Ok then, heres my current status.

I picked torchic as my starter so rival fights are easier.
I saved who ever the professor is (forgot name)
Fought May, won, got my pokeballs, and ran off to petalburg.
Fought 1 trainer on the way to petalburg to save some fights for shroomish.
Watched Wally catch his Ralts.
Scott talked to me about me being a crappy trainer (:P) and now I am outside petalburg woods.

Played for about an hour and a half, haven't found any surskits yet- didn't save

Caught a shroomish easy catch, deposited torchic, leveled to level 9 and decided to have 2 brelooms instead of 1, went to petalburg woods to catch another, got poisioned but caught another shroomish after paralyzing and getting to red HP (used 3 pokeballs O.o) as i walked out of the woods, lady cindy saw me and fought me, i had a poisioned shroomish with 4 hp, and a parlayzed shroomish with 5 hp, but i got through and survived. About to continiue through the woods.

Got HM01 (cut) taught it to torchic to be a Cut, Rock Smash, Stregnth, and Dig (not really a HM) HM slave. Beat May after i saved peeko and got the goods back. Torkoal might have been a challenge, but all he did was use curse over and over again. Got the Pokenav and went on to dewford. Im in granite cave now. On a unrelated note, the "hip" guy in dewford's phrase was "Tasty Heroine" any way you interprete that (drug or female hero), it is very wrong...

My attempts at Brawly proved unsuccessful. Focus punch is always a OHKO so im training in granite cave now. Oh and off the topic again a quote from a person in the house of the trends "I cant imagine what life would be like without tasty heroine!"

when he using focus punch use physical attacks to throw off its focus thats how i beat norman usually when slaking trys to use focus punch
also with brawly use stun spore and leech seed then mach punch him to death or if no breloom yet use headbutt or summit
