    Name: Ariadne Callurn
    Age: 14
Pokéma: Sneasel. Markings are two small, black stripes on top of each hand. When the Pokéma manifests, claws like Sneasel's replace Ariadne's thumbs and fingers. Two thick claws on each hand, about as long as Ariadne's forearms. The claws also bring some of the Ice powers that a Sneasel possesses (if this is allowed, like Ice Claw-ish).

The back of her left ear also has a mark on it, looking like a triangle. From it, a pink feather resembling Sneasel's emerges and replaces most of her ear, when her Pokéma activates. This somehow activates some Dark powers that Sneasel has. (again, if it's allowed, I don't really know how it works in +Anima :3 )

    Personality:
Ariadne comes across as gleeful and selfish. She does everything she can to serve herself the best, and stay alive with as good results as possible. In some moments though, her blissful past on the countryside of Celadon shines through and drives her into deep thought and sorrow. Part of her knows she might be wrong about her family (read history for this to make sense) but part of her doesn't want to find out. She is angry with authorities of all kinds and takes every opportunity she gets to mess up things for them. Her sense of humor is the sarcastic one, and she always wants to seem strong, even though her figure is pretty petite.

When meeting new people, Ariadne usually tries to give them the impression that she is a person with things under control, flashing them a smile where her mouth is happy but her eyes piercing. She doesn't meet new people very often though, as there are few people in Kanto who can stand her for what she are. She relies on them to get her jobs, although they sometimes don't pay her when it's done, just to mock her. That's why, some months ago, she started to steal things even more, rather than try to earn them. She gets a thrill and a confidence boost every time she successfully steals something nice. She care's more and more for shiny things like jewelry, feeling cool when she manages to steal something from especially pompous ladies or gentlemen. (Teheh, Sneasel's ability "Pick-pocket")

History: Growing up on the countryside of Celadon was a wonderful thing. Ariadne was the smallest sibling of five and loved to play outdoors more than anything. Her mother and father were farmers, her father being crazy with new technologies that could improve their operations and her mother being more traditional, always falling back on using pokémon for farming work the old way. A couple of Ariadne's older siblings tried to become pokémon trainers and the youngsters watched in awe as they brought home wondrous creatures.

Then pokémon training was banned. Ariadne's siblings tried to hide their pokémon, but were busted. The oldest of them fought the police off and fled. The atmosphere in the family became a bit strange after that. Ariadne's mother became even more intent on using pokémon for farming work, and the father gave up his raving about new technologies. No more siblings tried to befriend pokémon. One other who had been a pokémon trainer left Celadon's countryside to search for the oldest one. Ariadne was sad to see them go, and started to dislike the police and authorities for destroying their happy family.

Then the fateful day came when Ariadne and her brother, being only one year older than her, snuck out to play in the forest. Ariadne had just turned 12, some days previous. They wanted to find pokémon, and finally found some bird and plant ones. But the pokémon were a bit scared of the human kids, maybe because the farmers usually tried to chase the wild pokémon off their lands for eating their crops. Ariadne got too wild trying to get close to them... and suddenly an unusual pokémon emerged from the bushes with a leap. A Sneasel, who had been watching the kids and didn't like what he saw. He decided to teach them a lesson, and jumped straight at Ariadne's brother. He was scratched badly. Ariadne's mind turned blazingly red; not a trace of fear was there. She threw a rock at the Sneasel's head and hit. The Sneasel turned around and went straight for her instead. This time with the intent to really harm the human. A tint of fear struck Ariadne somewhere within, and spread through her body as her mind saw in slow motion how the dark weasel pokémon flew towards her. This was bad. Worse than a pickle.

The next moment she could remember... she never had an easy time remembering this event correctly... the Sneasel was moaning loudly, limping back into the forest, and her brother was staring at her with eyes wider than ever. She had brushed the hair away from her forehead, felt something weird sticking up from her ear... and realized that what she brushed her head with wasn't fingers. She had grown big claws.

However happy the family once had been, and however likely it was that her parents and siblings may have accepted this before the events with the training ban... there was no chance now. Ariadne knew what she had become. She had heard the tales but hadn't believed them. She was terrified. Without even uttering a single last word to her brother, she got up and ran. She ran into Celadon, swearing never to return to her family's farm and prove that her brother's claims were true when he told her parents that Ariadne was a +Pokéma. And the rest of her history, these past two years.. it has all been about hiding in the slums or forests, stealing money and food, doing some dirty work when she managed to hide the markings on her hands and... trying to stay alive. She used to hate every moment of it, but since she began getting better at sneaking and thieving, she feels rather good about it all. At least, that what she tells herself.

She has never met another +Pokéma and doesn't really think about what it would be like to meet one.

Appearance: Ariadne is rather small, but not tiny, as her length is just below average. She is thin, having nearly no subcutaneous compared to most girls. Her skin is pretty pale, almost white. Her eyes are slanted, with naturally big eyelashes. Her nose is small and her mouth is too, apart from when she is laughing loudly; then almost all her upper teeth shows, and some of the lower ones. Ariadne keeps her hair either hanging loose or in a loose knot with some loose strands. When let out, the hair reaches down to her chest, black like the night and almost shining in a blueish way.

For clothing, she usually wears a cape with a mantle over everything. This is so that she can easily conceal her hands and ear when necessary, even though the mark on her ear isn't really easily visible. The cape and mantle are dark gray. She also wears a purple vest, buttoned in the front, on top of a black tunic. A belt, just below where the vest ends, holds a little gray bag where she keeps important things. On her legs, she usually wears black leggings, and on her feet, she wears the same canvas shoes as she had when she ran from the forest two years ago. They are pretty worn out by now and haven't got anything left of their former white color. She... really needs new shoes. She wears some golden jewelry in her ears when she can, and wants to pierce her tongue or navel as well... but who would want to pierce a +Pokéma with anything else but a spear?

