    EVs: 252 Attack / 252 Speed / 4 HP
    Nature: Adamant
    Ability: Super Luck
    ~ Swords Dance
    ~ Sucker Punch
    ~ Superpower
    ~ Psycho Cut

This set owns almost all walls in UU.

Also there are better pokemon for Perish Song, and I don't really think stall works in doubles.

    Marowak, need some help

Okay for my marowak, i have a couple questions.
Here's what i have so far:

    Marowak: bone club
    Careful nature
    252 hp 252 attack 6 sp def
    1. Brick break.
    2. Thunder Punch.
    3. Fire Punch.
    4. Earthquake.

Im thinking of replacing brick break with Stone edge or swords dance. Is marowak an effective sweeper for swords dance? any comments would be appreciated, thanks

Please post individual moveset questions in the right thread.

Marowak should always be Adamant Nature. Swords Dance can replace Brick Break because it's pretty useless. Replace Thunderpunch with Stone Edge.

Marowak isn't an effective sweeper by itself because it's too slow. If you really want to use one, you need one of two things.

A Pokemon with Baton Pass and a Speed Boosting move/ability

    OR

    Trick Room.

If you are using Trick Room, you need a Brave Nature to make Marowak as slow as possible.

ahh because i was thinking of using it to replace my hippowdon.
    Hippowdon
    sp def 252 attack 252 hp 6
    stone edge
    earthquake
    crunch
    stealthrock

why would i replace thunderpunch with stone edge? id be vulnerable to water then. would trick room be an effective strat?

  • Because, a neutral STAB Earthquake hits water types equal to a super effective Thunderpunch. Thunderpunch on say Vaporeon hits for 150 power, while STAB'd Earthquake too hits for 150 power. Thunderpunch only kinda helps for Gyarados but Gyarados is already hit hard by Stone Edge. Earthquake + Stone Edge is resisted only by Breloom, Bronzong and Flygon in OU and all are uncommon.

tl;dr: Thunderpunch Marowak is bad, run Swords Dance/Earthquake/Stone Edge/Fire Punch.

And yeah, Trick Room is an effective strategy.

There are plenty of Pokemon who can use Trick Room. Just do a search. Go for the ones who are very slow and have good defenses, like Bronzong, Uxie, Dusknoir, Slowbro, etc.

what fang should go on aerodactyl? (ice, thunder, fire)

i put thunder to kill enemy water types but now i think fire for steel types.

Fire is probably the best because it hits Bronzong and Skarmory, Stone Edge does more damage to Water-types than Thunder Fang anyway.

    i didn't even realized ambipom learned t-wave till just now ^^;

anywho, you want max speed and attack for EVs and make sure its ability is always technician. your paraflinch combo is only gonna work once though :T so it might be better running something over t-wave like Taunt for support. you fake em out first, taunt to prevent SR, and u-turn the hell out, low kick > double hit so your not completely walled by steel types, as both are VERY common in UU and OU

Who said steels were common in UU? There are like four good steels in UU namely Steelix, Registeel, Aggron and the rare Magneton. And Steel usage in OU is gonna go down now with Salamence going to uber.

who said they weren't? Maybe now with salamence gone steels can come in and dominate meta with stall tactics? im certainly not predicting the way meta is changing but he's still gonna get walled by steels anyways

  • Erm, Salamence gone means less usage of Steels, because mostly steels were used to tank Outrage's from Salamence. In UU steels were rare and will be rare because of only four good ones.
