I editted the team a bit. Still not the best, but it works, I guess. Also, I changed something with the dialogue. Normally it would be heard after catching Kyogre, but that might be done after the Battle Frontier, and that would be bad, so yeah.

When Maci introduced the free rival, he did ask for competitive movesets. However, as stated in his rival information post back on page 15, EVs and Natures are only required for at least the last 2 encounters. The team that the rival has should build up to a competitively viable team by standards such as those on Smogon throughout the encounters.

So for the first encounter or so its ok to have something like:

Bleh. Not really a lot of variety between encounters, as three of the four moves in this moveset are learned by level-independent means. See Encounter 4 for my thoughts on the subject.

If this team didn't really need something that could deal with the Steel-Type reliably, I'd still be using Umbreon and would be relying entirely on Veloss for dealing with the Fighting type. There is no choice item here, mainly because I think it's too early in the plot list to rely on it. Future Sight was taken over Psybeam because I said so.

Gym (on entry): "Oh, hey there, [Player]! The Gym leaders are all offering Rematches! Are you here to have a rematch with Casey? Aw, who am I kidding, of course you are!

Hey, you've got that look in your eyes. Do you want to have a warmup match while we wait? I've got a funny-colored Snorlax now, too."

Ice Beam gets preference when the attack is neutral to the enemy, especially if Hans Baton Passed some Nasty Plots to Tamako. Toxic and Softboiled are for Walling purposes.

Snorley the Differently-Colored Snorlax. Oh boy. He is somewhat less reliant on Chappi for dealing with ghosts than he was in older versions, but they still chase him away. Body Slam is the main move, Earthquake and Crunch are for type coverage, and Self-Destruct is for a last-ditch effort. Immunity was kept over Thick Fat, even though Smogon recommends Thick Fat over Immunity, as Poison and Toxic would force a Self-Destruct sooner I would like with a Last-Ditch Move. Granted, a burn would be more dangerous because of the added cut to physical attack strength, but there is no way to outright prevent a burn with Snorlax, and a Rawst Berry only works once.

Hime-copy: "Umm..."

Himeko: "NOW! Sorry, [Player], I'll explain later. Meet me at the abandoned house in Estrella City, I'll explain there. If I remember, that is."

(The three of them exit. Advice Guy and Casey come out and assume their usual positions)

Player appears outside the Pokemon Centre as usual, Himeko is standing nearby.

Himeko: "Well, you win some and lose some, I guess. I'm sure you'll be able to handle Casey, though. Why do I get the feeling I've forgotten something."

(A second Himeko walks out of the Pokemon Center and bumps into Player)

Hime-copy: "Oh! S-sorry! Umm, you haven't seen me around have you?"

Himeko: "Oh, I must have forgot to end the copy spell..."

(The ! appears over her head.)

"OH CRAP! Hime-copy! HIDE!"

Hime-copy: "... Yes, Himeko-san."

Himeko: "I'm sorry, [Player], but I can't explain now. Meet me at the abandoned house in Estrella City, I'll explain there. If I remember, that is." (Follows after Hime-copy. Daichi walks up from a random direction.)

Daichi: "I told her not to do that today, but did she listen to me? Nope. If she gets our memories erased for this... (He follows after them.)

I'm also a magic-user. Daichi has known about it pretty much the whole time. I'm a guinea Grumpig of sorts for the Princess of the Magic Kingdom, Erika. Here, let me demonstrate.

Hime-copy: "Hello again, [Player]-san."

Himeko: The problem with you finding out is that nobody was really supposed to find out. Erika's dad said that everyone's memories would be erased if anyone found out after Daichi did, and I don't want to find out if he was bluffing."

"He wasn't bluffing, but the situation has changed."

(Erika (Looks like Himeko, only with longer hair and no ribbon, and a dress) appears): "[Player], I must apologise, but we've been watching you ever since you fought Himeko back in Hollybark Town. Your heart is kind, and you seem to be able to keep a secret. I would love to allow for you to be in on the secret of everything without any hassle, but the new law states that I have to at least try to erase your memories. Himeko, I will also make an attempt to erase yours, if only for show."

Himeko: "...if you erase my memories..."

Hime-copy: "Do not worry, Himeko-san. Once we merge, even if your memories are erased, you will remember everything."

Erika: "Yes, this is the case. But I only need to appear to attempt to erase [Player]'s memories, and if the attempt fails then [Player] will be invited to the same status that you currently enjoy, Himeko - that of Honorary Citizen of the Magic Kingdom.

But an attempt must be an attempt, and this works out since I wanted to try my team against your new one. Himeko, Hime-copy, [Player], would you object to a team battle in which me and Hime-copy are on one team, and [Player] and Himeko are on another?"

