2nd update on Sapphire:
  • Evolved Light (forgot starter was immune) and taught him Secret Power, Rock Tomb and Dig.
  • Beat Archie and then Flannery.
  • After catching Floater the Trapinch in the Desert, Poofy reached max happiness, so she evolved into Breloom, and I taught her Mach Punch with a Heart Scale.
  • Made my way back to Petalburg, and saved in the gym.
Screens:
Spoiler:

Norman is up next, then it's Surf time.

Here finally a different update from me. lmao

Player: lol
Game: Ruby
Badges: 1

Sprites are overrated. Not bothering. Maybe later. But umm. Seedot is annoying. I wish I didn't pick it now. :( And yes, I am going to try to make a team of Pokemon that are only Shadow in Colo/XD, aside from my starter.

Muddy / Marshtomp (m) lv. 18
Water Gun, Mud Shot, Tackle, Growl

omg / Seedot (f) lv. 14
Shadow Bide, Harden, Growth, Nature Power

Slim Marz / Skitty (m) lv. 12
Shadow Growl, Tackle, Tail Whip, Attract

I agree. Seedot's a pain in a neck to train since you have to use Bide to defeat them until level 13 (except in areas where Nature Power doesn't damage).

Anyways! Team update for Ruby version!

In a normal run you can teach it Bullet Seed, but that's obviously not applicable here. That one of the reasons I went with Shroomish instead of Seedot.

Well...I am really far behind. I gotta get a lot of updates done today. I'll catch the six Shadow Pokemon that the Hexagon Bros. have. Another quick question. Later on, getting pokemon to be purified is really gonna be a pain, so can you purify unused Shadow Pokemon to use for the Purify Chamber? As in pokemon you have that are underleveled and don't use anymore.

Ok well yeah first post :PP

I've been doing this steadily on Emerald and when I say that it means I procrastinated and sped through yesterday and I'm at Mauville, here's a shot at my team:

Lvl 26
256a.png

Bulk Up | Double Kick | Rock Tomb | Ember

Combusken has been good from the start, it had a late evolution at the 3rd May Battle but then it got better with Bulk Up + Double Kick. Combusken helped me win the 3rd Gym.

Lvl 22
285a.png
@ Miracle Seed
Shadow Absorb | Mega Drain | Headbutt | Leech Seed

I really want to purify Shroomish since I had to waste a slot on Mega Drain since Absorb is to weak. Shroomish helped me against Roxanne.

Lvl 24
276a.png
@Everstone
Shadow Peck | Wing Attack | Focus Energy | Quick Attack

Tailows are top tier, no questions asked.

Other Pokemon | Heal Slaves

Good question, but yeah, that's fine. What I've been doing, is using my Pokemon til they get to the end of their shadow gauge and then boxing and swapping out for something else. That way, when I do snag everything, I can just take my Pokemon en masse to be purified, with only a few of them actually going to need a lot of effort in it. So I definitely recommend that as you go through the game, especially a game like XD with so many Shadow Pokemon. You'll be happy you did in the end.

Yeah, I decided to be lazy with posting the team so I just used Mac VBA's screen capture mode :> And normally Ziggy and Electrike would have nicknames despite being slaves, but I decided to follow the fact that you can't nickname Shadow Pokemon in Colo/XD until after you've purified them. /though Ziggy might be on max happiness by now... And out of the ones with max happiness (that is, all except the HM Slaves), my Skarmory is the only one who hasn't lost his "Shadow" move yet (that being Peck).

Edit: OH, and before I forget, these are the two Pokemon I'm planning on adding to complete the team:

Okay more updates :V

Just beat Flannery, so I have 4 badges. I think Tailow or Shroomish might have max happiness so I might check that soon.

Bulk Up | Double Kick | Rock Tomb | Ember

Moveset is the same but why fix something when it isn't broken?

285a.png

Lvl 30 @ Miracle Seed
Shadow Absorb | Mega Drain | Headbutt | Leech Seed

Again same, I think I'm going to evolve this when I get Spore, even if my happiness is already maxed out by then.

Shadow Peck | Wing Attack | Endeavor | Quick Attack

Where's the Soothe Bell :<

Soothe Bell is in Slateport! Show the lady in the Fan Club a Pokemon that you have a decent friendship with and you'll get it. :)

Tackle, Growl, Mud Shot, Water Gun

Sydot / Seedot (f)
Shadow Bide, Harden, Synthesis, Nature Power

Slim Marz / Skitty (m)
Shadow Growl, Tackle, Assist, Sing

Sniff me / Nosepass (m)
Shadow Tackle, Rock Throw, Thunder Wave, Harden

Second update for the Ruby Version!

Haruka.png

Badges obtained: 6
Pokemon Purified: Seedot (Level 25), Poochyena (Level 25), Ralts (Level 27), Aron (Level 32)

Took long enough to get most of my team (except HM slaves) to max Happiness. I'm currently at Mosdeep City. It all comes down to the wire when it comes to teams. I need to get Leaf Stone to evolve Goblin to Shiftry, and Rockbeast needs about 6 more levels to evolve into Aggaron.

Spr_3r_274.png

Goblin/Nuzleaf
Gender: Male

Ok, well I beat Norman and no team update since it's the same team and movesets. But I actually have a question. I'm a little stumped on what my final team will be, as you know I have a Combusken, Shroomish and Tailow. I was thinking of adding a Waimer and a Magnemite to my team, but that that leaves me with one more Pokemon.

Should I add: Regirock, Regice, Registeel, Rayquaza or Xatu?
