Sorry to say, it doesn't work like that. You can't "snag" or "claim" the spot. The spot is closed and untouchable until those big magical red letters asking who wants the next two appear. From there, it goes to the first to post their selection. All others after that first one have to repost next time the message prompts them to. It's basically a first come first serve thing, though she never runs out. :)
