Scyzor in competetive batling???

Hey guys.
I was wondering, since i'm probably going to buy the DS and D or P i was wondering about your thoughts on a Scyzor in competetive batling?

With attacks like:

Slash/Metal Claw (or whatever is best among the D/P attacks, since i dont know them yet)
Sword Dance
Metal Defence (or is it Iron Defence...?) or Double Team for the third one
and any old attack that i think is the good stuff.

I was thinking it could max out it's agility or defence until it was invulnerable then do the same thing for the attack, and start picking off the other guy's pokemon. It works a charm on the elite 4 etc in my leaf green but then again competetive batleing isnt exactly lile playing against the game...

Does anyone see this moveset as unrealistic. particularly because it might not last until it can max out it's atak and def/agility?

PS and if you think i am albert ienstien and why didn't you think of that? just always think of me when your powning everyone else's lvl 100s with an invincible scyzor :)

252-attack, 126-speed, 126-defense, 6-HP
Swords Dance
Agility
Quick Attack
X-Scissor

This is a good set for a scizor

isnt Agility a speed raising thing? what's the good of getting the first move in if you get wiped out? wouldnt double team be beter so you dnt get hit at all?
And what is this X scissor you speak of? is it a crazy powerful atak?

Scizor has one heck of a weakness tto fire and it's speed is the only thing that detracts from it.

Scizor can be a sweeper if you train it right though.....

252 evs in atk and the rest in def and sp.def.
go jolly for a speed boost since no scizor should have sp.atks.

here is the recomended moveset by me....

Scizor@shell bell(restores 1/8th of what you inflict)
Night Slash(Psy pokes)
Brick Break
Agility/Swords Dance(your preference)
X-Sciscors(stab bug move with surprising damage)

Really, this pokemon can only be walled by Moltres or Charizard.

hmm ok i understand that. but why brick break? isnt that some crappy move for stoping light screen? i thought it didnt do any damage...

Wow, you really need to brush up on your pokemon buddy. Speed is one of the most important thimgs there is to a battle, and Brick Break is good as it wipes out Rock, Steel and Normal. It's always good to have stat raising moves.

yeh i'm a bit behind on the times :) still just figuring out there is such a thing as batling other ppl. brunt force has always worked up until now, i've only just started using stat moves a wile ago, and there is limited usage in the game.

Lol, not in competetive battling brute force won't work. You need an extremely good strat to win, with a sweeper, a wall, and a speed demon.

are bugs actualy any good? i no they have a good shot against grass, but do ppl use em?

Yanmega is an absolute champion, heracross is a great sweeper, Scizor is an overall good pokemon, Forretress is a fantastic wall, ans there are many other bugs that are real good.

Ok how bout another question while i'm sitting here doing nothing. is a wall a pokemon that can sit there and take heeps of damage? would scyzor be a wall if he wasnt hit at all? or a pkmn with wonder guard?

...Double team and moves that raise evasion are abnned in Online play (against other people)

My Scizor is:

31 Iv's in Attk.Def.Speed.Sp.Def (still not that fast though with speed)

Scizor@The berry that cures burns i forget
X-Scissor STAb Boost
Swords Dance (2 in and i can wipe a pure fire out with x-Scissor
Iron Head (Flinches alot)
Night Slash (Useful if someone pulls out a will-o-wispin ghost type)

256 Ev's in Attack and Defense
Not really fast
a flamethrower could probably kill me

P.s I have a Foretress with 31 Iv's in Def and Sp.def (All that time spent breeding Aggghghh

Selfdestruct ( a little present for when im almost dead)
Fourth move undecided (Probably Substitute if it can be learned

Why would double team be banned?
Meh it's probably cos of sore loosers who cant face scyzor's all mighty evasiveness!

Scyther > Scizor, although with Stealth Rock around, Scyther drops out rather quickly

Double Team is banned because your either forced to use low power always accurate moves (Aerial Ace, Shockwave etc) or rely on luck to even hit the opponent

haha lol...yeah
and then it getting its speed boost.

and banning evasiveness moves dosn't mean that were sore loosers.Its just that when you double team(or any other move like that)it will be mainly luck if you hit or if you miss.And who wants to win/lose by luck??
So that is why they are banned.