RP Sample: (from a soon-to-come post in Johto's New League)
Maya had been sleeping for hours on that backpack. Luckily for her, the pokémon didn't run away. Clown did disappear for a while, leaving Balloon anxious and Parade seething, but he soon reemerged from the woods, carrying several sorts of berries. He pressed them against his body with his tail, in order to carry them. Clown gave most of the berries to Balloon, but after a while he also let Parade have some. Parade was very pleased, but he surely didn't show it.

When Maya woke up, it was dark. She checked her watch to see that it was about 4 AM. The heck?!? Rushing up, she retreated her sleeping pokémon into their pokéballs without them noticing, and picked up her stuff, leaving the camp. She felt a teeny bit frightened walking alone in this kind of darkness and hoped the sun would go up soon. It did.

As the first rays or morning sun hit her nose and made her sneeze, she saw the edge of Violet City before her. Nobody was up yet, as the streets were very empty and quiet. Calm, even. This town was very different from Goldenrod. No machines were bustling around, building things or transporting things. No stressed parents with whining kids going from shop to shop. This city was boring, in Maya's eyes, but still... she liked it. But then again, it was, like 6 AM and it would maybe get more crowded later on.

She made her way to a pokémon center and was relieved to see it was open. Maybe it was open 24/7? For trainers who dropped in in the middle of the night, like she almost did.

The nurse took care of her pokémon while she got some breakfast from the cafeteria. When she came back, she took out her team from their pokéballs. Clown was awake and nodded at her when he came out, but the other two blinked confusingly. Where were they? Oh right, a pokémon center.

"Hey guys," Maya said and yawned. "That was a weird night."

    Parade snarled slightly. Indeed.

"But now we're in a new town. I've never been here before. Violet..." she looked out through the glass door of the pokémon center. The town was starting to come alive. "Let's check it out. Maybe there are some nice stores here. It doesn't look like the war struck Violet very much."

Good for them, her mind added. Violet probably hadn't been a very important place for neither Johto to keep or Kanto to grab.

Clown nudged her leg. He wanted back inside his pokéball. Maya obliged and let the red beam minimize him and then put the pokéball into its place on her belt. Balloon took her place on Maya's head and Parade smiled (happy that Clown wasn't out in the open anymore?) and made clear that he intended to follow Maya by foot. "Right!" Maya said and went outside.

As she looked around a bit more closely, something immediately peeked her interest. A tall tower standing at the edge of town. Cool, she thought, and then noticed how Parade seemed amazed by it. Weird little fellow... must be the purple color of the roof. She followed him as he walked closer to the tower. It was a great pagoda, most likely the crown jewel of the town, as the other buildings didn't look half as respect-inducing as this one. Between it and the other buildings were a small river with a bridge crossing it. Parade hurried over, but Maya stopped to look down into the waters. There wasn't a fence.

Around the tower was a stone layed courtyard and an impressively beautiful wooden fence, though. Some pine trees lined the fence here and there, their branches swaying in the wind up above. Parade was still amazed by the building. Maybe Maya's pokémon had a hidden sense of architecture? Silently, she swallowed and agreed with him when they entered the courtyard. Only a couple of people were there, and they were going in Maya's opposite direction. As they passed her, they gave her friendly nods. Maya wasn't really used to that; in the large city of Goldenrod, people seldom greeted each other on the streets.

Parade had rushed in front of her and entered the great pagoda on his own. Worried that someone might go wild if they saw a stray, shiny pokémon, Maya swore (hoping that the other people didn't hear her) and rushed inside herself. Balloon clung happily to the black curls on the trainer's head.

Inside was a great hall, made of wood all over. In the midst of it was a great, thick pillar of wood. It was... swaying? Maya had half expected there to be a reception filled with tourist brochures... but there was only one person there, and nothing that even remotely resembled a reception. The person was a young boy with a shaved head. He was sitting alone on a stool, reading a newspaper with a bored look. Beside him on the floor sat a snoring pokémon looking like a flower. Balloon blurbed and Maya let her pokédex identify the pokémon. It was a Bellsprout, a grass type.

Parade had a smile on his face as he looked around him in the impressive room. He took some steps towards the pillar and the boy, but then the boy noticed him and flew straight up, dropping his newspaper. The Bellsprout awoke and yelped as it landed on top of it.

"Welcome!" he said quickly. "To the Sprout Tower! Here you can view..."

He seemed to stumble on his words when he spotted Parade's unusual looks. Maya rolled her eyes and guess that she better get used to this. "He's a shiny," she explained briefly. "And thanks for the welcome. So what is this place?"

The boy shook his head to regain his senses. "Right. This place is Sprout Tower... and you've just come to challenge the elder Chen, haven't you?"

Maya blinked. "The what?" But Parade stretched his fist towards the roof and growled. The boy somehow took that as a yes.

And that was how Maya a few minutes later was standing on the bridge again. This time, she was facing an older man on the other side of the bridge. He was dressed in yellow and purple clothing, pretty non-modern style, and he was holding a single pokéball. His face was so old and wrinkled, and filled with white beard, so that Maya could hardly see his eyes. But he looked wise. A breeze had been whipped up by the forces of weather, and made her a bit uneasy. She certainly wouldn't use Balloon for this battle. Parade or Clown, though?

The boy from earlier was a young monk in the Sprout tower, apparently. He and his tiny Bellsprout were now standing on the shore, behind the elder. They were on the Violet side of the river, while Maya was standing on the tower side. It gave her the feeling that she was fighting for her right to get out of there.

"It'll be a one on one battle!" the boy shouted. He was to be the judge.

"Fine with me," Maya said as a response, through the slight wind.

Elder Chen nodded, and sent out his pokémon. It was a Bellsprout. It was slightly bigger than the boy's, and looked angrier. Or bitter, rather. Figures, Maya would be bitter too if she had spent her life living in a wooden tower.

A grass type. That settled it. Maya had been studying the pokédex a little. Clown wouldn't do good here. "Parade, go!"

