Pokemon Tanzanite

Contents:

1.) Introduction
2.) The Story
3.) New Pokemon
4.) New Abilities and Moves
5.) The Isho Region
6.) The Characters
7.) The Team

Part 1- Introduction

Welcome to the world of Pokemon Tanzanite, where you are about to embark on an amazing adventure through the unexplored region of Isho, meeting over 150 new Pokemon, new gym leaders, and a whole new way to play!

Part 2- The Story

The story of Pokemon Tanzanite is still in the works, but a basic idea has been layed out. Team Galactic makes a grand return with a new Administration and new ambitions. There is also a new Legendary Trio, representing the delicate balance of the global climate.

The legend behind the legendary trio may go like this... JADALGAS and OPALAGAN were locked in a catastrophic war many millenia ago, rapidly shifting the global climate between an Earth covered with hot, humid tropical forests, and an Earth covered in frozen, barren tundras. Many civilizations across the planet fell in the catastrophic global warming and cooling trends. After many centuries, two civilizations remained: the Equatorial Civilization that resided in the tropics of today's Pearlshore City and Tropal Island, and the Polar Civilization that ruled the northern landmass of Isho near today's Frostone City and Silicliff Town. The two societies were brutal rivals, often engaging in great wars in the name of their respective Gods. But after a while, the people realized that they too would be wiped out in their Gods' millenia old war, if they did not do something quickly. So the leaders sent their two greatest warriors, Gelidus (Latin for "frost") and Tepidus (Latin for "warm"), on a quest to the remote region of Isho called Solstiquinox ( solstice + equinox), which is the current location of Amberelic City.

Upon arrival at Solstiquinox, the two warriors climbed to the top of the Solstiquinox Temple and set two stones, the Aurora and Amazon Relics -the two most precious stones to the civilizations- in the middle of the altar at the top. The two stones were the keys to awakening the great warrior that could stop the great war between JADALGAS and OPALAGAN, and restore balance to the Earth's climate: the Equinox Guardian. When the guardian was awakened, Gelidus and Tepidus commanded the beast to end the conflict, and to restore peace to the planet.

When the Equinox Guardian arrived at the battleground, JADALGAS and OPALAGAN were blasting each other with Tropical and Polar energies, and turning the land around them into a wasteland. The two Gods were about to launch their final blasts of energy, when the Guardian unleashed a supernova of Elemental Energy at the two Pokemon. JADALGAS and OPALAGAN were enraged, and tried to take down the new threat to end their conflict, but the Guardian finished them off with one swoop of its Elemental Blast. After the end of the climactic war, the two Gods went back to their respective regions, and slowly disappeared into time. The Equinox Guardian, deprived of all its power, returned to the Solstiquinox Temple and vanished in a flash of light, falling into an eternal slumber. Only time can tell when another conflict will arise, and the Equinox Guardian will be re-awakened...

The Equinox Guardian is said to have the power to control the delicate balance of the Earth's climate, and this is a way for Eris, the Leader of Team Galactic, to create a new world...

Part 3- The Pokemon

There are 157 Pokemon that will premiere in Pokemon Tanzanite. Pokedex slots are almost completely filled, and some of the earlier concepts are starting to receive their official artwork and sketches, led by our official artist, Dark-Absol-King. Please enjoy the wonderful artwork that our staff has created, and comments and constructive criticism is always welcome!

Official art by Dark-Absol King, as well as some by Lilfurman.

Part 4- New Moves and Abilities

Tanzanite will feature many new Abilities and Moves in the final game, but the list is not currently organized. There will be up to as many as 150 TMs (including old ones) debuting in the project as well.

Part 5- The Isho Region

The region of Isho is very diverse, with the southern coast being tropical, the channel coast being mild and covered with a mix of forest, grassland, and mountains, and the northern island being cold and mountainous. There are 16 major establishments in Isho, with Diamopolis and Chrometech being the largest. Credits to Decypher (PokeCommunity) for the maps. :)

Part 6- The Characters

Max- the male choice for the main character. When he is the rival, he is an energetic boy who can get a little competitive, but will help the main character in some parts of the game.

Emma- the female choice for the main character. When she is the rival, she is a caring girl who tries to help the main character whenever needed. But she can get a little competetive when it comes to battles.

