be every mission that was available that day, however most of the missions were taken...

However I noticed the treeko from earlier and he had a notice from the board, must be taking on his first mission. However he had a familiar look on his face. I should know it was nervousness something I had when I first met... Anyways I was looking at the remaining set-up of missions I could take when I was asked...

"Could you go with him" asked Snubull
"Huh, why" I asked, then I remembered that accident from earlier. I knew it was his first day because he had wondered where the guild was, then again it was my first day too.

"Well his mom sent me a letter explaining to me about him, and she also asked me to keep him safe" Snubull whispered "you see when he was young he had been trapped in a cave and was rescued by three members of our guild at the time, you may know them as team ACT now"

Team ACT, they were a gold rank rescue team that most pokemon have heard of, Shen told me stories of their adventures, and it was because of those stories I became a bit of an adventurer at heart. Anyway the group consisted of a Alakazam, a Charizard, and a Tyranitar and each one of them were strong rescuers and most rescue teams looked up to them and as a rescuer myself, so did I.

"His mom worries about him and if something happens to him his mother will be on me about it for quite awhile" Snubull continued "I want you to go with him to make sure he stays safe"

I looked over at the treeko, Ferius, I believe his name was, did look strong to me, but then I looked at his bandage. Did he get that from the incident mentioned?

"Ok I'll do it" I answered back
"Thanks but don't let him know why you are coming along" Snubull said "keep it a secret"
"My lips are sealed" I said "Just to ask what mission did he choose"
"He chose to investigate a mysterious coffin-like box in Stone Grotto" Snubull answered

Coffin-like box... That means ghost-types... Oh boy...

  • 「Mummies?!」
I was exploring the Stone Grotto and found this box that looks like a coffin! Please investigate!
    Client: Donphan
    Dungeon: Stone Grotto
Reward: 600 Poké + Luminous Orb
Team: Hiro (Shiny Eevee) lvl 10, Ferius (Treeko) lvl 10

    *Hiro's Perspective*

Honestly I didn't mind travel, however Ferius was pretty tired when we reached our destination...

    "Uh you ok" I asked
"Yeah, I just never traveled this far before" Ferius said
"You'll get used to it" I said

Stone Grotto I heard of this place although knowing of the many ghost types I was a bit on edge about it... Shen was killed by a Gengar, a ghost type, and I didn't really like the thought of many ghost types I could never trust one fully, after that day...

"So where is this so-called coffin" I asked
"He said he found it on B3F" Ferius replied, he had already talked to the client before I joined him on his adventure, and that was fine by me.

After we entered the cave I noticed that there were some dim lights everywhere I had heard that the guild put them up to help guide explorers though the caves, Understandably I couldn't figure that they would be reliable since they probably hadn't covered all of stone grotto with them...

"So you never answered my question earlier" Ferius began to say
    "What question" I asked
"About your bandage" Ferius pointed out

I realized he was trying to start a conversation, was he trying to become my friend, no I couldn't allow it if I did and something happend to him... then there would be two pokemon on my conscience, and I'm mostly here on Snubull's request to keep him safe.

"Its too painful to recount" I said
"Really why did you injure yourself" Ferius said
"No, just... drop the subject please" I pleaded, my thoughts turning to that night I needed to keep my composure if I broke down here... all those pokemon will know were here and attack.

"Well, Well" a rough voice began "What do we have here an eevee and a treeko"

And before us was a geodude ready for his attack...

    *Ferius's Perspective*

I didn't hestitate for a second and used Absorb on the Geodude.
''Ha! Take that you meanie!'' I said
The Geodude dashed towards me in an attempt to tackle
''Come here you little brat!'' He shouted

Fortunately Hiro tried to push me out of the way and took the hit. I ran towards Hiro and helped him get up.
''Are you alright Hiro? Did it hurt a lot?'' I asked.

Hiro shook himself from Ferius and used Baby Doll Eyes on the Geodude.
''Aw, you look like such an innocent Eevee.'' I said
Hiro hinted towards geodude with a nod. ''Now Ferius!'' he said
Ferius sprinted towards him and used Absorb again. This time ending the battle.

Hiro gained 155 exp, Ferius gained 155 exp

I walked over to the place the Geodude once was. ''Wait, what happened? Where did he go? And why is there an Oran berry in the place?'' I asked
Hiro walked past me and shook his head. ''Just pick it up and move on. The stairs are right there.''

    Ferius obtained Oran Berry

And together we walked down the stairs to B2F.

''Wh..What is that on the floor?'' I asked pointed towards a big blue orb on the floor.
Hiro took a closer look and picked it up. ''Seems like a Petrify Orb. That might become usefull later on.''

