PMD: Exploration and Corruption of the New Frontier (IC)(PG-13)

"You rang?" Maria replied his question. Teddius was relieved, these Ninjasks were dangerous and they were probably lucky that there were not many of them. "Oh gosh, that was a mayhem." The bear remarked, heaving a brief sigh or relief.

Bruno and the Loudred had finished off the other critters with more ease than the 2 of them. "Ok then, better move on before anymore comes on us." The Hariyama said as he brushed his forehead with sweat. The escort squad trekked their way around the safe parts of the forested area. Everyone did their best to avoid all suspicious actitvty near the springs.

Along the way, the little bear's tummy rumbled. He blushed hoping that no one else had heard it. Teddius started to feel the pangs of hunger gnawing at his stomach walls. He reached into his pouch and opened up a jar of honey. Taking several slurps, he walked and licked his honey-soaked paws. Then, he picked up a wiff of honey wafting from the trees off the beaten path they were taking. Mumbling something incoherent which actually meant "Be back in a while.", Teddius scurried to look for that source of honey. He found a seemingly abandoned Beedrill hive loaded with tons of honey and nectar. He dipped his paws in the hexagonal structure and scooped out gallons of the honey. Every 3 to 4 scoops, he ingested half of the honey in his furry paws. After gathering almost 80% of the hive, he decided that it was ample enough and continued to join with the others.

All of a sudden, 3 pairs of menacing red eyes flashed out from above him and Maria. A strong angry buzzing of wings sounded and from the canopy, emerged the owners of the eyes- 3 obviously enraged Beedrills. But that was far from over, these Beedrills were also corrupted with dark shades of colour on their bodies. The first Beedrill, probably the leader, charged forward with both its needles glowing. Teddius dodge it as it dove down. The other Beedrills also started attacking those nearby, Bruno, Maria and Loudred. The Beedrills stabbed him with a Poison Sting and Teddius returned it with a gross Lick. The Beedrill then furiously poked him numerous times. He slashed the hornet with his paws and then jumped backwards in order to evade a Twineedle. The Beedrill then injected venom from its needles into his body and Teddius felt woozy. The toxic slowly and painfully sapped his life out. The Beedrill stabbed him with its two needles. Teddius used Facade which had saved him many times. His body shone in a golden aura as he tackled the Beedrill and it was crushed to the floor, beaten.

"yeah what is it Alaska?" Zeke said looking to her.

he was still mulling over the idea of letting the other team use his tent. He could try and finish the cabin, but that would take to long.

Specter stood outside wary of the sableye. he didn't trust him one bit. he knew that he was a dirty coniving rat, but he didn't know how to prove it. Specter walked over to the sableye. he stared down the shorter pokemon.

"if you want to take our team to the guild then you better get permission from Zeke." Specter growled.

Zeke sensed Specter's displeasure. He walked out of the tent and saw the two on the brink of battling.

"oh crap not now. I'm not sure what'll happen if Specter fights alone. He never fought alone." Zeke grumbled so that only Alaska and Leigh would hear if they were listening.

Retus eventually jumped up to his feet after that last ice punch. "Gotta love the violent types" He thought to himself. Xell was still there and it annoyed Retus a bit. Before he had a chance to make a witty retort, A blue scyther flew over to Retus' direction with a serious look on its face. He had mentioned a pokemon by the name of Zeke being their leader. "Fair enough I suppose" He replied. "But sheesh, Ya didn't have to ask in such an angry fashion buddy". Retus had an odd feeling this Scyther didn't like him. As much as he'd like to let him know his place, This wasn't the time or place for that.

"Weelll guess I'll go ask your leader then eh? Nobody has refused my services. I'm just that good." He bragged as he patted the blue Scyther's back and walked over to the tent. Retus's eyes glowed a bright white color.

"Yeah, what is it Alaska?" Zeke asked, looking at her. "We have an… an escort," she said, looking back at Retus. Specter stood outside staring him down. "If you want to take our team to the guild then you better get permission from Zeke," Specter growled at Retus. Alaska continued to stare at them for a moment before looking back at Zeke, who walked out of the tent.

"Fair enough I suppose," Retus replied to Specter. "But sheesh, Ya didn't have to ask in such an angry fashion buddy." Zeke saw Specter at the brink of fighting Retus. "Oh crap not now. I'm not sure what'll happen if Specter fights alone. He never fought alone," he grumbled. "Weelll guess I'll go ask your leader then eh? Nobody has refused my services. I'm just that good," Retus bragged as he patted the blue Scyther's back and walked over to the tent. Retus's eyes glowed a bright white color. Alaska stared at him warily, which is not usual for her. She had a really bad feeling about this Sableye. If only they hadn't missed Bruno. Alaska wondered about his eyes. Was he using an attack? She couldn't tell. Even though she thought of Zeke as somewhat of a jerk, she stayed alert to attack this newcomer if he tried anything on her leader.

Felicia watched the Sableye warily she hadn't been noticed yet and was unable to follow the conversation due to not being able to see his face, but from the look of things this Sableye whatever his name was hadn't made a good first impression to Alaska. Should I go up and talk to him she thought still looking at him before deciding to just wait til she was noticed and resumed sitting peacefully in the sunlight.