Parade had been sent back into his pokéball, but now he sprung out again, and landed nimbly on the wooden bridge. His feathered ear waved slightly and glittered like gold in the still early sun.

    "You first," the elder said.

  • Well, here's my character sheet then. If you want me to add or remove anything, simply let me know and I'll be on it straight away.

    Name: Keldia "Kel" Thompson
    Age: 17
    Pokéma: Tangela
The "mark" of a Pokéma is apparent on the back of Kel's neck, and most of the time it is completely hidden by her long hair. It appears to be a thin blue mark which appears similar to that of a snake's pupil, and is about as long as he thumb.

When her Pokéma is activated, her hair changes from single strands into the long vines in which Tangela are covered with. They turn a dark-green/blue colour which is a few inches longer than her previous hair-style, but now Keldia's hair is prehensile, and probably used more than she would he hands if she happens to have her Pokéma activated. This allows her to use a crude form of vine whip and similar abilities that Tangela posses, although to a somewhat lesser extent seeing as she is not actually a Tangela.

Personality: Keldia Thompson has often been told that creativity flows from her fingertips, and in a way, that is perfectly true. An inventor at heart, Kel has often been known to improvise with anything nearby, whether it be in or out of a Pokemon related situation. This can make her a very resourceful traveller able to make something from nothing simply out of inspiration. It's a useful trait which she picked up from a very young age, and has had a habit of creating things ever since. It might be more of an obsession than a habit, since it would be incredibly hard for someone to drag Keldia off of her latest project. However, while she is insanely dedicated to the creation of whichever item she happens to be modifying, she's not hugely smart in other areas. Science has never been her strong point (unless it's about electricity) and English has never helped her in designing an object at all, thus she has abandoned trying to refine her writing much. Her hand-writing is still legible... just.
Nor does Keldia speak any other language other than English, since she knows learning another language wouldn't help her other than to read the instructions to a foreign appliance, and even then she'd prefer to just mess around with it and work it out herself. Still, she's smart in the subjects in which she enjoys, one of them just so happens to be Pokemon battling.

Being so involved in her "work" most of the time gives other the impression of being anti-social, but that would be somewhat wrong. If you'd manage to catch Kel when she's not fixing something or if you managed to pry her away from it she's actually a rather cheerful character, and enjoys a good chat once in a while. It keeps the brain active and stops the ideas running dry. Still, getting her to stop with anything can be a mighty difficult task if you're doing anything short of breaking down a building.

History: Keldia was engraved with her powers at the age of nine and was one of the much earlier Pokéma to surface into the world, even if she managed to keep it a secret for quite some time.

She was born in the Kanto town of Viridian and spent to first thirteen years of her life there and had a relatively ordinary life. Kel lived with two siblings, both of them being younger than she was. It was a quiet one, but it was interesting none the less. Keldia spent her early years wondering about what it would be like to be a Pokemon trainer, although her young age at the time restricted that. Still, Kel spent a large amount of time exploring the northern areas of Viridian, edging on the deep forests filled with Bug-Pokemon. She never actually entered the area, following the strict orders from her parents not to enter without a Pokemon, and seeing as she had none, she agreed out of the common feeling of self-preservation.

Anyway, it was only a few months from that point that Pokemon training was banned. Towns begun to fall to attacking Pokemon, technology began to slip away as if it were as worthless as a single pebble, and eventually the many towns and cities in Kanto turned into little more than rubble. Viridian managed to hold out for a while, but it was not immune to what had toppled many other cites. So, now lacking the chance to become a Pokemon trainer and her home town falling apart around itself, Keldia took her chances and headed deep into Viridian Forest. Why? She simply wanted to see what was inside. There was no chance of her ever having a Pokemon to protect her, and waiting would simply become boring. She was a little over nine years old when this happened, and it would have only been a year before she would have become eligible to train Pokemon, so she thought that it was no different and that she would be perfectly safe. Of course, she was wrong. Within minutes of entering the maze of trees and vines it was clear that she was already lost, and that the nine year-old Keldia was completely lost. She began wandering for a good hour before something else happened, and even then it wasn't helpful. Rushing from the tree tops and their barbs poised and ready to kill, flew a swarm... no, a horde of Beedrill. They were angry and ready to tear apart anything they came across, with Keldia being the first target.

So she ran as fast as she could. Kel had no idea where to go, and the Beedrill were catching up, but if she hadn't ran then she would have almost certainly been torn apart and stabbed to death by the Bug/Poison types. Trying to slow down the Pokémon's assault, she darted between the trees which had less of a gap, hoping that they might crash into them. She had no such luck. Not yet anyway. Continuing to sprint forward, it was clear that there were too many vines around this area. Keldia had learnt about Pokemon which create vines. Tangela and Tangrowth. Still, the Beedrill were a more immediate threat for now, that was at least until the first few were smashed to the ground by a large, blue vine which burst from no-where. Stepping into place came a Tangrowth, waddling forward and absorbing the plant-life, it began to fend off the Beedrill assailants with amazing accuracy, power and speed. Within a minute it had neutralised the attackers and defended Keldia, although the Tangrowth was badly injured and clearly poisoned. It wouldn't last long without medical assistance. And then, at the least opportune time, Keldia fainted.

She woke up a good few hours later, and quickly threw herself into a standing position. Kel was alone. No Tangrowth, no attacking Pokemon, and certainly no evil Beedrill. Where had everyone gone? The Grass-type couldn't have just disappeared, could it? It looked so badly injured. Brushing a hand through her hair and sighing slightly, she froze in place. Her smooth hair had changed. She pulled a 'strand' in front of it and examined the image. No longer did she have strawberry blonde hair but was now replaced with a dark-blue vine. It was exactly like a plant. What on earth had happened? Still, Keldia kept inside the forest for another hour trying to work out what had happened. She had been attacked by Beedrill, saved by a Tangrowth, and then turned partially into one? Actually she had become part-Tangela due to her young age, but that's not the point. That all sounded too ridiculous to her. Soon enough the vines changed back to ordinary hair, and Keldia swiftly left the area and headed home. No-one had to know about this. It was simply her mind playing tricks on her, she knew that. There was no way that someone's hair could turn into vines, was there? So, she shoved the memory to the recesses of her mind and convinced herself that she was dreaming. She must have been hit by a little bit of Beedrill poison, that was it. Not enough to hurt her, but would easily cause confusion and hallucination. That was the only possible explanation.