    Hiro obtained Petrify Orb

I walked towards a long hallway and peeked inside the dark corridor. ''I can barely see anything in here. Why is it so dark?'' I questioned

That was when I was jumped on from behind.

    ''Boo!'' Hiro exclaimed

I shook him off and looked at Hiro with a shocked face. ''Please never do that again! That scared the life out of me!'' I angrily told him

Hiro smiled a little and then looked at the ground ''Sorry, I won't do it again, that was kind of an ass move'' He said "By the way that's for implying I'm cute earlier, and don't tell anyone I have that move" He said

    I promised...

Me and Hiro walked for a couple minutes to find the next staircase until we were stopped by a dark figure in the air.

''Hehehe, what are you two doing out here so lonely. Shouldn't you two be sleeping already? Here, let me help.'' The mysterious pokemon drifted towards us and used Hypnosis on Hiro.

    *Hiro's Perspective*

Back in the sanctity of sleep... but this time I had visitors.

"Hiro" Ferius called, as he ran up to me "You're in my dream, too"
"What this is my dream" I said
"Correct" the mysterious pokemon said his voice coming from behind us.

We turned around and we both saw him, a shuppet.

"My, My" the shuppet began, "a secret is in this one's heart" he continued, gesturing towards me.
"So" I said with a twinge of anger in my voice "aren't we entitled to that type of thing"

"Perhaps" the shuppet said "but I'm the self-proclaimed keeper of secrets, and I believe your secret is one to be told" He looked to Ferius, "Well little treeko you are in for quite the sad story, you wished to know what his story was, and now you will know" and with that he vanished.

And the dream changed to a familiar sight, a clearing... during a stormy night.

    "Wh-Where are we" Ferius asked
"Sunset Clearing, its... where I'm from" I replied

That's when Ferius noticed a small shiny eevee looking as if he was only lvl 4 at the time...
    "Is that..." he began "...you"

    I nodded...

Then we noticed an Arcainine show up, notice the young eevee and started talking with him, he offered his home to the young eevee, the eevee nodded and and the arcanine took him home with him...

    "Who was that" Ferius asked
    "Shen" I replied

The scene changed showing Shen giving me a green cloth... "A mark of a hero, for luck" he said. Ferius took the time to glance at me looking at the green cloth on my front right leg.

Then the final scene change, it showed Shen fighting three ghost types, a gengar, and two ghastlys. It shifted to showing me only lvl 7 at the time trying to get the arcanine up in vain, the tears flooding my eyes.

The young eevee gave up... and the dream ended...

  • To a safe Haven!

Good luck, be careful, have fun, and make new friends! The departing words of her proud but worried family echoed through her head as she spotted the gates of the cozy village of Haven up ahead. "Alright, Ashes....you've got this!" The Torchic assured herself before taking a running head-start into the village, only to find herself exhausted from her two-day-long trek from the Summer Fields, her birthplace. "Oh, man....I'm bushed...." She sighed as she tiredly walked towards the Kricket Inn, eager to rest her aching feet, only to find that they weren't opening yet; it was much too early. "Oh, well...." She sighed in defeat before plucking the last of her Oran berries from her berry pouch, rendering it empty. Wait! Silly Ashes! There's no time to rest! I have to sign up to be an Explorer! Time waits for nobody, especially not me! The Torchic scolded herself before picking herself up from the ground and sped towards the HQ with newfound fervor, her blue ribbon nearly undoing itself in her haste to reach the building in a timely manner.

Once she reached the door to the Guild Headquarters, she saw all sorts of different pokemon bustling in and out through different doors, many of them crowding a desk that held an attentive yet stern-looking Snubbull behind it, who happened to be talking to a rather excited Treecko, who soon raced out with....An Explorer Badge! That Snubbull, he can give it to me! Ashes thought excitedly as she raced over to the desk, only to trip, stumble, and fall on her face. "Ow...I-I'm sorry....Um, I'm here to sign up to be an Explorer....?" She requested timidly, embarrassed at her little spill in front of an authority figure(in her view, at least). "Oh! Well, very well, then. Have you any experience in helping other Pokemon?" The Snubbull asked of Ashes as she responded with her countless occasions in aiding her elder sister in her makeshift hospital. "Ah, yes; I remember her first day here! Quite the stubborn one, she was. Anyways, I see you're following in her footsteps. Very well, then; here is your Explorer Bag, your Shard, and your Badge. The bulletin board where we post missions is right over there. I truly wish you the best of luck, miss...?" The Snubbull secretary asked as Ashes introduced herself in a slightly timid manner before accepting her gear with a barely-concealed glee.