Himeko: "I don't mind."

Hime-copy: "I would be honored to fight alongside you, Erika-sama."

To be honest, Evelyn is now an Espeon for type coverage against fighting. Signal Beam wears down Erika's Psychic types, though, and normally also gives her an edge over Darks that don't see it coming. To be completely honest, I despise the use of Choice Specs, because most teams have at least something to resist any given move. But this is what Smogon recommended, and if Evelyn starts running Signal Beam, the only problem potential is from Lucario... who just happens to know Crunch.

I did get this movelist from Smogon, it's the Substitute+Encore set.

I'm heading out for [Random Location that's still in the region but also ridiculously out of the way and obscenely annoying to reach normally] to train. I'll see ya!"

(Himeko dispels Hime-copy and leaves. The house is now completely empty.)

Note: If you go to Random Location that's Still in the Region but is also ridiculously out of the way and obscenely annoying to reach normally, you will find Himeko there. Asleep. If you talk to her:

Other Note: Where Erika is from, those are their normal colorations. Really, the only conflict between regular Alternate Coloration and Erika's Alt-Color Lucario is the 0 Defense IVs - which is why I'm making this disclaimer. Snorley, however, is a genuine Shiney Snorlax.

Hans the Baton Passer. I have no personal experience in running an Ambipom, so here's what Smogon has to say about the subject.

"Nasty Plot is the wheels behind the set and keeps Ambipom moving forward with attacks or Baton Pass. Even with Technician, Ambipom would have no reason to use this set if it didn't have Nasty Plot in its movepool. Baton Pass allows Ambipom to pass Nasty Plot boosts to other recipients. Baton Pass can also help scout for switches if you need a quick switch as well.

The main STAB attack is Swift, an attack that never misses, which can come in handy if you ever fight a Pokemon that relies on you missing your attacks (Cacturne with Hippopotas support, for example). Swift also receives a handy Technician boost giving it 90 Base Power, 135 total when factoring in STAB. The other attack is there for coverage, although Water Pulse is the preferred option, allowing Ambipom to hit Rock- and Ground-types for super effective damage."

We are entering into the final and most fun part of the project. So far we have done Gyms, the Elite 4, and the Rivals, and all that is left to do is the Battle Frontier. It has been a long project, but a great one, and I am sure that these next few rounds will be great. If you are interested in participating in the project (which I hope you are, it is a lot of fun), then I would ask that you please read through this entire post; it answers a lot of questions about the process. Frontier Information

The Battle Frontier will be a 5 Round Process that is similar to the way Gyms were done in this project. There are 5 different parts of the frontier:

• Battle Factory

• Battle Tower

• Battle Stadium

• Battle Palace

Each round has a different requirement for the number of battles to reach the Frontier Brain and the levels of the trainers and Brain. There are two Rounds for each section of the Frontier.

Now as you probably can deduce from the levels, the Battle Frontier is extremely challenging. The reason there aren't level ranges is because everything on the Trainers team is the same level. Each Frontier Brain has a different battle style.

• Battle Frontier Trainers: All the trainers have the same style. A 3v3 Battle with no legendary pokemon allowed.

• Battle Factory: This Frontier Brain is a 3v3 Battle.

• Battle Tower: This Frontier Brain is a 3v3 Battle.

• Battle Stadium: This Frontier Brain is a Standard 6v6 Battle

• Battle Palace: This Frontier Brain is a 2v2 Double Battle.

• Battle Chateau: This Frontier Brain is a 6v2 Double Battle. The Brain uses 2 very high leveled pokemon.

In each different section of the frontier, you fight under different conditions.

• Battle Factory: Before beginning the Battle Factory, you select 6 Rental Pokemon. The top 3 pokemon in your menu are used to fight. Your pokemon are healed before each fight.

• Battle Tower: You fight under normal conditions and your pokemon are healed before each fight.

• Battle Stadium: In the Stadium you are offered 6 Random Rental Pokemon. You can either take the whole set or use 3 of the Rental Pokemon and use three of your own .Your pokemon are healed before each fight.

• Battle Palace: You fight under normal conditions, but your pokemon are not healed in between fights. You have to buy Frontier Approved Gear from the Frontier Shops which can be used in these Battles

• Battle Chateau: You can use any pokemon in your possession while taking on the Chateau, including legendary pokemon. When you fight the Frontier Brain, you challenge them with a party of 6 vs a party of 2 in a Double Battle.