After almost forgetting about it, Keldia caught the slightest glance of something through a mirror. It reflected off of a second, giving her a clear very of the back of her neck. It had a tiny blue mark there, similar in appearance to a snake's pupil, and within seconds her hair was once again a tangled mess of vines. She practised this for a while, learning how to swap in and out of her Pokéma state, and found that some of the vines would follow her finger tips. Soon she learnt how to do it simply by her line of sight, and eventually Keldia learnt to manipulate her hair as if it were simply her arms. Of course, this training lasted over a couple of years, up to about the age of eleven when she finally caught the hang of it. The discrete and easy-to-hide location of the mark made it easy to pretend that she was ordinary unless of course she had her hair moved back for some reason. This all worked out fine and dandy, learning a few tricks about her knew abilities and managing to stay out of sight, since she had learnt that Pokéma – as they were called – were not the most accepted characters, so she laid low, hoping that it would blow over. It did not, and she finally lost her temper seeing a police officer trying to arrest another Pokéma. An Abra one she believed. This lead to chaos as she used her prehensile hair as a few extra limbs and managed to subdue the officer, but was then met by five more. The Abra Pokéma was captured, but Keldia ran. This all happened a few months ago now, and Keldia has since retreated to the woods of Viridian forest. It was the only place she felt safe at around that time, despite what kind of a pickle she had gotten herself into.

Eventually though, travel once again was in order. The police were still looking for her after a week, and had sent exploration teams into the forest. After a few near-misses, she had gotten out. Moving from town to town staying well out of her Pokéma form, she stayed quiet and managed to remain undetected (although kept away from the police in case they had her picture or something). Soon however, there was talk of a Pokéma gathering in Lavender town. Keldia took her chance... now she was going to do something more fun.

Appearance: Standing at about 5'6", Keldia is just a little above average for a girl of her age, but still not hugely tall in general. Kel's skin is also slightly tanned due to spending a large amount of time outside in the warm sun. While smiling is not an overly common expression to Keldia, her cheeks dimple slightly as she does so. The eyes of Keldia Thompson are a viciously deep green, and her hair is a strawberry blonde which reaches down to her shoulders and curls slightly at the end. Before becoming a Pokéma she would tie it back, but not that it would reveal the mark, she has refrained from doing that. Being 17, Keldia's form is slightly curvy, although not by a huge amount. The back of her neck sports the mark in which shows that she is a Pokéma, and it's appearance is explained in the 'Pokéma' section of this Sign-up.

Clothing-wise, Keldia wears a pair of blue jeans which fit comfortably while being less restricting in movement than extremely tight-fitting jeans. Black trainers are worn on her size five feet, which allow for running and easy travel, a habit that Keldia picked up on her trip around Sinnoh, and one which should prove useful to some extent now that she's been given the task of stopping Shadow Pokemon. White socks are worn underneath her shoes, although those aren't exactly noticeable. For her torso, Keldia wears a bright green T-shirt, of which the next, short sleeves and base have a thin white line around them. Finally, Kel wears a thin white jacket over the shirt which works wonders to keep her warm. Currently, she is wearing a thin scarf to cover the back of her neck just in case Keldia's hair does not completely block the mark of the Pokéma. It's just a precaution.

Roleplay sample: Vermilion port was a place in which Melody had never actually visited before. She could have quite easily headed south after arriving in Saffron about a year back, but she had decided against it and gone west to Celadon. To think, that if Melody had only gone south instead of west that day she wouldn't have been stuck with the hell raiser that was Violet the Bulbasaur. She chuckled at the thought, before resting her hand on the Pokéball which held said Pokemon. Melody didn't dare let her out in a relaxed environment, since the Grass type would only unleash hell as she usually did. Still, it was nice to know that there were three Pokemon travelling with her than just two, even if both Ashva and Knight were capable fighters when they needed to be. A light, although almost echoing grunt came from beside Melody as she clambered her way through the remains of Diglett's cave. Melody would rue the day she decided to stay in Pewter city, or at least travel through Mt. Moon at all. Still, at least Knight – the Pokemon which had made that low grunt – had been doing wonders at charging their way through the rocky tunnel like a freight train.

"Ka... top," muttered the Shellfish Pokemon, as he lead the way through the somewhat dim maze of tunnels to be sure that Melody came to no harm.

Occasionally scratching his blades against the rocky walls, Knight continued to make heavy footprints in the ground, made soft from the constant digging of Diglett and Dugtrio. They weren't a huge problem to fight with due to Knight's Water-typing, but the mud made trekking across it painfully tiring, and in Melody's mind – just a little gross. Still, she continued forward by leaping from the occasional rock to the other, trying not to soak her sandals in mud. Shouldn't their be some other way for trainers without a Flying-type to get around easier? Apparently not.

Melody glanced at her Knight in dull brown armour. "Relax kiddo, we're gunna be outta here soon whether you like it or not!" she cheered, pushing a pebble away with her foot. "And besides, what's gotten you so worked up anyway? It's not like we're goin' to get attacked by any Golbat. You don't find 'em down here... I think..."

This did nothing to calm the some-what touchy Rock/Water type, as he continued to break in a path of clawed footprints into the soft earth below. The cave was slowly brightening now, which was a good sign. It meant that the trek into the cave was nearly over, and that Melody could finally get the mud and dirt off of her sandals. And get some fresh air at least. As Melody continued to follow her Pokemon, Knight was keeping his eyes peeled for any signs of movement. No doubt he could feel the tremors caused by Dugtrio underneath his feet, but he seemed to stay calm about it. No Dugtrio in this cave could stand up to one of Knight's Aqua Jet attacks, unless of course they were truly a powerful creature. Melody however could tell just how tense the creature was by his unusually heavy footing and somewhat sluggish movements. That would all change in an actually battle scenario, but for now it was just him being cautious. Melody rested a hand on the creatures shoulder, which seemed to subdue the worry for a moment, but that was soon washed away. Luckily however, that just didn't matter anymore. A few bursting rays of sunlight broke into the tunnel, slowly illuminating the somewhat dark area.