"alright who are you. I'm not letting my team go with you until I know i can trust you." Zeke stared at the sableye unsure of how to feel.

Specter was going out of his mind. the sabaleye just patted him on his head. Specter was jumping up and down with anger. Zeke just kept his gaze on the sableye.

Leigh had overheard the conversation about the new escort. That sableye? An escort? What that guy going to do to protect such a large group? He was starting to think that if the six of them went to the guild together, They could still be fine. Still, Leigh decided to give him the Benefit of the doubt. At least he wouldn't have to stay around. But rather or not his own team follows the sly pokemon was up to Felicia. He was sure that she would want to hear this. "I'll be back" Leigh said as he floated out of the tent and toward Felecia. Along the way he noticed that the sableye had been walking toward the tent after an encounter with Specter. Hoping they would get along, "Hey Felicia, See that sableye over there? Turns out we might have found a new escort. What do ya think? Wanna tag along with him? He's a bit shady though..." Leigh asked her.

As Retus was walking towards the tent, A green scyther had asked just who he was. "Why does everyone deem us sableye suspicious? It's the cracked eye isn't it?" He said sarcastically. "I'm just going to discuss just what I'm willing to offer to your leader. Quit being so spineless". Retus purposely taunted the scyther with this comment. He turned around and stared at the blue Scyther predicting he might lose it. His eyes continued to glow brightly incase he tried anything funny. (He's using detect)

"Hey Felicia, See that sableye over there? Turns out we might have found a new escort. What do ya think? Wanna tag along with him? He's a bit shady though..." Leigh asked her as he floated up to her.

"He does seem shady...I say we tag along but keep an eye on him and if worse comes to pass we leave him and continue on our own" Felicia answered after a few moments of thinking. After she spoke she looked back toward the Sableye thinking I hope I made the right choice

"Hm?" Flare asked, snapping out of yet, another little trance and looked over at his Team Mates. "What's going on, what did I miss?"

Xell followed the "escort" after Alaska Ice Punched him. Xell was actually surprised that the Sableye was so relentless. Won't take no for an answer? Xell thought. Xell was watching everything that was happening, but chose to stay silent and observe. "Why does everyone deem us Sableye suspicious? It's the cracked eye, isn't it?" He said sarcastically. "I'm just going to discuss just what I'm willing to offer to your leader. Quit being so spineless."

Because he had said that, Xell concluded several things. One: the Sableye knew that Xell, and perhaps others (and Alaska, definitely) thought the mysterious Sableye suspicious. This showed he was fairly street-smart. Two: the Sableye knew that Zeke was spineless, as in, having no spine whatsoever. Was he perhaps trying to irk Zeke? No, he needed our support. He also was Pokemon-smart. He knew his stuff about Pokemon typing. Three: his eyes were glowing differently. Is that Detect? Xell knew the move: his father, a well-renowned Aggron, happened to be on a team with a Sceptile who had used it once or twice while Xell was around. The move caused the Sceptile's normally yellow, lizard-like eyes to glow blue.

Although all of these fantastic conclusions were unraveling in Xell's head, Xell chose to stay silent and watch.

After stareing down Specter a bit, Retus's eyes went back to their blue glow. "Glad we understand eachother." He told him. "If you excuse me, I'll be talking with your leader." As he turned around, Retus gave Xell a sharp glare before walking toward the tent. They were all sharp, but so far, Each of the pokemon seemed to trust sableye enough. He had hoped that the two teams that he had seen along the way had been finished off by the team he was finished Negotiating with this Zeke fellow. He walked in front of zeke, Both hands behind his back, And looked up at him with a large smile.

"Zeke, Correct? Your twin over there told me to talk with you. Give the guy a chill pill will ya? So rude." He told Zeke sarcastically. His voice suddenly became more serious.

"The names Retus. I'm a traveller who is willing to offer my services to fellow exploration teams. From what I've noticed, You missed the escort to the guild Correct? Seeing as how your the leader, I think it would be best to get your permission first... Whaddaya say?" Retus's eyes continued to glow a bright blue color as he waited for a response.

(Gah I confused Zeke with Specter in my last post. Sorry about that XD I just now realized that. Sheesh I gotta start taking some time to read through these :/)

Leigh saw as the Sableye had begun talking with Zeke about his escort services. Feleicia seemed alright with it. Maybe Retus wasn't such a bad guy. He seemed to have alot of knowledge and acceptable skill. Leigh decided to give him the benefit of the doubt as he sat down next to Felecia. "Guess we'll talk with him after Zeke is finished eh?"

"Why does everyone deem us Sableye suspicious? It's the cracked eye isn't it?" Retus told Specter sarcastically. "I'm just going to discuss just what I'm willing to offer to your leader. Quit being so spineless." He stared down Specter and his eyes returned to glowing blue. "Glad we understand each other," he told him. "If you excuse me, I'll be talking with your leader." He gave Xell a sharp glare and walked over to Zeke. Xell followed behind him quietly.

