Easy--
I name them all the opposite type of their own, which usually messes up my opponents.
For example, Infernape would be named Rock and Onix would be named Water.

In Pearl, I've been intentionally giving all my Pokémon dorky names. My Darkrai is named Nigel. ...I know, it's not brilliant, but there's something to be said for being able to get away with calling the most powerful Dark-type in the series "Nigel".

In Emerald, I like to do double battles with my Wheezing and Camerupt, named Laurel and Hardy.