Melody almost threw herself outside, almost losing a shoe in the thick mud. "We're free!"

The Kabutops followed suit, and almost seemed to sigh at her comment. Melody always had been a more childish character. The one to overreact. The one to miss the obvious. The one to be naïve. Still, she was good hearted, and Knight knew she had potential as a trainer, at least to some extent. To think that once Knight had become in Melody's possession, he was almost scared of her, No, she was as harmless as a newborn Azurill.

As Melody's eyes adjusted to the blazing sunlight – at lease compared to inside the tunnel – she began to grasp her surroundings. She was near the sea, that was easy enough to tell. The smell of salt pierced her senses, and a lone Krabby scuttled along the nearby beach. If Melody had remembered correctly, then Vermilion was west of here, and they could get to the port-town simply by walking down the coast-line, which is what the two did. Well, Melody walked, but Knight took this time to swim through the waters, which was a rare occurrence when travelling more inland as Melody had been doing. He deserved a treat after what they had all been through. Never the less, it was soon enough that Knight was forced to move into shallow waters, where the tide barely covered his ankles. They were moving into the docking areas of Vermilion, and Melody just wouldn't put up with Knight being caught in a boat-propeller. And something told her the boat owner wouldn't be too pleased either.

Knight clicked his blades together slightly in annoyance that he had to leave the water. "Bu, Kabutops..." he grumbled, slowly moving out of the water and along the dry sandy beach to stand beside Melody.

Soon enough, Vermilion changed from the expanse of beach and few boats along the horizon into the city Melody had always been told it was. A bustling metropolis filled with people, boats, cafés, and anything else you'd expect from a city built by industries like fishing and ocean transport. But of course – much to Melody's dismay – she was not here to relax. She was on a mission to the docks!

    "Name?"

Melody spun round to the voice. "Huh?" she asked, completely oblivious to what this other was talking about. Why was he asker her her name, anyway? It sounded all a little bit suspicious to Melody, and she glared at the man slightly.

He looked back with a little confusion. "I need your name. You are here for the trip to the Saliplan Island aren't you?"

Gasping a little, Melody composed herself, standing up straighter than she was a moment ago. "Oh, yeah. That's me!" she cheered. "Oh, I'm Melody Bennett by the way," she added as if it were simply an addition to the answer this man wanted rather than the focus of it.

Behind Melody, Knight still stood patiently, brandishing his scythes as if he were about to attack, but made no movements what-so-ever, remaining perfectly still. The man meanwhile began to search down his clipboard, searching for Melody's name. He quickly drew a line on the paper which was presumably a tick beside Melody's name. He turned up and smiled at the girl. Knight was still staring at him, always being a little wary of new people.

"Ok, the boat should be leaving shortly after the others arrive, and in the mean-time feel free to just relax. I'm Robin by the way."

Melody nodded. "I take it you wouldn't enjoy me making Bat-man references, huh?"

Robin seemed to take no notice of the comment, and simply began to scan through his clip-board and then tick off any new-comers to the trip. Relaxation would have to wait however, as Melody was quickly intercepted by another person with a decidedly less cheerful expression. He wore a light-cream suit and had a sports bag slung over his shoulders. Two things you rarely see at the same time.

"My name is Francis," the man said, before beginning to recite a list of items off by heart. "Sun-cream?"

Melody knelt down and placed her bag onto the floor, and then unzipped it. She began to rummage through it for a while to seemingly no avail despite how much stuff was clogged in there. Eventually though, Melody pulled out a bottle of sun-cream.

Melody chuckled. "Factor fifty, I believe. Good for keeping sun-burn at bay, and I've got a couple of other bottles in there in case I run out for some reason or another." At this, she placed it back into her bag.

This 'Francis' character began to ramble on about a few other things in which she might need, each of which Melody managed to salvage from her bag, show it to him, and then place it back in. While she wasn't a fan of this much "security", it was always funny to glanced at Knight only to see him keeping that continuous, and slightly murderous stare. He must really not like these people. Francis then seemed to turn away as if he had just lost interest with talking to Melody. She had found him a little overly boring to be honest, and all he had done was check whether she had everything. Boring! Melody sighed heavily before picking herself back up into a standing position.

    "Now can I relax?"

    Sign-up:
    Name: Van Vespertilio
    Age: 15
    Gender: Male

Pokéma: Van has a Crobat Pokéma. He got it at 11 when he found himself lost in a cave, it attacked without reason and he found that he had sprouted four, purple batwings on his back and was able to fly away extremely fast. This appears as four purple batwings connected on his back, when it isn't used. They have turquoise outlines to each of them. When he is using them, he is able to move with great amounts of swiftness and agility, like a Crobat. He is able to use Air Slash when he has his wings out. He often uses it to steal from shops because most shops won't sell him food because of his abilities.

Personality: Van is a completely different person around Pokéma than he is around regular humans. He treats humans much like they treat him, like the scum of the world. He thinks it is necessary to "Pay them back". He thinks that Pokéma are a stronger and superior race, so he often acts arrogant towards humans. When he is attacked by them he often fights back, knowing that if danger arises he can take flight. He likes to stay in his Pokéma form in the company of humans so that he has intimidation to help him, he knows that this can also be dangerous and the he can be captured at any time.

In the company of Pokéma he is not arrogant or hostile, because he knows that they can be just as strong as him. But he instead is aggressive. He feels like other Pokéma are a potential threat to his existence. He feels comfortable around Pokéma he can trust though. When this is the case, he is serious and businesslike, but none the less, not a bad guy. He never would kill another Pokéma however; he feels like Pokéma should stay united and fight against humans.

