Alice: He said it lead the way to a powerful pokemon in the Wishing Chamber, but when we tried to go into it, we were beaten by the wild pokemon.

The look back at the project is going to be held on Saturday. I'll be PMing everyone who was involved with the project to come for the events. Some of the events are competitions to see who can make an in-game event in a set amount of time, some are polls to see which are the best/favorite submissions of the project and I will be linking to all of the submissions which won. Obviously Zeta Dimentio won this round, as I withdrew my entry after seeing his. Spread the word to people who have actively participated in the project/won a round to come on Saturday, the events begin early. There will be a few hours I can't chaperone it (10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. EST), but I'll be here to check in hourly on the events besides that. A Look Back at the Project

For the past 6 months, with over 50 people participating (all of which I am PMing), we have created the most successful Create-A-Gym Leader projects ever. There are 26 pages of fantastic gyms and I wish all of them could be a part of the final draft of the game. Initially this project was only going to last until November 14th, and was only going to make eight Gym Leaders and four Elite 4 members with a Champion by me. However, we not only went on to make Rivals but a Battle Frontier as well. This has been a really fun experience for me and I hope that all of you had as much fun as I did! This look back will have two parts, polls on what the favorite gym was (out of every submitted gym). Also, throughout the week, there will be various day-long events, which will all be covered in the next post. Yeah, we're going out with a bang!

There were amazing gyms submitted in the first round of the project. The gyms were all challenging as I wanted them to be and very nicely presented. At this early stage of the project, I was still choosing the winners, and I was torn between the four of them, but ultimately decided to go with Skip Shot's great gym. It's funny to me that Skippy, Opposite Day, and Charmageddon all competed in this round, as they stayed with the project until the Battle Frontier (in Opposite Day's and Skippy's cases) and until the Rivals (in Charmageddon's case).

Hey, I got my gym in as the first one! Awesome! Thanks for letting me help out with your hack Maci. I'll be browsing around here quite often, mainly because I'm interested in how this turns out. I may throw in a gym submission around here and there, but I'm really saving up for the Elite 4, where I have some very good choices picked out from my old fanfic... Anyways, enjoy this project!

Another great round. If you look at any of those submissions, you will see that all are amazing. Remember, until Round 5, the decision of who won was still in my hands, and I had a tough choice to make here. Initially I loved Slls81's gym because it looked extremely challenging, but on review, I realized that they all had very challenging fully evolved pokemon to offer. Ultimately, I went with Opposite Day's gym for two reasons; A. It had a great puzzle and in-depth detail others didn't have, and B. It had good typing with Skippy's Water Gym. This round introduced Eos Aduro who also stayed with us until the Battle Frontier rounds.

This was certainly a prolific round, and it was one of my favorites. Any one of these gyms would have been an excellent choice for the hack and they are all great. This round was when the idea for rivals popped into my head; Killer95's Beauty Gym gave me the idea of making a Contest Rival for beauty, and after this I started planning out my next phase beyond the Elite 4. Eos pulled out all the stops to win, and he definitely deserved it. Funny Side Note: Until the Elite 4, I was convinced his name was Eos Dauro.

A great round for gyms. Many new people from last round participated in this round, but ultimately I gave the win to Ghostly Phoenix. Their gym was on par with Eos Aduro's submission (which was the runner up), but the typing worked better with Psychic. Ghostly Phoenix never posted for the project again =/.

One of my favorite rounds of the project. Syrynn and OppositeDay stepped the quality of this project up hugely. There was an unwritten rule that to win, you must top the round before you, and Syrynn and OppositeDay both did that. Because of this round, every round after it had to improve to meet and exceed the expectations I had due to this round. Syrynn only went on to participate one more time in the project, but his submissions are some of my favorites. At this point, the winner was no longer in my hands; it was a Bold vote poll, and Opposite Day was selected as the winner.

This was my favorite round of the project. Syrynn's submission for this round was my favorite of the whole project; it was well formatted, ridiculously creative, and a good read. All the other submissions were fantastic, but in the poll Syrynn dominated. This round was the first in which Zeta Dimentio participated. He didn't win this one, so I like to think he was luring everyone into a false sense of security...just waiting for the Battle Frontier. I'd recommend checking them all out, they are all fantastic, but Syrynn's is a must-see. This was unfortunately Syrynn's last entry into the project =/.

This was a good round, different in result from the others in that we had two winners. Skippy and Opposite Day tied in the poll and instead of having me break the tie, they decided to pull a Saffron City and have two Gym Leaders, and they built a whole story around it that was later incorporated into the Rival encounters. I believe this was Slls81's last entry into the project, which is unfortunate because I always liked his gyms and they never got picked =/.

This was a great round. If you look at any of those gyms you will see how the project grew from the first gym to this gym. All of those gyms have incredible quality. I need to apologize to Azure here though, I was rather unfair in not putting him in the poll. His gym was incredible but lacked pictures. I had said from the beginning that no pictures = no poll, but he hadn't known, so I unfairly made an example of him. He very well might have won with a great gym like that! This round was Zeta Dimentio's first win. SethMetal REALLY stepped up his game; compare his first submission to this one and the improvement is huge. A great first eight rounds, but the project isn't even half over!