His voice suddenly became more serious."The names Retus," he started to say, and Alaska interrupted with a cough. "I'm a traveler who is willing to offer my services to fellow exploration teams. Retus's eyes continued to glow a bright blue color as he waited for a response.

Alaska looked at Zeke, wondering what he would say. She wanted to trust Retus would escort them, but she had the urge to demolish him before he could do anything. That would not work. Most likely, everyone else would turn their fingers around and point them at Alaska instead of this mysterious stranger. Alaska answered the question even though it was not for her. "I think you should prove yourself somehow," she said seriously, but could not contain the grin that spread across her face.

Alaska had replied to the question rather then Zeke. She wanted Retus to prove himself, To see if he was really as good of an escort as he had said. Retus observed Alaska a bit before giving an answer. He walked over to Alaska and leaned forward so that his face was in front of hers. "Prove myself you say? And how do you suppose I do that?" He asked, Again giving a very large grin to Alaska. Was this a challange? Sounded interesting to him. He wasn't interested in harming anybody just yet but this was a good chance to show off to everyone.

Felicia nodded "Yeah, before we go I'd like to talk to him...how much do you wanna bet he won't believe the youngest is the leader of the team" she said with a smile looking at her teammates. She was still a little wary of trusting him but if he could guide them to where they needed to go then that was fine. But if he starts any trouble Felicia planned on getting her team out of there.

Retus walked over to Alaska and put his face in front of hers. Alaska laughed at how her move from before rubbed off on him. "Prove myself you say? And how do you suppose I do that?" asked Retus, grinning big. "I want to battle you," she replied, imitating what Retus had done before and put her arm around his neck. She said in his ear, "Should be fun." She held him in a choke hold. He didn't have a weakness, so Alaska would just have to try and do her best. Although, she kind of knew he would win and end up proving himself. Only Arceus knew how things would happen.

Leigh laughed at Felecia's reply. She probobly would have a hard time talking with this Sableye fellow. He continued to observe the conversation. Alaska had put her arm around Sableye and whispered something in his ear. A serious look was all over her face. Were they going to battle? Leigh was interested about what this guy was capable of. Finally, He replied to Felecia. "Well, If he gives you trouble, I got your back. If ya need help understanding someone's words I'll gladly help you." Leigh said cheerfully, lightly bumping into her. It was the closest thing Leigh had to a handshake, he thought.

It was a challange. Alaska had wanted to battle Retus. The Large grin on Retus's face suddenly went away and his eyes had begun to glimmer as she had put her own arm around Retus's neck. Except this time, She held him in a choke hold. "Should be fun" Alaska whispered in his ear. "Ack... Keheh... A battle you say? While I'm not interested in harming that pretty face of yours, I guess a quick battle would work out just fine." Retus said as he put his arm around Alaska's waist and lightly pulled her against the side of his own. Retus began to look at her with a bright white glimmer in his working eye as his Large grin had returned.

"Don't expect me to hold back though. I wouldn't dare disrespect a lady that way." Retus whispered back into her own ear.

"I'm... *cough* fine..." Chunk struggled to say as Layne finished up the other Ariados in a flurry of moves before running over to him. The other Ariados had apparently not been affected much by the waters, which was just the news Chunk wanted to receive. They were down to two Ariados, and all four of them were tired - the end was most likely near. "We gotta... *cough* take them down all at once..."

But he would still need an idea for that; Chunk lacked the strength to launch electric moves like Thundershock or Shock Wave, but perfectly handled Spark and Thunder Fang; and the former would probably be the best solution.

"How fast can you throw Water Pulse?" Chunk quickly asked, stepping away from Layne while standing in front of him while starting to charge his body with electricity for Spark.

Layne sighed as his partner stirred and sat down. Finally he could take a small breather. Right now, the guild sounded like a paradise. Layne almost was tempted to go into the springs had it not been for the dead land reminding him that the springs was not a safe place to relax. His eyes closed briefly, before he heard noise.

He groaned, and forced himself to sit up. The other two Ariados, which he thought he had knocked down for the count, were stirring and coming in slowly but surely for the attack.

"We gotta... take them down all at once..."

Layne didn't know if that was really at all possible anymore. These corrupt pokemon.......just weren't normal. By now, these Ariados, if normal, would not be stupid enough to get up and attack, or get up at all. But before Layne could speak, Chunk stood up and began charging his body, and said, "How fast can you throw Water Pulse?"

Layne shrugged and stood up. "Reasonably fast. It just depends on how long I hold it, or if I have the energy at all."

 

[D. Lawride]

He was quick to decide what to do: Charge, Quick attack, Spark, and possibly Thunder Fang; these four moves, properly chained together, would most likely knock the two opponents left.

"Then do it!" Chunk yelled as soon as Layne replied; the Shinx quickly erupted into sparks and dashed away, hoping Layne would properly time the move so he could jump through it.

(OOC: I'll let you take control of how the moves are performed since you'll need to throw the Water Pulse.)

Felicia grinned as Leigh said that "Thanks Leigh. I'm really glad I've made good friends" she replied happily before turning to look toward where Alaska and the Sableye where looking like they were about to battle "I hope she wins" Felicia said still happy her six tails wagging slightly.