Van grew up with a rich family, they owned an estate and he had five siblings, but he was cast away from them when they found out he was a Pokéma, the only one of his family who thought it wasn't a bad thing was his oldest brother. He often visits him in secret. Ever since then he has been like he is, mostly sad or angry inside, but trying to be confident outside.

History: As stated above, Van grew up in a rich family and lived on a large estate with his mother, father, and five siblings. He grew up as a gentleman and learned the fine arts. He was educated and he grew up thinking that people shouldn't shun Pokéma and that they were just like humans, he got these ideas from his eldest brother. In contrast, the rest of his family thought the worst of them, that they were dangerous, ruthless, barbaric, savages. So Van and his brother kept these ideas between each other.

Van was wandering off of the estate when he was eleven, he ended up lost, and so he made his way to a cave to spend the night. The next morning he woke up and was attacked by a Crobat, he curled up into a ball in futile attempts to guard himself and he felt a lurch in his stomach and a weird pulling sensation in his back. He had sprouted wings!!! He was able to fly away, and he did. Unsure what to think of this, he flew to his home. He didn't know what his family would think, so he didn't tell them. For months it remained a secret between him and his brother.

His brother, a muscular guy, often would fight with him to train him for the case that anyone found out. He needed to become stronger so he trained. He gave up his education, knowing that it would be useless with people knowing that he's a Pokéma.

One day, when he was twelve, Van was hiking with his little sister on their grounds and his shirt caught a branch and tore, his sister saw his marks and ran to tell his parents. His parents kicked them out of their house like he was an unrelated vagrant. His brother vouched for him but it was useless. He had to live on his own now, so he used violence and thievery to survive. Everywhere he went he was shunned and cast away, He developed a cold and hard personality, much different from his former self. Jolly, and carefree.

Appearance: Van dresses to match his Pokéma's colors, purple and teal. Rather bright colors. He wears a purple short-sleeved shirt that goes a bit lower than the average shirt. Over this he wears a teal hooded sweatshirt that unzips down the middle. The zipper, cuffs, and bottom trim are all white. He wears this unzipped most of the time, but not in the cold. He wears black jeans that are neither tight nor baggy. He wears black shoes with white toes and laces.

Van is not a happy looking person. He never wears a smile and he has a piercing gaze. He has narrow amber eyes, and a straight small nose. His blond hair falls down to his eyebrows. It isn't neat and is always sticking up in one place or another, it is otherwise straight. He has a round child-like face that contrasts with his personality. People always say it makes him look younger than he is.

Van is short for his age, about five feet and six inches. He is slender and moderately muscular. He stands and walks with his shoulders hunched, but when he is doing something active he stands upright. He moves swiftly and is very physically able.

    Day 2

    Beep

Jean awoke from the watch's noise. He read his new challenge on the screen:
"Head south to the giant lake. There you will find Harbinger Scuba gear, your task will be to find a gold coin. You will have to fight through some water pokemon underwater. Your watch will temporarily act as a beacon. The challenge will be won once the coin is found and you are safely out of the water."

He clicked the green button on the side, accepting the challenge. "How am I supposed to know where the lake is?" He no longer had Kramer the Houndoom at his side, he had gone to finish a challenge yesterday and hadn't yet come back. If he were there he would have been able to find a water source with his sharp nose.

Jean set off down the volcano, you can't find water there. From the base of it, he headed where he assumed was south. How quickly the terrain changed from the volcano to the lush green grass he was standing on now. There was a forest off to his right, the same one that Kramer was probably in now.

Jean started to walk. His wound's pain wasn't quite as bad as he thought. It was probably because a baby houndoor had given it to him. Onward he went hoping, with much doubt, that he was headed towards the lake.

After minutes of hiking, he finally reached a large water source. His watch vibrated, confirming he was near the coin. He got down to his under layers and began to wade into the lake. It was cool and there were rocks in the soft ground in the water. His feet sank into the murky water. He was never a particularly strong swimmer, he always swam with his water Pokémon for support. He would do the same now, he shuffled through the contents of his bag and released Star and Sid his water Pokémon. They immediately went into the water.

"Let's start. Star I'm going to hold on to your back and guide you where to go. Sid you watch out for wild Pokémon." Sid just blew a few bubbles out of his mouth, they said, I'll do what I want. But Jean had faith that Sid would help enough.

Just as they were about to go down. "Scuba Gear!" He rushed over to a bank where he spotted flippers, a mask, a wetsuit and an oxygen tank. "Perfect." He put on the gear and set off.

The water was dark, you could see only a few feet ahead of you. He occasionally thought he saw a Pokémon but it would just be a clump of seaweed. He was guided by his watch further and further into the depths. He saw a glint of light and indicated for Star to dive deeper. He arrived and it was only a Lanturn. It attacked, Jean shielded himself by curling into a ball. Nothing happened. He opened his eyes and saw that it was knocked out by Sid. Jean would say good job, but all that would come out was bubbles.

Further they went, it got colder as they dove deeper, and he had a limit to his time. He would guess that twenty minutes had already passed, he shrugged it off however that he would lose this challenge. His cut hand was starting to sting and leak blood. Wait, it was leaking blood! This alarmed Jean, he knew that blood attracted Sharpeedos and Carvanahs, he would have to hurry up.

His worst fears were confirmed just as his watch started to vibrate some more. He was really close. From behind him a pack of Carvanahs was speeding towards him following his trail of blood. Jean turned, he heard them. The Carvanahs were closer his Pokémon both attacked, it took out a fair amount between their hydro-pumps.

"AHHH" bubbles came out of Jean's scuba mask. He was bitten by a Carvanah in the foot. It was quickly taken off by Sid. This bite was much deeper than the one he had received yesterday. Blood began pouring out instantly, it formed pillows of what looked like red smoke. Jean's Pokémon were stronger than them though. They over powered the Carvanah with barely a scratch.