I decided to review the Elite 4 as a whole as opposed to round by round. The submissions are all fantastic. Just look at the quality of these submissions and you'll see that by the time we got to the Elite 4, everyone knew that they had to bring their A game. The Elite 4 was a hard process; I was away frequently during the polls, but if you look at the results you'll see they are incredible. SethMetal37 pulled out his first win against veterans like Skippy and Zeta. Eos came back after a long break to beat Skippy in Round 2. The big winner ultimately was Skippy; he won 2/4 of the rounds. I claimed the Champion round from the beginning, and I like to think that I did a good job with it. I personally liked the gym process better, but the Elite 4 was fun. Next on our list was the rivals, and that was the an amazing experience to host as well.

Again, I'm choosing to review the whole section as opposed to individual rounds. With such big requirements, there were fewer submissions each round, but submissions of extreme quality. The rival rounds had amazing stories, organization, and challenge behind them. Raekuul became a big part of the project during these rounds, and though he never won, he influenced everyone by bringing something new to the table with every submission. I'd recommend looking through all of the rivals; they are all fantastic. We now move on to the final part of the project; the Dimentio Frontier!

You probably can see why I'm calling it the Dimentio frontier. He won every single position in the Battle Frontier. The first two rounds gave him good competition, the second one resulted in a 3 to 3 tie that resulted in a public revote. After that, everyone realized that Zeta Dimentio was an unstoppable force in the Battle Frontier and we had no immovable object. You should read his submissions, not just because they are fantastic representations of the project, but also because they are really good reads; his stories are extremely well crafted, formatted, the whole nine yards. Amazing job, Zeta!

Week-Events Schedule

As promised, this is the schedule for the events of the next few days. If you had any participation in the project, then you are welcome to join in with the events. These are just fun events that help celebrate the closing of the most extensive Create-A-Region project ever.

April 3rd (Saturday): Bold Vote Poll on the favorite submission of the project. You are by no means required to look at all of the submissions, just look at a few and pick out your favorite!
April 4th (Sunday): Create-A-Pokemon-Event. There are many legendary pokemon that are not yet obtainable through the quests we have laid out so far, they are: Mew, Celebi, Shaymin, Shaymin-S, Darkrai, Ho-Oh, Lugia, Manaphy, Cresselia, Heatran, Moltres, Zapdos, Articuno, Raikou, Entei, Suicune, Latias, Latios, Azelf, Mesprit, and Uxie. Make an event or quest involved to catch one of them. This event extends into April 5th.
April 5th (Monday): Extension of Create-A Pokemon-Event.
April 6th (Tuesday): Extension of Create-A Pokemon-Event.
April 7th (Wednesday): Closing ceremony, I'll give awards to people who were most prolific, had the most accepted, were the most helpful users, etc. Don't miss this if you were involved!

I'm really excited to see what people come up with for the Create-A-Pokemon-Event, and I'll provide a template for you later today so that you can begin working on it. I'm doing a Mew and Celebi event, so is it possible that you could substitute Mew out for Manaphy or Shaymin? I don't want events to be in competition; the point of Create-A-Pokemon-Event is to fill up as many Legendary Pokemon events as possible so that I have to do very little creatively speaking =]. I'm going to make a sign up sheet for the legendaries to avoid drama. I'll leave Mew blank until I hear your response.

Good, I was wondering whether the PM got sent. I forgot that Latios was obtainable, thanks for the reminder =]. Also thanks for taking Shaymin. Since I'm basing this off of a Generation 3 game, phase-changing pokemon don't exist outside of Castform. That means that Shaymin-S and Shaymin will have different events. I signed you up for Shaymin because it is more along the lines of Mew, but if you'd rather have Shaymin-S, tell me and I'll fix it. Don't forget to vote on your favorite submission of the project by the way! I searched through 26 pages to link people to every submission the project had. My favorite was Syrynn's Dragon Gym for Gym 6.

EDIT: Just saw your post Opposite Day, nice to see you back in the thread again! I'll reserve those pokes for you now =]. I think the Create-A-Pokemon-Event is a fun way to end the project; it lets everyone be creative in a non-competitive way.

That makes sense. I was going to ask about that. I'm fine with normal Shaymin, personally. Unless I have a Giratina event, which I won't, I don't need Shaymin-S.

My favorite is probably... Eos Aduro's and Skip Shot's Free Rival. I really like the storyline, even if it did somewhat contradict Ezekiel's team, but I think I got around it.

Yeah, I think that Syrynn's gym is probably everyones, including mine, favourite by now. Man, that gym could probably top everything I'd ever dish up. (I feel like one of the old persons talking about "WHEN I WAS YOUNG WE HAD 150 POGEYMANS AND WE WERE CONTENT ABOUT IT", since I really didn't do anything after I posted that seventh last gym... XD)

Haha, Syrynn's gym is even amazing when looking back at all the amazing Rival and Battle Frontier submissions. I think its also that nobody else had done anything like him before that, so watching someone make such a big leap in quality was cool. And Zeta I thought you already had a Giratina event in your Battle Frontier? The last thing, or is that Giratina not catchable. Also, I added Kyogre to the list as I don't think it was ever mentioned in the winning posts.

I did, it was the last event. That's why I'm not putting one up. XD. But since the event I'm writing actually takes place before the Elite 4, I might put in some foreshadowing to it. Giratina's shadow (Plot wise, anyway, the real Giratina made it an actual Giratina before getting sealed again) is catchable.