Professor Holly- the leading authority on Pokemon in the game. She offers the main character their first pokemon and tracks the progress of their Pokedex throughout the game. She is an expert on Pokemon evolution at the Science Institute in Diamopolis City.

Team Galactic- yes, Galactic is back and badder than ever in a new plot to create a new world. With a new Administration, and a new region to conquer, Team Galactic is bent on wreaking havoc on Isho and taking control of the Equinox Guardian.

Mercury- the first of Team Galactic's new Commanders, Mercury is a young woman with a spunky, but sometimes nasty attitude. She is a tough and experienced trainer, depsite her tendency to underestimate her enemies.

Venus- a former Galactic Grunt, Venus was given her Commander position after helping Eris break Pluto out of jail after he was arrested at Stark Mountain. She is very self-centered, with an "I'm better than you" attitude (but in a quiet way), and will take down anyone that gets in her and Team Galactic's way.

Neptune- the senior Commander of Team Galactic's new administration, as well as the most powerful. Not much is currently known about him, but he rules his squadrons with an iron fist.

Charon- the Galactic scientist makes a triumphant return as not only the organization's top scientist, but as the Adminstrator (2nd-in-Command). As the main character is busy taking on Galactic on the front lines, Pluto is secretly working a way for Eris to take control of a legendary creature known as the Equinox Guardian...

Eris- the new and mysterious leader of Team Galactic. Not much is currently known about her, but she is a cousin of Cyrus and has a clear ambition of continuing his philosophy of creating a new world, but in a new way...

Well, I like the Folklore Pokemon, it caught my eye. The storyline has an awesome layout. I like it.

Good luck with that! I hope I can see more progress!

You have some pretty cool Pokémon designs. Opalagan looks too much like Dialga for my taste, though...

Thanks for the comment, Wichu, especially coming from an expert fangame creator. :) OPALAGAN is a design of Narsilion's, and was made before Dialga came out, but it should be redesigned in the near future, once our official artist, Lilfurman, gets to it.

I have to admit that the Pokedex is our fangame's main appeal, but we are lacking on the Script Development side, due to having not yet started on the coding, etc. We are already set with RMXP for development, once we get the resources.

Here is a new treat for you PokeCommunity folks- the new artwork for the grass starter, ANOLEAF! :D

GrassStarter.png

I will leave the old image in the Pokedex alone until the full line is complete, so everyone can compare the old and new designs. ^_^

Looks great, just of interest, is this the same Tanzanite that was on the old Pokemon Online fourms?

Anyway, if you want I could help out with a proper region map, I'm quite good at making DP region maps, if you want some help, just PM me.

This is not the same Tanzanite from Pokemon Online. This Tanzanite was recently formed when Pokemon Tourmaline (thread should be in this forum section somewhere...) and Pokemon Wulfenite Chaos/Vanadinite Law (found on Pokemon Acanthite forums). The history of the project stretches back to the beginning of the year, when Pokemon Solar and Lunar was formed (not the same as the one made by Sonic_smash_down).

Thanks for your offer, and I will PM you shortly.

11/13/08 Project Update:

Fire Starters Artwork Revealed

The Fire-type starter, EMBEAR, has recieved its official artwork, as well as its evolutions URSCORCH and GRIZZLARE. But due to some issues with the official artist's Photoshop, the concepts' official coloring won't be done until at least December. So for now, enjoy these fine pieces done by our official artist Lilfurman! :)

EMBEAR - Fire Cub Pokemon - Fire
URSCORCH - Bear Pokemon - Fire
GRIZZLARE - Firestorm Pokemon - Fire/Ground

New Pokedex Entries

Several changes have been applied to the Pokedex, most notably the change in the Pokemon Pair evolutions, which were previously occupied by Zangoose and Seviper evolutions: MONGLASH and TOXICONDA. They have been replaced with evolutions of Castform and Kecleon, the famous type-changing duo that premiered in RSE. CLOUMATE, Castform's evolution, has already been completed, and we are awaiting a concept for Kecleon's evolution.

GARBAD has replaced CLOUMATE's former slot, and is an evolution of Muk. Other new concepts include the BIKEY line (based on keys), and WUFFIGHT (combat dogs :P).

Enjoy the new updates! ^_^