They moved on, now Jean's watch was vibrating violently, he was near. Star went towards a gold glint in a patch of seaweed at the bottom. They were very close, Jean was sure they were going to get it easily now. His confidence would be quickly shot down when a Gyrados darted out of the seaweed. Jean was frightened, in fact he was trembling with fear Star and Sid both attacked, it hardly did anything. It encroached on Jean, he dodged out of the way barely. The gyrados zoomed past with open jaws. He swam towards the gold coin swiftly, unfortunately his right flipper was torn from the carvanah bit that was now burning with pain.

He went closer and closer. He was an arm's length away, his watch seemed like it was about to explode. He grabbed the coin! He got it! He was done. But in his moment of glory he found the gyrados to be right behind him, it hit him in the back and he was sent flying forward. He started to slip from consciousness everything went black, but he still had the coin firmly grasped.

He awoke on a desert bank right next to the lake, his watch beeped, 'Challenge Complete'. He saw Star and Sid swimming in the lake in front of him. They noticed he was awake. They looked overjoyed, but injured as well. He wasn't where he started, he was on the other side of the lake, IN A DESERT!

"Uh-Oh." He started to panic. The heat was sweltering. "Guys?" Jean said "we need to get back to the other side" His Pokémon nodded that they knew that already. Star signaled for Jean to get on her back. Jean refused. "No, you two are injured," He pulled out his pokeballs and returned them. He couldn't walk on his injured foot, and he had no Pokémon to use.

He waited in the heat. Grasping tight his coin, he would keep it as a reminder to never get careless again.

Dusk eventually came and the dessert became suddenly freezing, he lie down and tried to make himself warm. He was now buried in the warm sand but still very cold. He needed help.
"I really suck at life." He said just before he went to sleep.

    End of Day 2

    I hope that's acceptable.

  • Sorry for taking so long, forgot about the OOC thread...anyways!

    Name: Echidna
    Age: 20
Pokéma: Arbok, manifests itself by turning her legs into an Arbok's tail. She has two, side-ways black eyes on her thighs (one on each). She also as two small black marks just under her lower lip. This makes it so that her canine teeth grow long like fangs and they then get poison on them.
Personality: Echidna is a very shy girl who rarely talks. She doesn't like standing out at all and doesn't like to have any attention on her. She is very submissive and will usually take any and all orders given by a leader or a person who gives a leadership position. She rarely, if ever, voice her own opinion on a subject or matter when there is someone else to think for her. After all, they must know better then her, or else they wouldn't be in the position they're in.

That said, Echidna is a kind girl who just wants to see the best in everyone and in every situation. She is also very loyal to those who she feels comfortable with and who she believes she can really trust. Echinda also really likes children and will do what she can to protect them, even if the kids doesn't like her for who she is. Overall, she just wants to get along with everyone and for everyone to get along.
History: Echinda was born Joan Dale to a well-to-do family. Her father was the owner of a small chain of stores and her mother worked as a suit saleswomen. For the first thirteen years of Joan's life, she was quite happy. She had kind of loving parents who cared for her and got her what she wanted. The girl also had an older brother who protected her from all who meant her harm. Overall, things were very nice in Saffron City Kanto.

But then came the day she was walking around on Route 6. It had been a bright and clear day with a nice breeze. Truely, a beautiful day. She came out to this place because her brother suggested that they go look for Pokemon and try to befriend them. Joan wasn't really interested, but she knew that her brother wanted to be a trainer for so long. Besides, maybe she would meet a Pokemon and befriend it! That way, she could have someone else to play with.

So things went on smoothly at first. Joan and her brother were just looking around in the bushes, making sure to stay near eachother. Soon, Joan found a pair of Nidorans (one male, one female) huddled up together. Joan couldn't help but to squel in delight as she saw how cute the Pokemon were. this startled the two so much that they both used Poison Sting on her. Joan could only gasp at the attacks landed and she fell into the bushes. Her brother saw this happen and ran as fast as he could to get help. But he would have been too late as the poison was coursing through Joan's body very quickly, shutting down her organs.

Just as Joan was about to die, an Arbok slithered towards her and lifted his hood to gaze down at her, staring deep into her eyes. The Arbok's +Pokma saw the, very nearly, dead girl and traveld into her body to give her new life. Joan's legs suddenly came together and a huge, purple tail was where they once were. The Arbok was very startled by this, and the sound of many people coming, and slithered away.

When the people, which included her family, some friends and neighbours, saw what Joan had suddenly become, the friends and neighbours suddenly grew very scared. They some of them grabbed sticks and were trying to get to the girl to put her out of her misery. Her family, however, did their best to hold them back. Joan's father shouted for her to get away and Joan did, never looking back. She slithered into the nearest forest and hide. Soon, the people came into the forest to try and find her, but they never did. Joan saw that her family was not of the numbers looking for her, but she didn't want to think about what happened to them.

From there, Joan wondered around the Kanto reigon, drifting here and there with out any aims or goals. She would have done this until she died if, while slithering near Mt. Silver at the age of 15, some Jhoto slave traders caught her and quickly smuggled her into the Jhoto reigion. From there, she was auctioned off to a very right man and his pregnate wife. The +Pokema, who had since forgotten her name, feared the worse. She had seen how others of her kind had been treated and expected to get the same experience.

However, she was lucky in that her owners, John and Mary Vanderla, were generally kind and understanding. They actually wanted her so that she could take care of their expecting child, to protect him and care for him. The wife wanted a dog +Pokema because she thought they would be more loyal, but the husband saw something in this Arbok +Pokema that he really liked.

So the Arbok +Pokema, now called Echidna, was shown how things were done in the household. The Vanderlas were delighted to see that Echidna was more then willing to follow orders. When the baby was born, who was a beautiful girl named Alice, Echidna quickly grew close to her. She pratcially raised the girl by herself and they were pretty much always together. Alice even began to call Echinda her 'Older Sister' with no shame.