Team Strategy: Leone's team is hyper offensive and has the goal of achieving a Garchomp sweep. Tyranitar leads off the battle with Sand Stream triggering Sand Veil's 20% Evasion. Tyranitar reliably gets off Stealth Rock with Focus Sash helping and acts as an Anti-Lead to many popular leads. Empoleon is a sweeper that can switch into and eliminate many of Garchomp's counters. With an Agility under it's belt, it can sweep of its own accord as well. Garchomp is a vicious sweeper, and a +2 Outrage with a 10 level boost makes it the fastest Dragon with ridiculous power.

For Frontier Brains, competitive movesets, pictures, and team strategies are required. The rule of a "star" pokemon is true for every Frontier Brain except the Battle Chateau. I'm going to note something here story-wise; Round 2 of the Battle Frontier is only available after defeating Storm twice. You get a ticket to the Battle Frontier after defeating him once, and after you defeat him twice and you defeat the Battle Frontier once, the Frontier Brains will be willing to fight you again.

This Salamence actually pairs well with a mixed Infernape since they weaken each others' counters, and also enjoys the benefits it gets from a Magnezone killing Steel-types.

Description: This bulky Roserade was initally created by the genius known as Dark_Azelf. This Roserade is bulky enough to take a few hits, and can either Recover off the damage with the NaturalRest combo or use the opportunity to set up Spikes. If a team also does not like Toxic Spikes, Roserade can easily Absorb them. The common Rapid Spinners of OU also find it hard to come in on this set, as Forretress hates Hidden Power Fire, and Starmie is quickly killed by Energy Ball, allowing Roserade to set up Spikes again. However, Starmie can choose to Ice Beam Roserade, which is why something that can outspeed Starmie and kill it in one move makes a great choice to back up Roserade. An example is Choice Scarf Tyranitar.

Description: Rotom-H makes a great supporting Pokemon, thanks to its 3 immunities and several resists. Rotom-H is a notorious support Pokemon as well because of Discharge, which can paralyze Pokemon it can hit, crippling them for other sweepers to take advantage of, and Will-o-Wisp, which cripples physical attackers to the point where sweeping becomes very difficult. Rotom-H appreciates anything that can take out Tyranitar or Gengar, its two worst enemies. A Choiced Scarf Tyranitar can take out both with Crunch and Superpower, and a Jolteon and an Infernape combined can also wipe them both out.

Entering the Factory:

A gear is placed in the middle of the battle field. However, 5 of the 10 cogs are missing from the gear. For each trainer that is defeated, a cog will be added to the gear. For each trainer that defeats you, a cog will be removed from the gear. This method will allows you to face up to 10 different trainers- one for each cog. Keep in mind that the player will start battling Cog Trainer 6. When Cog Trainer 10 is defeated, the gear will rotate away from the battlefield, revealing a ladder that will lead to Factory Head Il Duce.

Strategy: This team attempts to build around Gliscor, who hopes to break opposing stall teams and wear them down with Taunt and Toxic. Meanwhile, it gets support with Tyranitar taking its Ice weakness due to a strong Special Defense and Gyarados easily taking its Water weakness. Gyarados can use the advantage of Bulky Waters that have been worn down with Toxic to set up some Dragon Dances and sweep. Anything that Gyarados can't touch can be taken care of by Tyranitar.

Closing Speech: You only have 1 cog in the gear, but you started at 5. That could be a disappointment, but at least you didn't get knocked out! Here, I'll place a gear in for you.

Strategy: This team is built around making room for a Jolteon to sweep. Jolteon comes out at the beginning, and can switch to Starmie, who can take an Earthquake if needed. Starmie can then Recover and proceed to eliminate Ground types that wall Jolteon, and Lucario will help out by clearing out the special walls that stand in Jolteon's path.

Victory Dialogue: That's why I know how to battle here so well!

Defeat Dialogue: My knowledge of this place really doesn't help if I can't battle...

Closing Speech: This is why Workers don't usually battle, they lack the practice time that most skilled Trainers put in. Here, take a cog to place in the gear.

ooOppositeDay! It's been a while since you've submitted to the project. Glad to have you back for the Battle Chateau round, you'll give some huge competition as always. But you have to watch out for me that round too; I already have my submission made =P. Raekuul, why don't you do a collaboration with someone who has a competitive brain during the Battle Frontier? You could make a good storyline and they could keep you on a competitive track. By the way, the Battle Factory is officially open for submissions; I'm interested to see them =].

Well, looks like I'm going to have some steep competition this time around. But don't worry, with my ideas, I'm going to totally re-invent the idea of the Battle Frontier. I have a pretty good story worked out, that expands the Free Rival thing at the end, but isn't necessarily affected by it, in case I lose. I will be entering all 5, and unlike what I did with the others, I'm not holding anything back. Prepare for my masterpiece.

Even if I don't win, I'll still make a show out of it.
