Battle!
Dile came running over, looking around for his opponent. Chris pointed at a red pincer coming out of the sand. A second pincer appeared, and the Pokemon hoisted itself out of the hole. The Pokemon looked very much like a crab, with a red top half and a light underbelly. The Pokemon spotted Chris and Dile, and scuttled sideways over to them.
Chris crouched down to Dile's level. "Alright Dile, here's a good time to practice our "act""
"Toto, Toto!" Dile chimed in agreement as Chris stood back up. The Krabby maniacally snapped it's claws open and closed as Dile jumped in front of it, eager for the battle.
"Alright Dile," Chris yelled "Let's use a... um... Scratch Attack!"
Dile looked at Chris, rather confused for a moment, he hadn't used that attack in a long time. He looked at Chris for clarification. Suddenly, the Krabby jumped at Dile, hitting him with a Strong Bubble attack, knocking Dile flat on his back. Bubbles foamed out of the Krabby's mouth as it happily scuttled back and forth.
"Toto..." Dile groaned, flat on his back looking up at the sky.
"Dile, Get Up!" Chris shouted. Dile quickly jumped back up, his face began to turn a slight tint of red as his anger rose. He was obviously annoyed that he had just gotten knocked over by a water attack.
Dile launched himself at the Krabby, hitting it with, this time, a successful Scratch attack. The Krabby skidded across the sand, coming to a stop about 5 feet from where it once stood. Foam spilled out of it's mouth once again and it began to get frustrated "Clicking" sounds.
"Good Job Totodile. Now use Leer!" Chris shouted, remembering more moves from when Dile was a starter. Dile eyes narrowed as it stared at the Krabby. The crab like Pokemon began to shake as the intimidation settled in, effectively lowering it's defenses.
As the Krabby stood in the middle of the beach, Chris shouted to Dile again. "Great, now follow up with Scratch again!"
Dile sprinted at the Krabby, holding his right claw up high in anticipation of the next strike. All of a sudden, the Krabby buried into the ground, then quickly came back up causing mud to cover and pile up around the battlefield. However, the Totodile continued to dash at the Krabby, obviously still irate at the first fall.
When Dile was about a foot away from the Krabby, it rapidly scuttled to the right, moving out of Dile's path. Dile tried to correct his path, but he was going to fast and over corrected, slipping on the mud and flying into the cold ocean water with a solid 'splash'. The Krabby chuckled as Dile emerged from the water, soaking wet. Dile, infuriated with the Krabby's plan. Chris' face also grew red, he and Dile were being bested by a Krabby!
"Dile, don't take that! Use Hydro-" Chris stopped in mid-sentence and looked around, taking a deep breath. He almost got lost in his anger and blurted out a move which a 'rookie-Pokemon' wasn't supposed to know. He needed to relax and figure out a plan.
The cool, ocean breeze blew against his face as Chris surveyed the battlefield. Mud covered the Krabby and the battlefield around him and the waves touched Dile as they rolled into the shore. Chris thought back to the incident that happened only moments before. Suddenly, an idea came into Chris head.
"Dile!" He shouted to the Totodile, snapping it out of his temper. "Use Scratch Attack, but use the mud to your advantage. Don't try to turn, just slide on it to gain speed!"
Dile nodded, once again running at the Krabby. However, this time, Dile slid onto the mud, using it to speed up. The Krabby once again attempted to dodge, but this time, it was the one that slipped on the mud. Dile smiled as he saw his chance and swung at the Krabby with a Scratch attack. The Krabby was vaulted into the air, landing on the sand with a crash.
"Awesome move, Dile!" Chris complimented to the Totodile.
"Totodile!" Dile replied, smiling at Chris.
"Now all we need is a Pokeball..." Chris said, reaching down onto his belt. However, he could only find Dile's ball on his belt. He had forgotten to put extra Pokeballs onto his belt!
Chris hastily took his backpack off of his back, searching through the bag for any Pokeballs. Finally he found one and took it out, ready to capture the Krabby.
"OK, G-" Chris once again stopped in mid-sentence. In the place where the Krabby was only moments before was a indent in the sand, and the Krabby was nowhere to be seen. Chris panicked as he looked around for the Pokemon, only to catch a glimpse of it disappearing into the ocean.
Chris sighed as he put the empty Pokeball onto his belt, all the while watching the place where the Krabby disappeared into the ocean. Dile trudged over to Chris, looking down in disappointment.
"It's alright Dile, that one was my fault." Chris said reassuringly as he lifted Dile onto his shoulder. "We'll get the next one."
"Totodile!" Dile yelled into the air, perking up a bit from his slum.
With that, the pair walked down the beach. After about an hour of walking, when the sun was beginning to set, a lighthouse began to fade into view. It sat on top of a cliff above the ocean and had some houses situated next to it. It spun, shining it's light against the sunset. "When there's a lighthouse, there's usually a port... So that must be the rest point!" Chris exclaimed excitingly as he raced to the lighthouse with Dile on his shoulder, eager for his first badge.
(OOC: Lulz. I've just realized that I have no Idea what/where the rest point/ gym is supposed to be.)