When she turned to leave, she spotted a large board tacked with announcements; missions for Explorers, perhaps? One Pokemon, however, was also there, gear at its side: a Sneasel."E-Erm.....hello? Is this your first day here?" She asked as she tapped him on the shoulder with one wing, wondering if he had any experience with being an Explorer.

  • Entering Haven!
    Current Location: Test Ship
    ________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The sea is calm... The wind is blowing... All is nice. The to-be-explorer Cast is enjoying the cold breeze of the ocean, he sat down imagining what the place called "Haven" would look like. He stood and walked up to one of the sailors with him and asked, "Excuse me sir, but how long until we get to the land?". "Some more hours, but don't worry, we'll get there in day" he replied.

Cast let out a sigh and went to one of the ship's edges, "Falling into the ocean would get me all wet... Not to mention, I can't swim" he said as he shuddered. He opened his bag and checked to see if the berries he brought were fine, unfortunately one of the pecha berry fell as Cast desperately tried to save it. It fell into the ocean and Cast let out another sigh. He went back to his old position and felt the breeze one more time.

He looked at the ocean again to waste time and noticed something strange, the water was a bit bubbly, he looked closer... A red eyes appeared underwater and surprised him, one of the sailors shouted as well. "There wasn't supposed to be any wild pokemons...!", the pokemon revealed themselves as a gang of Sharpedo and proceeded to attack the ship. The sailors tried to fight back, but they couldn't handle their numbers, Cast was at a disadvantage at type and strength and was forced to watch the boat get wrecked.

The ship began to rumble and sink, the pokemon on board were losing their balance, Cast had to do something... Something that could buy them time. One of the sailors was a Grass-Type, and one was a Water-Type, Cast thought of doing the unthinkable. He gathered the sailors and told him of his plan, it was the only choice they had.

Cast let out a black smoke from his mouth and bought them time to execute the plan, the sailors were in position and he was ready for it. One of the nearby sailor created a beam of light that made the sun more brighter. The first sailor shot a beam into the air, the second sailor shot out a strong wave of water alongside the first sailor's beam. Cast charged at the location of the beam whilst he cloaked himself with fire, he leaped into it and shouted, "More power!".

A large blast blew the ship, the Sharpedo, the sailors, and Cast away. Cast turned unconscious as his vision faded.

After a few hours, Cast was regaining consciousness, he opened his eyes a bit as he regains his vision back. He stood up and looked at his bag and scarf, they were both fine, he looked at the damage that he received and ate one of the Oran Berries. He stood up and looked at his surroundings, he was near a river was the only thing he could find. He walked into the river and washed his face, he tried to think... Until he thought to himself. "Wait... Who am I? Where am I?". It looked like Cast was having a bit of a memory lost, his memory was a bit scattered and he couldn't remember straight.

The only thing he could remember was; Haven and the Guild. He noticed something in the ground near him, a map of some sort. He grabbed it and examined it, a few minutes later after finding out that it was a ripped map, he identified his area to be 'River Belle Path', he followed the map and went to the place that looked like civilization.

Upon reaching a bridge, Cast identified the area he is now in as the place 'Haven'. He put the map into his bag and continued his way into the place. He first noticed a kind-of-tall building, he approached it and knocked on the door. "WHO IS IT?" a large shout came from inside, "Um... A visitor?" Cast said. The door opened and a small pink-colored pokemon appeared, "What have you come here for?" she said, " AND YOU BETTER NOT BE A SALESMAN, ADVERTISER OR ANY OF THE SORTS BECAUSE WE DO NOT WANT ANY OF YOUR SUPPLIES" she added as she shut the door down. "I... Just have one question" Cast said. The door opened again and the pokemon replied with, "Just make it quick, I have too many things to do". Cast then asked, "Where is the guild's location?". The pokemon laughed a bit and said "Guild? Your at it right now!".

Cast didn't notice the Bulletin Board often used by the guild. "Um... Where do I apply as an explorer?" he asked, "You mean where to register? Your talking to the secretary right now". Cast cringed a bit, "T-This little pink fella is a guild secretary...?" he thought to himself. The pokemon groaned, and looked at Cast with burning eyes, "So um... Can I register now?" Cast said. The pokemon nodded and asked Cast to follow him inside.

They arrived at the Guild Office, "Gotta waste no time, now here, accept this as a gift from the guild" the pokemon said as he presented a bag. Cast happily accepted it and opened the bag, he saw two more items inside, a Badge and a Warp Crystal. "Oh, and by the way, my name is Snubbull" she added.

Cast exited the Guild Office and went straight to the bulletin board, he didn't see any possible request that he could complete. Instead, he navigated the town to find more information about the land and the town.
