what does non-redis mean?
Non Distributable?
if so just curious as to how you would be able to prevent someone from trading it?
as once its traded it belongs to that person

Non-redistrutable. We can't prevent you, but generally, traders have some sort of honor to make sure they don't trade, and if I notice you are trading it, I will blacklist you.

1) In rder to prevent people fro going elsewhere to get the same pokemon.
2) In order to keep unique pokemon from going all over the place and making them easy to obtain. Smogon does it quite a bit/