That said, Echidna always did want to go back to Kanto to see what had happened to her there. Her owners were more then willing to let her travel about, but they were worried about her going to Kanto. It took some convincing, but Echinda was eventually able to get premission to go to Kanto. She knew that she would have a lot of trouble, but she just had to now what was going on in her home region. So she took the nearest train and took it to Pallet Town.
Appearance: In her normal human form, Echidna stands around 5'10" with white skin. Her body is quite skinny with some defined muscles in her arms, and very defined muscles in her legs. She has an oval head with amber eyes and long hair that's died the same colour as her tail. She also has two pairs of slashes above her heart where the Poison Stings got her. Her tail is a dark purple, is around 9 feet long and very thick.

Normally, Echinda wears a black tank-top with a white symbol on the back. She also usually wears a long, light grey skirt that covers the markings on her thighs. Echidna also has that one because its easy for her to take off whenever she morphs her legs into her tail. She never wears shoes because they just get in the way when she transforms and she had gotten used to walking around like that. The +Pokema also wears a tight golden collar around her neck and a golden tag that has the Vanderla's name, address and contact information should a problem arise. Lastly, she has on a faded and rusted flower clip in her hair. She had this on when she was attacked and never took it off, even when she forgot how she got it in the first place.

  • @Charzeon: I'd accept in a second if it weren't for one thing: You're meant to start off in Kanto D:

If you can edit your history so that Echidna starts the RP in Kanto it'd be great. It's just, part of the plot focuses on the movement from Kanto to Johto and if one character starts in Johto to begin with, and has to get to Lavender Town for the meeting before heading back to Goldenrod... you see? D:

    Name: Ashton

    Age: 16

Pokéma: His Pokéma is Bayleaf. His Mark is just below his neck. It looks like a C with an elongated spine, with three horizontal dash marks inside, but connected to the C. To finish it all off it has a line at the bottom of the C.

When it manifests itself a couple changes are applied to his appearance. The most notable would be the leaf sprouting on his forehead. Also the first time he changed his hair turned green and his blonde hair was permanently affected, making his hair always green.

Personality: Overall he's a nice person with good intensions and a quick brain to make snap decisions. Although he might get a little bit cocky from time to time, and some may label him annoying. He tends to try and one-up people and treats many things as just a game, which includes fighting. As an effect of being cocky and treating battles like a game, he often becomes a frustrating opponent, but he can really back it up with his skills. If you lose to him in a mock battle, you may never hear the end of it.

Outside of battle he is a little on the relaxed side, not lazy, relaxed. He's very outgoing and acts like he's not a Pokéma unless his hair is pointed out, then he gets ready to defend himself, but doesn't show it in case they aren't out to get him. He never knew another Pokéma but would like to.

History: At the age of five Ashton wondered off into the woods and his parents never found him. He ended up living like that for a month, eating scraps he found and berries. Until ne day he found a man crying, he approached the man, who then took him to his home and fed him. A week into living with the man, Ezike, he was handed a sword and given a choice to be his apprentice, he said yes, him being young and adventurous. A year later, he had basic skills with the sword. Also then Ezike told him his reasons for training him. The day he met Ashton in the woods, was the day his son had been killed by a rampaging Ryhorn. He wasn't able to penetrate the rock skin with the dagger he threw and his son was killed. Then when he met Ashton in to woods, he promised himself that he would train him to be able to defend himself from life's dangers.

Two years later, they went out to a small pond to grab buckets of water when out from the water a Blastoise arose and attacked the trespassers on his territory. Ezike was able to fend it off but in the end he was no match, his blade unable to do much damage against its shell before the fatal blow he said "Run off somewhere safe, take my sword if you can and leave! Stay alive!" with that he was hit and killed. Ashton was so shocked he could not move. The Blastoise hit Ashton to the side, almost knocking him unconscious. He lay there and then saw a Pokémon look at him from behind the bush and before he knew it, he had green hair and a large leaf on his forehead and he was hitting the Blastoise with razor leaf. Soon the Blastoise was defeated and he buried Ezike.

For two years he lived alone and trained with his Anima powers and his swordsmanship. He had no contact with humans, but soon could not stand it. Humans ARE social creatures, so he sought out a town, wearing his Ezike's spare clothing, as his was becoming too small to work with and also took his master's blade. He lingered in the town and did a little stealing to stay alive, but was soon run out for being Pokéma. He did this with many other towns, sometimes with bloodshed, he tended to be pursued and hunted, or challenged to a death battle. Against his will, he cut down all who opposed, but only actually killed those who it couldn't be avoided. To this day he has a couple people sworn to kill him, and maybe some reward put on his head.

When he found out about the meeting in Lavender town, he set course right away. He still had yet to meet a Pokéma, that he knew for sure was one. He also wanted to make friends with people who would understand him, and not try to kill him. Nothing much happened on the way, other than being attacked a couple of times, and getting another sworn enemy on his tail. He made great time though, probably because of his pent up excitement to meet others like him.

Appearance: He's a little short of the average height for his age, hazel eyes and due to the hair change from being a +Anima, he has light green hair. He is in great shape, but not much muscle. For clothes, he wears his deceased master's robes. Coincidentally, they are green with white trim. It consists of a long sleeved green shirt. Over that there is a short sleeved tunic that ends at his knees and is cut on either side, and the cut goes up to his waist. The Tunic does not cover his mark at all, but he figures that the green hair already gives it away. Around his waist he has a leather belt with many straps and holders on it. His pants are just plain and white, nothing special. And he does not wear shoes.

On the belt there are a couple things he carries a couple things. One of the pouches carries bread and any other food he may have, this pouch is about the size of his hand. Also on his belt he has his sword and sheath. The sword was previously his master's and looks similar to a katana with a white hilt. Another thing he inherited from his master is the mask, which is white with a S shaped stripe of green on the right side which trails off the mask

I'll also add (again?) that I might be a bad roleplayer this and next week, because of fat exams :x But I'll try not to get behind.
